Nanosized TiO2 thin film on the substrate such as stainless steel plate and slide glass film were prepared by magnetron sputtering method, and these TiO2 thin films were characterized by field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Photocatalytic activity for Methyl-ethyl-ketone (MEK) and acetaldehyde were measured using a closed circulating reaction system through the various ultra violet (UV) sources. From the results of SEM images, nanosized TiO2 thin film was uniformly coated on slide glass, ranging from 360 nm to 370 nm. Photocatalytic activity of MEK over TiO2 thin film on stainless steel plate did not occur by UV-A irradiation, but was efficiently decomposed by UV-B and UV-C. Also, acetaldehyde could be decomposed than MEK. The effect of sputtering conditions on their structure and photocatalytic activities were investigated in detail.  相似文献

Antagonism of Helicobacter pylori by bacteriocins of lactic acid bacteria   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Antimicrobial activity of seven bacteriocins produced by lactic acid bacteria against Helicobacter pylori strains (ATCC 43504, Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH [DSM] 4867, DSM 9691, and DSM 10242) was investigated in vitro using a broth microdilution assay. The bacteriocins chosen for the study were nisin A; lacticins A164, BH5, JW3, and NK24; pediocin PO2; and leucocin K. Antimicrobial activity of the bacteriocins varied among the H. pylori strains tested, of which strain ATCC 43504 was the most tolerant. Among the bacteriocins tested, lacticins A164 and BH5 produced by Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis A164 and L. lactis BH5, respectively, showed the strongest antibacterial activity against H. pylori strains. MICs of the lacticins against H. pylori strains, when assessed by the critical dilution micromethod, ranged from 0.097 to 0.390 mg/liter (DSM strains) or from 12.5 to 25 mg/liter (ATCC 43504), supporting the strain-dependent sensitivity of the pathogen. Pediocin PO2 was less active than the lacticins against four strains of H. pylori, and leucocin K was the least active peptide, with no inhibition toward H. pylori ATCC 43504. Anti-Helicobacter activity of lacticin A164 was dependent on initial inoculum size as well as concentration of the bacteriocin added.  相似文献

A number of different authors have considered the problem of performance degradation of transmission control protocol (TCP) in wireless ad hoc networks. We herein show that pauses in packet transmission due to packet losses are the fundamental cause of performance degradation of TCP in wireless ad hoc networks. To minimize the duration of packet transmission pauses, we propose a fast retransmission scheme for improving TCP performance in consideration of the inter-operability of previously deployed TCPs in wireless ad hoc networks. We also propose an additional rate control scheme for TCPs to reduce the probability of packet contention. Using OPNET and NS2 simulations, we show that our proposed schemes can provide a much better performance than conventional TCPs.  相似文献

Fracture mode transition in hydrogen-assisted cracking (HAC) of AISI 4340 steel has been studied from an equilibrium aspect at room temperature with 8.6-mm-thick double cantilever beam (DCB) specimens. The threshold stress intensity,K th , necessary for the occurrence of HAC and the corresponding fracture surface morphology have been determined as a function of hydrogen pressure and yield strength. The K th increases with decrease in hydrogen pressure at a given yield strength and also with decrease in yield strength at a given hydrogen pressure. AsK th increases, the corresponding HAC fracture mode changes from the intergranular (IG) and quasi-cleavage (QC) modes to the microvoid coalescence (MVC) mode. The experimental results indicate that the critical hydrogen concentration for crack extension in the IG mode is higher than that for crack extension in the MVC mode. The fracture mode transition with varying hydrogen pressure and yield strength is discussed by simultaneously considering the micromechanisms for HAC and the hydrogen pressure and yield strength dependencies ofK th .  相似文献

Attempts have been made to elucidate the mechanism of stress-corrosion cracking (SCC) in high-strength Al-Zn-Mg and Al-Li-Zr alloys exposed to aqueous environments by considering the temperature dependence of SCC susceptibility based upon the anodic dissolution and hydrogen embrittlement models. A quantitative correlation which involves the change of threshold stress intensity,K ISCC, with temperature on the basis of anodic dissolution has been developed with the aid of linear elastic fracture mechanics. From the derived correlation, it is concluded that the threshold stress intensity decreases as the test temperature increases. This suggestion is inconsistent with that predicted on the basis of hydrogen embrittlement. It is experimentally observed from the Al-Zn-Mg and Al-Li-Zr alloys that the threshold stress intensity,K,ISCC, decreases and the crack propagation rate,da/dt, over the stress intensity increases with increasing test temperature. From considering the change in SCC susceptibility with temperature, it is suggested that a gradual transition in the mechanism for the stress-corrosion crack propagation occurs from anodic dissolution in stage I, where the crack propagation rate increases sharply with stress intensity, to hydrogen embrittlement in stage II, where the crack propagation rate is independent of stress intensity.  相似文献

A new method is proposed to determine bias-dependent source resistances for GaAs field-effect transistors (FET's). This method, which is a cold-FET measurement technique, utilizes the relations between the real part of the two-port impedances transformed from the measured S-parameters and their algebraic derivatives. It is based on the fact that the algebraic derivatives of the two-port resistances result in the simple form at the normal cold-FET condition. A bias-independent gate resistance is extracted at the pinched-off cold-FET condition to fulfill necessary and sufficient conditions in extraction. The proposed method is a direct measurement because only algebraic calculation is required, and it is general enough to need only one assumption of the laterally symmetric channel-doping profile. The deleterious results of dispersion (frequency dependence) and negative value in source resistances at the pinched-off cold-FET condition are explained by the effects of the leakage current and the on-wafer pad parasitics, respectively. The problem of deviation of α21 and α12 from 0.5 at the normal cold-FET condition is also resolved by deembedding the on-wafer pad parasitics. Fractal characteristics of mesoporous carbon electrodes were investigated with various pore structures using the N2 gas adsorption method and the transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image analysis method. The mesoporous carbons with various pore structures were prepared by imprinting mesophase pitch used as a carbonaceous precursor with different colloidal silica particles. All imprinted mesoporous carbons were composed of two groups of pores produced from the carbonisation of mesophase pitch and from the silica imprinting. The overall surface fractal dimensions of the carbon specimens were determined from the analyses of the N2 gas adsorption isotherms. In order to distinguish the surface fractal dimension of the carbonisation-induced pore surface from that fractal dimension of the silica-imprinted pore surface, the individual surface fractal dimensions were determined from the image analyses of the TEM images. From the comparison of the overall surface fractal dimension with the individual surface fractal dimensions, it was recognised that the overall surface fractal dimension is crucially influenced by the individual surface fractal dimension of the silica-imprinted pore surface. Moreover, from the fact that the silica-imprinted pore surface with broad relative pore size distribution (PSD) gave lower value of the individual surface fractal dimension than that pore surface with narrow relative PSD, it is concluded that as the silica-imprinted pores comprising the carbon specimen agglomerate, the individual surface fractal dimension of that pore surface decreases.  相似文献

Some issues have been critically discussed regarding the cell-impedance-controlled model inspired by the recent publication entitled “Reply to remarks on Discussion of three models used for the investigation of insertion/extraction processes by the potential step chronoamperometry technique [C. Montella, Electrochim. Acta 50 (2005) 3746] by H.-C. Shin, S.-I. Pyun, K.-N. Jung” [Electrochim. Acta 51 (2006) 2775]. Physiological changes of Lactobacillus plantarum (KFRI 815) by high pressure CO2 treatment were investigated to examine the relevance to microbial inactivation. Characteristic properties of the cells measured in this study included salt tolerance, release of UV-absorbing substances, Mg and K ions, proton permeability, glycolysis, H+-ATPase and constitutive enzymes, and dye uptake. The cells treated with high pressure CO2 of 7 MPa at 30 degrees C for 10 min showed the irreversible cellular membrane damages including loss of salt tolerance, leakage of UV-absorbing substances, release of intracellular ions, collapse of proton permeability and uptake of Phloxine B dye. L. plantarum cells after CO2 treatment also exhibited reduced glycolytic activity and inactivation of some constituent enzymes. However, H+-ATPase of the cell membrane maintained its initial specific activity of about 2.50 U/mg protein even though viability of the cells was reduced by several log cycles after high pressure CO2 treatment.  相似文献
