Efficient localization of target in large scale farmland using generalized regression neural network

Although simple to implement, the traditional trilateration technique is generally associated with significant location estimation errors because of highly nonlinear relationship between Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) and distance. In case of agricultural farmland, there is always noise uncertainty in the RSSI measurements because of signal propagation issues such as NLOS, multipath propagation, and reflection. In the context of such environmental dynamicity, the localization algorithm must be efficient in terms of Localization Accuracy and Execution Speed to provide real‐time performance. The Generalized Regression Neural Network (GRNN) is a noniterative highly parallel neural architecture with the capability to get trained quickly using very few training samples. This paper introduces a range free GRNN localization algorithm as an alternative to the traditional range‐based trilateration technique for a large scale wheat farmland. This paper also presents the modified Optimal Fitted Parametric Exponential Decay Model (OFPEDM)‐based signal path loss model to deal with the issue of environmental dynamicity. The evaluation of localization performance of the trilateration and the proposed GRNN‐based approaches is carried out with the help of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) using three path loss models, namely, Log Normal Shadow Fading (LNSM), Original OFPEDM, and proposed Modified OFPEDM. For all these implementations, the proposed GRNN algorithm demonstrates superior localization performance (localization accuracy of the order of few centimeters) over traditional trilateration irrespective of nonlinear system dynamics, path loss model, and environmental dynamicity. In this article, a compact uniplanar asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS)‐fed multiband antenna with extended rectangular strips is proposed for portable system applications. It is composed of a modified mouse and rectangular‐shaped radiating strip for generating three resonance frequency bands simultaneously. The proposed antenna has a compact size of 16 × 26 × 1.6 mm3. Antenna has |S11| ≤ ?10 dB at three independent controlled bandwidths from 2.2 to 2.4 GHz, 3.5 to 3.7 GHz, and 4.85 to 6.85 GHz. The proposed ACS‐fed antenna is suitable for LTE 2300, WiBro 2300 GHz, 5.2/5.8‐GHz WLAN, 3.5/5.5‐GHz WiMAX, 4.9‐GHz US public safety band, and 5.9‐GHz WAVE applications. The antenna has omnidirectional radiation characteristics in the desired frequency bands in both E‐plane and H‐plane. Power and delay aware cloud service provisioning to mobile devices has become a promising domain today. This paper proposes and implements a cooperative offloading approach for indoor mobile cloud network. In the proposed work mobile devices register under femtolet which is a home base station with computation and data storage facilities. The resources of the mobile devices are collaborated in such a way that different mobile devices can execute different types of computations based on cooperative federation. The proposed offloading scheme is referred as cooperative code offloading in femtolet-based fog network. If none of the mobile device can execute the requested computation, then femtolet executes the computation. Use of femtolet provides the mobile devices voice call service as well as cloud service access. Femtolet is used as the fog device in our approach. The proposed model is simulated using Qualnet version 7. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme minimizes the energy by 15% and average delay up to 12% approximately than the existing scheme. Effect of Conjugate Heat Transfer on Entropy Generation in Slip-Driven Microflow of Power Law Fluids

We analyze the entropy generation characteristics in a non-Newtonian microflow under the influence of interfacial slip as modulated by the conjugate transport of heat. We consider power law model to represent the constitutive behavior of the non-Newtonian fluid. In this analysis, we analytically solve the transport equations employing the thermal boundary condition of the third kind at the exterior wall surface accounting for the effect of conjugate heat transfer. We demonstrate that the slip flow–driven alteration in convective transport of heat and its nonlinear interaction with viscous dissipation, as modulated by fluid rheology and conjugate transport of heat, gives rise to a minimum entropy generation rate of the system. We determine the optimum value of the geometrical parameter—that is, the channel wall thickness and the thermophysical parameters, such as the Biot number and Peclet number—leading to a minimum entropy generation rate in the system. The results of this analysis could be of helpful in designing microsystems/devices typically used for electronic cooling, micro-heat pipes, and micro-heat exchangers. 相似文献
