Studies in the field of pedestrian navigation have shown advantages of map–image combinations. While in a previous work, the map view was either replaced with an image view in predefined situations, or the user was required to manually switch between both views, we suggest to use a split screen displaying maps and images at the same time. We developed two variants, one employing panoramic images aligned to the mobile device's orientation and the other using simple photographs, and we evaluated both against manual switching in a field study. While none of the interfaces outperformed the other, results indicate advantages of panoramic images independent of manual switching or the split screen.  相似文献

Today component- and service-based technologies play a central role in many aspects of enterprise computing. However, although the technologies used to define, implement, and assemble components have improved significantly over recent years, techniques for verifying systems created from them have changed very little. The correctness and reliability of component-based systems are still usually checked using the traditional testing techniques that were in use before components and services became widespread, and the associated costs and overheads still remain high. This paper presents an approach that addresses this problem by making the system verification process more component-oriented. Based on the notion of built-in tests (BIT)—tests that are packaged and distributed with prefabricated, off-the-shelf components—the approach partially automates the testing process, thereby reducing the level of effort needed to establish the acceptability of the system. The approach consists of a method that defines how components should be written to support and make use of run-time tests, and a resource-aware infrastructure that arranges for tests to be executed when they have a minimal impact on the delivery of system services. After providing an introduction to the principles behind component-based verification and explaining the main features of the approach and its supporting infrastructure, we show by means of a case study how it can reduce system verification effort.  相似文献

Collaborative spectrum sensing (CSS) plays a vital role in achieving accurate spectrum sensing results in a cognitive radio network (CRN). However, CSS in infrastructure-less CRNs is a challenging task as there is no central authority which aggregates individual sensing reports to take a final decision. Hence, it becomes the responsibility of each node to aggregate sensing reports of other nodes to take the final decision. Towards this end, we present two collaborative spectrum sensing techniques for infrastructure-less CRN based on message passing. The first technique is distributed binary decision-based CSS (DBCSS), in which a node broadcasts its sensing report and uses the binary decisions of its h-hop neighbors for making its final sensing decision. The second one is distributed cluster-based CSS (DCCSS) in which a cluster head consolidates the sensing reports in its cluster into a message and broadcast this message in the network. We support the validity of the proposed schemes through extensive simulation results.  相似文献

A distributed, self-organization algorithm for ground target tracking using unattended acoustic sensor network is developed. Instead of using microphone arrays, each sensor node in the sensor network uses only a single microphone as its sensing device. This design can greatly reduce the size and cost of each sensor node and allow more flexible deployment of the sensor network. The self-organization algorithm presented in this paper can dynamically select proper sensor nodes to form the localization sensor groups that can work as a virtual microphone array to perform energy efficient target localization and tracking. To achieve this, we use a time-delay based bearing estimation plus triangulation for source localization in the sensor network. Major error sources of the localization method like time delay estimation, bearing calculation and triangulation are analyzed and sensor selection criteria are developed. Based on these criteria and neighborhood information of each sensor node, a distributed self-organization algorithm is developed. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

Exopolysaccharides (EPS) of microbial origin is a promising alternative to chemical flocculants due to their sustainability and eco‐friendly nature. In the present study, EPS produced by Bacillus cereus SK was studied and their flocculating activity was investigated. On incubation for 48 h, B. cereus SK produced 0.919 ± 0.022 g/L of EPS from a cell mass of 3.59 ± 0.06 g/L. The isolated EPS was identified as glycoprotein and chemical characterization by FTIR spectroscopic analysis suggested the presence of hydroxyl, amino and carboxyl groups. The kaolin clay flocculating activity of 83.4% was obtained on treatment with 12 mg/L of EPS. At 30% (v/v) of EPS 31.22 ± 4.71 mL/g of Sludge volume index (SVI) and 34.44 ± 1.51 mL/g of algal flocculation was observed. The EPS produced by B. cereus SK was non‐toxic and did not exert any adverse effect on Danio rerio even at a concentration of 800 mg/mL.  相似文献

The Influenza A virus (IAV) is a severe respiratory pathogen. C1q is the first subcomponent of the complement system’s classical pathway. C1q is composed of 18 polypeptide chains. Each of these chains contains a collagen-like region located at the N terminus, and a C-terminal globular head region organized as a heterotrimeric structure (ghA, ghB and ghC). This study was aimed at investigating the complement activation-independent modulation by C1q and its individual recombinant globular heads against IAV infection. The interaction of C1q and its recombinant globular heads with IAV and its purified glycoproteins was examined using direct ELISA and far-Western blotting analysis. The effect of the complement proteins on IAV replication kinetics and immune modulation was assessed by qPCR. The IAV entry inhibitory properties of C1q and its recombinant globular heads were confirmed using cell binding and luciferase reporter assays. C1q bound IAV virions via HA, NA and M1 IAV proteins, and suppressed replication in H1N1, while promoting replication in H3N2-infected A549 cells. C1q treatment further triggered an anti-inflammatory response in H1N1 and pro-inflammatory response in H3N2-infected cells as evident from differential expression of TNF-α, NF-κB, IFN-α, IFN-β, IL-6, IL-12 and RANTES. Furthermore, C1q treatment was found to reduce luciferase reporter activity of MDCK cells transfected with H1N1 pseudotyped lentiviral particles, indicative of an entry inhibitory role of C1q against infectivity of IAV. These data appear to demonstrate the complement-independent subtype specific modulation of IAV infection by locally produced C1q.  相似文献

A novel Schiff base N′-[1-(3-aminophenyl)ethylidine]isonicotinohydrazide was prepared and its complexation behavior towards some selected lanthanides had been studied employing pH-metric and calorimetric titration and spectral techniques. pH-metric studies were carried out for the trivalent La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, and Gd complexes in 30% aqueous-dioxane medium at constant ionic strength of 0.05 mol/L NaClO4 and at different temperatures of 293, 303 and 313 K. The proton-ligand formation constants of the ligand indicated the presence of only one dissociable proton while the metal-ligand formation constants were compatible with the formation of 1:1 Ln(Ⅲ) complexes. The sta-bility of the complexes followed the order: La3+Gd3+, showing a break at gadolinium. The thermodynamic parame-ters, ΔG, ΔH and ΔS associated with protonation and complexation reactions were negative which suggested that all reactions were exother-mic and enthalpy-driven. Isothermal calorimetric studies of Gd3+-aeINH systems at 303 K also showed exothermic nature of the complexation reaction and formation of 1:1 complex in agreement with the pH-metric data. Formation of 1:1 complexes was confirmed by the characteriza-tion of Nd(Ⅲ) complex. A seven coordinated geometry was assigned for the complex based on its elemental and spectral data.  相似文献

In a cognitive radio ad hoc network, there is no central authority. Hence, distributed collaborative spectrum sensing (CSS) plays a major role in achieving an accurate spectrum sensing result. However, CSS is sensitive to spectrum sensing data falsification (SSDF) attack, in which a malicious user falsifies its local sensing report before disseminating it into the network. To capture such abnormal behavior of a node, we present an approach for detecting SSDF attack based on dissimilarity score. A secondary user (SU) computes the dissimilarity score of its neighbors from the messages received from its h‐hop neighbors. Further, we also present how the proposed scheme can be used on the sequence of sensing reports to detect and isolate the malicious SUs on the fly.  相似文献
