Large deployment of Electric Vehicles (EVs) adds new challenges in the operation of a microgrid. Assuming that a number of EV owners allow their batteries to charge when their cars are parked, this paper proposes an approach that aims to find suitable individual active power set-points corresponding to the hourly charging rate of each EV battery connected to the microgrid. A multi agent system based controller is designed to find these active power set points for optimal power management of EVs, distributed energy resources in the microgrid, and the loads.  相似文献

The rapid growth of the robotic industry has made it imperative to consider more seriously the safety aspects of robotic installations. Some work has been initiated recently in this area; a standard proposed by the Robotic Industries Association is a step in the right direction. This paper is based on an investigation of the state of the art in robotic safety, and contains an analysis of the sources of accidents, and the accident-prone operational phases of robotic installations. It forms the groundwork (literature survey) of a research project at the University of Windsor to develop a hardware/software-based safety system. It is suggested that both the robot manufacturer and the user should regard robotic safety as an important consideration.  相似文献

Shared memory is a simple yet powerful paradigm for structuring systems. Recently, there has been an interest in extending this paradigm to non-shared memory architectures as well. For example, the virtual address spaces for all objects in a distributed object-based system could be viewed as constituting a global distributed shared memory. We propose a set of primitives for managing distributed shared memory. We present an implementation of these primitives in the context of an object-based operating system as well as on top of Unix.  相似文献

We generalize earlier results in VLSI layout theory by considering variable aspect ratio embeddings for VLSI graphs. By aspect ratio we mean the ratio of the length of the longer side to the length of the shorter side of the bounding rectangle of the embedding. Our results are based on separators and bifurcators. We obtain embeddings with existentially optimal area and any desired aspect ratio. Additionally, we can obtain either bounded capacitive delay or existentially optimal minimax edge length in the embeddings; both of these features reduce delays in the circuit. A special feature of our results on minimax edge length is that they unify earlier separator- and bifurcator-based results for square embeddings, and also provide a simplified lower bound proof.  相似文献

The present investigation is aimed toward the development of knowledge-based aids for the design of mechanical systems. We have developed and implemented the knowledgebased aid system, which includes MEET and DPMED. The basic approach of MEET follows along the lines ofDesign=Refinement+ Constraint Propagation. This approach has been proven successful in the circuit design domain. Our attempts to utilize MEET have convinced us that we need to extend this methodology to solve mechanical design problems. The DPMED methodology has been applied to design gear-pairs, v-belts, bearings, and shafts. Rules for selecting materials, critical design criteria, and so on are incorporated as part of the rule-system. In order for DPMED to select the design parameter values within the feasible design space, design criteria need to be investigated. Based on these criteria and input/output specifications, DPMED attempts to perform parameter selections. DPMED uses a general hill-climbing algorithm to guide the search.  相似文献

Design of automotive components with over-molded short/continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites necessitates understanding of their behavior under extreme outdoor conditions. The short, quasi-isotropic and over-molded short/continuous glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (PP) composite specimens were prepared as per standard and immersed in water until equilibration to study their relative moisture absorption characteristics and consequent mechanical behavior. As the absorbed moisture mostly occupied the interface between fiber and matrix in laminated composite inserts and moisture absorption of short fiber composite core is insignificant, the moisture absorption of over-molded composites is just above 50% of that of laminated composites. The flexural, interlaminar shear and impact behavior of equilibrated composites is primarily governed by the quantum of imbibed moisture of composite materials. Optical analysis of failed moisture equilibrated over-molded specimens showed a marginal delamination between plies of the inserts without any perceptible damage within the short fiber composite similar to dry as molded specimens.  相似文献

The problem of simultaneous absorption of two gases accompanied by reversible instantaneous chemical reactions is considered. Analytical equations are derived for the rates of absortion of the two gases. The solution is valid when the diffusivities of all species are assumed to be the same.
