One class of potential Lewis acids that has received negligible attention as a catalyst is the carbocation. Here we show the potential of triarylmethylium ions as highly powerful Lewis acid catalysts for organic reactions. The Lewis acidity of the triarylmethylium ion can be easily tuned by variation of the electronic properties of the aromatic rings and the catalytic activity of the carbocation is shown to correlate directly to the level of stabilization of the empty pC‐orbital at the cationic carbon. The versatility of triarylmethylium ions as efficient Lewis acid catalysts for organic reactions is demonstrated in Diels–Alder, aza‐Diels–Alder, conjugate addition, halogenation, epoxide rearrangement and intramolecular hetro‐ene reactions.

The adsorption characteristics of formaldehyde on to MgO nanotube along inner surface, outer surface and terminating end are studied using DFT method with B3LYP/LanL2DZ basis set. The favorable adsorption site is discussed in terms of adsorbed energy which is found to be adsorption of C atom in HCHO with O atom in MgO along inner surface, outer surface and terminating end. The average energy gap variations for all the possible adsorption sites in MgO nanotube are reported. Mulliken population analysis confirms the transfers of electrons from MgO nanotube to HCHO. The conductivity of MgO base material is influenced by the energy gap variation when HCHO is adsorbed on to MgO nanotube. The result of the present study reveals that synthesizing MgO in nanotube form will enhance HCHO sensing characteristics. 相似文献

This paper deals with new and innovative case studies of application of post-tensioning for restoration of structures for buildings, bridges and rock stabilization in India. In earlier situations for these types of cases conventional method of repair and rehabilitation has been used. These innovative approaches for restoration have led to enormous saving of cost and time. The advantages of post tensioning are well known in the civil industry and are being used for the last 40 to 50 years. Post tensioning is one of the best methods to induce stresses in the concrete before application of live load and this technique can also be widely used for restoration and rehabilitation of structures. Unlike the use of post-tensioning in new structures there are no definite methods or codes for application in restoration and rehabilitation of structures. For restoration and rehabilitation of structures, PT (post tensioned) technique can be applied in combination with other techniques and materials available. Bridge lifting is a tricky and risky job especially when the superstructure is displaced appreciably by a natural calamity, etc.. Not only the present state of structure needs proper study before commencement of restoration and rehabilitation but also calls for careful execution. The effect of hydrogen capping of SiN(Si-rich)/SiN(N-rich) stacks for n-type c-Si solar cells was investigated. Use of a passivation layer consisting of Si-rich SiN with a refractive index (n) of 2.7 and N-rich SiN with a refractive index of 2.1 improved the thermal stability. A single SiN passivation layer with a refractive index of 2.05 resulted in an initial lifetime of 200 μs whereas the layer with a refractive index of 2.7 resulted in a high initial lifetime of 2 ms, but the layer degraded rapidly after firing. A stacked passivation layer with refractive indices of 2.1 and 2.7 had a stable lifetime of 1.5 ms with an implied open-circuit voltage (iV oc) of 720 mV after firing. The thermally stable passivation mechanism with changing amounts of Si–N and Si–H bonding was analyzed by Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Incorporation of the SiN x stack layer (2.7 + 2.1) into the passivated rear of n-type Cz silicon screen-printed solar cells resulted in energy conversion efficiency of 19.69%. Improved internal quantum efficiency in the long-wavelength range above 900 nm, with V oc of 630 mV, is mainly because of superior passivation of the rear surface compared with conventional solar cells. 相似文献

Due to their high specific strength, fibre reinforced polymers find wide application in these areas. Panels made of composite materials are widely used in aerospace structures, automobile, civil, marine and biomedical industries because of their good mechanical properties, impact resistance, excellent damage tolerance and also low fabrication cost. In this Paper, buckling and post-buckling analysis was performed on composite stiffened panel to obtain the critical load and modes of failures, with different parameters like ply-orientation, different composite materials, and stiffeners and by changing the number of stiffeners was derived. To analyze the post buckling behaviour of composite stiffened panels the nonlinear finite element analysis is employed and substantial investigations are undertaken using finite element (FE) model. Effect of critical parameters on buckling behaviour is studied and parametric studies were conducted with analytical tool to understand the structural behaviour in the post buckling range. 相似文献

Gravity supports all the life activities present on earth. Microgravity environments have effect on the biological functions and physiological status of an individual. The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of simulated microgravity on important regulatory enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism in liver using HLS mice model. Following hind limb unloading of mice for 11 days the animal’s average body weights were found to be not different, while the liver weights were decreased and found to be significantly different (p < 0.05) from control mice. Further, in liver the specific activity of hexokinase enzyme was reduced (p < 0.02) and the phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase activity was significantly increased in simulated microgravity subjected mice compared to control (p < 0.003). Immunoblot analysis show decreased phosphofructokinase-2 activity in HLS mice compared to control. Liver lactate dehydrogenase activity significantly reduced in simulated microgravity subjected mice (p < 0.005). Thus in our study the rodents have adapted to simulated microgravity conditions, with decreased glycolysis and increased gluconeogenesis in liver and reciprocally regulated. 相似文献

An accurate and time efficient model of CMOS gate driven coupled-multiple interconnects is presented in this paper for crosstalk induced propagation delay and peak voltage measurements. The proposed model is developed using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) technique for coupled RLC interconnects, whereas the alpha power law model is used to represent the transistors in a CMOS driver. As verified by the HSPICE simulation results, the transient response of the proposed model demonstrates high accuracy. Over the random number of test cases, crosstalk induced peak voltage and propagation delay show average errors of 1.1% and 4.3%, respectively, with respect to HSPICE results. 相似文献

An analysis is presented for mixed convection effects in a wall plume flow. The results apply downstream from the source. The method of matched asymptotic expansions has been used to obtain a consistent solution by simultaneously including both the effects of mixed convection and of higher order boundary layer corrections. Several subtle and interesting features of this flow arise and are explained. The unexpected role played by Prandtl number is clearly illustrated. For example, the effect of an aiding imposed forced flow is to reduce surface shear stress, for Pr = 0.7, and to increase it for Pr = 6.7. Further, it has been shown that such a Prandtl number effect on the surface shear stress is dependent on the kind of heating condition imposed at the surface. Results of numerical calculations are presented for two values of Prandtl number, 0.7 and 6.7, as characteristic of air and water, respectively. The overall effect of mixed convection on the downstream decay of surface temperature and on the maximum value of tangential velocity is seen to be greater in air than in water. 相似文献
