The question as to which structural equation model should be selected when multitrait-multimethod (MTMM) data are analyzed is of interest to many researchers. In the past, attempts to find a well-fitting model have often been data-driven and highly arbitrary. In the present article, the authors argue that the measurement design (type of methods used) should guide the choice of the statistical model to analyze the data. In this respect, the authors distinguish between (a) interchangeable methods, (b) structurally different methods, and (c) the combination of both kinds of methods. The authors present an appropriate model for each type of method. All models allow separating measurement error from trait influences and trait-specific method effects. With respect to interchangeable methods, a multilevel confirmatory factor model is presented. For structurally different methods, the correlated trait-correlated (method-1) model is recommended. Finally, the authors demonstrate how to appropriately analyze data from MTMM designs that simultaneously use interchangeable and structurally different methods. All models are applied to empirical data to illustrate their proper use. Some implications and guidelines for modeling MTMM data are discussed. Optimisation methods under varied criteria for different parameters in stochastic reliability systems are being increasingly developed and have been reported in recent literature. The large interest evinced in this fascinating area is primarily due to its applicational value and operational role in the decision making process. Recently a parallel system has been considered and the optimal number of units discussed, as well as optimal replacement times for the system based on acquisition and replacement costs.In this paper we consider an improved version of the model formulation, by bringing in additionally the maintenance and per unit repair time costs, and develop a procedure to obtain the optimal number of components in the system with the condition that the system is allowed to undergo a prefixed maximum number of repairs, after which the system is to be replaced.The applicational use of the results is illustrated through numerical work, specialising to some known laws governing the system parameters and corresponding to different fixed number of repair sanctions. 相似文献

Various new thiazolidinone and thioxoimidazolidinone derivatives were synthesized starting from 4,9-dimethoxy-5 H-furo[3,2-g][1]benzopyran-5-on-7-carboxaldehyde. This research investigated a new method to measure momentary affective clarity indirectly, which is based on latencies of responses to state affect items. Three studies revealed that this indirect measure of momentary clarity demonstrated high reliability and stability as well as convergent and predictive validity. The indirect measure was associated with dispositional clarity when the concept of clarity was activated before measuring response latencies (Studies 1 and 2) and was related to self-reports of momentary clarity (Study 3). Furthermore, Study 3 demonstrated that indirectly measured clarity decreased after an affectively complex film. Indirectly, but not directly, measured momentary clarity predicted a more positive affective state at the end of the study. This effect was mediated by affect regulation. This study prospectively investigated the effects of psychological hardiness, job control, and job demands on medically certified sickness absence. Data from a questionnaire survey were combined with archival data for sickness absence among 7,239 civilian and military employees of the Norwegian Armed Forces (84.3% male, 69.8% military). A 2-component hurdle regression was used in the statistical analyses of the sickness absence data. After controlling for age, sex, and baseline absence, hardiness predicted both the likelihood of having any sickness absence (odds ratio = 0.97) and the number of absence spells (a 6.5% decrease in the expected count for 1 standard deviation change in hardiness). In addition, an interaction was found among hardiness, job control, and psychological demands. When demands were high, high job control was associated with more absence among employees with low levels of hardiness. Together, these findings point to hardiness as an important individual resource in relation to health, and that it is necessary to consider individual differences when examining the effects of work characteristics. In this work polyacrylamide (PACM) was prepared by radical polymerization technique using ammonium persulfate (APS) as initiator under nitrogen atmosphere. The viscosity average molecular weight of the prepared PACM was found to be 177858. The free amino groups of PACM, poly(2-methoxyaniline) was grafted by the oxidation of 2-methoxyaniline using APS in acidic medium under nitrogen atmosphere. The grafting percent is found to be 96%. The morphology of the obtained PACM and PACM-g-P2-MeOANI was studied by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope. The grafting process enhances the morphology of both PACM and poly(2-methoxyaniline). The inhibiting effect of the three polymers on the mild steel corrosion in the 1.0?M HCl as aggressive environments have been measured gravimetrically at three different temperatures 25, 40 and 55?°C and electrically at 25?°C. The inhibition efficiencies of the three tested polymers were found to increase with temperature. The poly(2-methoxyaniline) is the most effective one as a corrosion inhibitor at all tested temperatures. The adsorption behavior of the polymers was found to follow Villamil isotherm and the values of the change in free energy refer to a mixed chemical and physical adsorption on the steel surface. Tafel curves indicate that the tested polymers act as mixed anodic and cathodic inhibitor. The double layer capacitance was found to decrease with increasing the inhibitor concentration. 相似文献

Studies were made of two different techniques of bi-manual lifting with bent legs (A and B) and a technique of lifting with the back bent and the Knees almost extended (C). With technique A, the trunk was almost vertical, while with B it was erect and more forward inclined and the heel of the front foot kept in contact with the support. Two healthy subject samples (n = 18 and n = 16 respectively) were studied, both employing a force platform; with the second sample the back muscles were also evaluated by electromyography. The distance Delta L between the lines of gravity of the body and the load at the start of the lifts was shortest with technique A and longest with C. This was true whether the position of the feet was chosen spontaneously or was identical for all three techniques. The distance of the load from the body during the lifting movement was directly related to the distance at the start of the lift: the further away the load was at initiation of the lift, the further away it remained throughout the rest of the lift. A request to lift as close to the load as possible had a positive effect in shortening Delta L , but the amount of previously received instruction in lifting technique did not correlate with the spontaneously chosen Delta L. 相似文献
