The hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of m-cresol is investigated as a model for the HDO of phenolic compounds from lignin pyrolysis. Pt catalysts supported on ??-Al2O3 and SiO2 are effective for the conversion of m-cresol to toluene and methylcyclohexane at 533?K and 0.5?atm H2. Experiments using Pt/??-Al2O3 show that the reaction proceeds by a combination of Pt-catalyzed hydrogenation and acid-catalyzed dehydration reactions. Dehydration of a partially hydrogenated oxygenate intermediate is most likely the dominant reaction pathway to toluene. The acidity of the ??-Al2O3 support was modified by base (K2CO3) and acid (NH4F) treatments, and increasing the number and strength of acid sites was found to increase the rate of HDO. Pt/SiO2 was more active for m-cresol HDO than Pt/Al2O3. The reaction rate on Pt/Al2O3 and Pt/SiO2 decreased after 5?h on stream, but Pt/Al2O3 regained initial reactivity after reductive treatment in H2.  相似文献

Fluorescence spectra of anti-tumoral drug emodin loaded on nanostructured porous silicon have been recorded. The use of colloidal nanoparticles allowed embedding of the drug without previous porous silicon functionalization and leads to the observation of an enhancement of fluorescence of the drug. Mean pore size of porous silicon matrices was 60 nm, while silver nanoparticles mean diameter was 50 nm. Atmospheric and vacuum conditions at room temperature were used to infiltrate emodin-silver nanoparticles complexes into porous silicon matrices. The drug was loaded after adsorption on metal surface, alone, and bound to bovine serum albumin. Methanol and water were used as solvents. Spectra with 1 μm spatial resolution of cross-section of porous silicon layers were recorded to observe the penetration of the drug. A maximum fluorescence enhancement factor of 24 was obtained when protein was loaded bound to albumin, and atmospheric conditions of inclusion were used. A better penetration was obtained using methanol as solvent when comparing with water. Complexes of emodin remain loaded for 30 days after preparation without an apparent degradation of the drug, although a decrease in the enhancement factor is observed. The study reported here constitutes the basis for designing a new drug delivery system with future applications in medicine and pharmacy.  相似文献

At present, a large number of studies of biodiesel production process using simulation packages are being developed. In these studies, vegetable oils and biodiesels are characterized in the software through representative compounds because of they are not in the compounds database of commercial simulators. With the aim to achieve a successfully characterization in these kinds of software, some properties of the substances must be available. The normal boiling point (NBP) is the most important property due to the fact that this property along with group contribution methods allows other properties calculation such as, e.g., critical properties and temperature dependency properties. In this work, a thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) method for rapid measurement of normal boiling points of two triacylglycerols and four ethyl esters, i.e., triolein, tripalmitin, ethyl oleate, ethyl palmitate, ethyl linoleate and ethyl ricinoleate, was used. Nowadays, in the open literature exists few data available about ethyl esters properties; hence, the results obtained here will contribute in the proposal, analysis, and evaluation of ethyl esters (biodiesel) virtual plants using reliable simulation packages. In addition, a more accurate characterization of compounds and therefore more accurate simulation results can be obtained when they are used.  相似文献

Although exercise increases HDL-cholesterol, exercise-induced changes in HDL metabolism have been little explored. Lipid transfer to HDL is essential for HDL’s role in reverse cholesterol transport. We investigated the effects of acute exhaustive exercise on lipid transfer to HDL. We compared plasma lipid, apolipoprotein and cytokine levels and in vitro transfer of four lipids from a radioactively labeled lipid donor nanoemulsion to HDL in sedentary individuals (n = 28) and in marathon runners (n = 14) at baseline, immediately after and 72 h after a marathon. While HDL-cholesterol concentrations and apo A1 levels were higher in marathon runners, LDL-cholesterol, apo B and triacylglycerol levels were similar in both groups. Transfers of non-esterified cholesterol [6.8 (5.7–7.2) vs. 5.2 (4.5–6), p = 0.001], phospholipids [21.7 (20.4–22.2) vs. 8.2 (7.7–8.9), p = 0.0001] and triacylglycerol [3.7 (3.1–4) vs. 1.3 (0.8–1.7), p = 0.0001] were higher in marathon runners, but esterified-cholesterol transfer was similar. Immediately after the marathon, LDL- and HDL-cholesterol concentrations and apo A1 levels were unchanged, but apo B and triacylglycerol levels increased. Lipid transfer of non-esterified cholesterol [6.8 (5.7–7.2) vs. 5.8 (4.9–6.6), p = 0.0001], phospholipids [21.7 (20.4–22.2) vs. 19.1 (18.6–19.3), p = 0.0001], esterified-cholesterol [3.2 (2.2–3.8) vs. 2.3 (2–2.9), p = 0.02] and triacylglycerol [3.7 (3.1–4) vs. 2.6 (2.1–2.8), p = 0.0001] to HDL were all reduced immediately after the marathon but returned to baseline 72 h later. Running a marathon increased IL-6 and TNF-α levels, but after 72 h these values returned to baseline. Lipid transfer, except esterified-cholesterol transfer, was higher in marathon runners than in sedentary individuals, but the marathon itself acutely inhibited lipid transfer. In light of these novel observations, further study is required to clarify how these metabolic changes can influence HDL composition and anti-atherogenic function.  相似文献

Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) is an imaging technique that attempts to reconstruct the impedance distribution inside an object from the impedance between electrodes placed on the object surface. The EIT reconstruction problem can be approached as a nonlinear nonconvex optimization problem in which one tries to maximize the matching between a simulated impedance problem and the observed data. This nonlinear optimization problem is often ill-posed, and not very suited to methods that evaluate derivatives of the objective function. It may be approached by simulated annealing (SA), but at a large computational cost due to the expensive evaluation process of the objective function, which involves a full simulation of the impedance problem at each iteration. A variation of SA is proposed in which the objective function is evaluated only partially, while ensuring boundaries on the behavior of the modified algorithm.  相似文献

We present RERBEE (robust efficient registration via bifurcations and elongated elements), a novel feature-based registration algorithm able to correct local deformations in high-resolution ultra-wide field-of-view (UWFV) fluorescein angiogram (FA) sequences of the retina. The algorithm is able to cope with peripheral blurring, severe occlusions, presence of retinal pathologies and the change of image content due to the perfusion of the fluorescein dye in time. We have used the computational power of a graphics processor to increase the performance of the most computationally expensive parts of the algorithm by a factor of over × 1300, enabling the algorithm to register a pair of 3900 × 3072 UWFV FA images in 5-10 min instead of the 5-7 h required using only the CPU. We demonstrate accurate results on real data with 267 image pairs from a total of 277 (96.4%) graded as correctly registered by a clinician and 10 (3.6%) graded as correctly registered with minor errors but usable for clinical purposes. Quantitative comparison with state-of-the-art intensity-based and feature-based registration methods using synthetic data is also reported. We also show some potential usage of a correctly aligned sequence for vein/artery discrimination and automatic lesion detection.  相似文献

The current need to fasten the implementation of renewable energies greatly depends on the development of competitive storage devices, and while there is not a single technology which is likely capable to competitively cover the wide range of possible demands, electrochemical technologies are one of the most promising for many of them. For the realization of this promise, new materials fulfilling criteria such as high energy density, high power density, competitive cost, reliability, and environmental compatibility need to be developed in the near future. Electrochemical energy storage devices can be classified into two main technologies: supercapacitors and batteries (including redox flow batteries). Materials and applications for these technologies are discussed and compared, listing current status, technical and strategic challenges.  相似文献

The adsorption process of two dyes as a function of pH on three different adsorbents (goethite, Co-goethite, and magnetite) has been analyzed. Typical anionic adsorption behavior was observed for both dyes onto goethite and Co-goethite. The adsorption level was practically constant in the range of pH studied when the adsorbent was magnetite. The constant capacitance model (CCM) was employed to fit the experimental results. The surface complexes proposed from the adsorption data were in agreement with the patterns obtained from FTIR spectroscopy and a molecular mechanics calculation. Goethite has very good performance as adsorbent of Alizarin and Eriochrome Blue Black R. The presence of a foreign cation in Co-goethite does not improve the adsorption abilities of goethite. At low pH, the amounts of Alizarin and Eriochrome Blue Black R adsorbed on goethite and Co-goethite are similar. However, a higher dependence with the increase of pH is observed by Eriochrome Blue Black R. On magnetite, the dye adsorption shows less affinity for both dyes. Electronic and steric considerations can explain the trends found in the adsorption of the two dyes on the three iron oxides studied in this work.  相似文献

Pin and X‐ray corner turning data have been taken on ambient LX‐17 and PBX 9052, and the results are listed in tables as an aid to future modeling. The results have been modeled at 4 zones/mm with a reactive flow approach that varies the burn rate as a function of pressure. A single rate format is used to simulate failure and detonation in different pressure regimes. A pressure cut‐off must also be reached to initiate the burn. Corner turning and failure are modeled using an intermediate pressure rate region, and detonation occurs at high pressure. The TATB booster is also modeled using reactive flow, and X‐ray tomography is used to partition the ram‐pressed hemisphere into five different density regions. The model reasonably fits the bare corner turning experiment but predicts a smaller dead zone with steel confinement, in contradiction with experiment. The same model also calculates the confined and unconfined cylinder detonation velocities and predicts the failure of the unconfined cylinder at 3.75 mm radius. The PBX 9502 shows a smaller dead zone than LX‐17. An old experiment that showed a large apparent dead zone in Composition B was repeated with X‐ray transmission and no dead zone was seen. This confirms the idea that a variable burn rate is the key to modeling. The model also produces initiation delays, which are shorter than those found in time‐to‐detonation.  相似文献
