Within this study, main odorants of marjoram and thyme (linalool and thymol) were determined in spices and microencapsulated powders using solid-phase microextraction (SPME). Analyses were conducted on selected batches of spices before and after decontamination and on microencapsulated powders prepared for technological purposes (improvement of aroma in decontaminated spices). Conditions of SPME analyses were determined for individual compounds and matrices. Determination of total and surface contents of compounds and the percentage dependencies between encapsulated and surface aroma made it possible to identify the best powders in terms of their quality.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the (positive) graph relational calculus. The basis for this calculus was introduced by Curtis and Lowe in 1996 and some variants, motivated by their applications to semantics of programs and foundations of mathematics, appear scattered in the literature. No proper treatment of these ideas as a logical system seems to have been presented. Here, we give a formal presentation of the system, with precise formulation of syntax, semantics, and derivation rules. We show that the set of rules is sound and complete for the valid inclusions, and prove a finite model result as well as decidability. We also prove that the graph relational language has the same expressive power as a first-order positive fragment (both languages define the same binary relations), so our calculus may be regarded as a notational variant of the positive existential first-order logic of binary relations. The graph calculus, however, has a playful aspect, with rules easy to grasp and use. This opens a wide range of applications which we illustrate by applying our calculus to the positive relational calculus (whose set of valid inclusions is not finitely axiomatizable), obtaining an algorithm for deciding the valid inclusions and equalities of the latter.  相似文献

Abstract

Gluten-related disorders (GRD) affects approximately 10% of the general population. The only treatment for GRD is still so far is the lifelong complete exclusion of gluten from the daily diet. The correct information about the presence/absence of gluten in food is very important to this group. The present study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of gluten contamination in gluten-free industrial and non-industrial products. In this systematic review, 24 cross-sectional studies were analyzed. The authors developed specific search strategies for Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar and ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global. The authors evaluated the methodological quality of the included studies using criteria from Meta-analysis of Statistics Assessment and Review Instrument (MASTARI). We performed the statistical meta-analysis by metafor package of R program. 95.83% (n?=?23) of the studies presented positive results for contamination (over 20?ppm). In industrial food products, studies showed a contamination prevalence of 13.2% (95% CI: 10.8%–15.7%). In non-industrial food products, studies showed a contamination prevalence of 41.5% (95% CI: 16.6%–66.4%). Despite the non-industrial products presented higher contamination prevalence than the industrial products, the difference was not significant (p?=?0.072). The findings indicate cross-contamination in industrialized and non-industrialized products. As expected, industrial products labeled as gluten-free showed a lower percentage of gluten-contamination than non-industrialized. Despite that, any contaminated sample found in this group present greater relevance than non-labeled foods. It indicates that foods labeled as “gluten-free” should not be considered safe for patients with GRD since information on the label regarding the presence/absence of gluten is unreliable. Therefore, any gluten-contamination in products labeled as gluten-free is a serious problem to whom present GRD. Further studies are needed to estimate gluten cross-contamination in food service meals and industry better.  相似文献

Summary  Part-baked Irish brown soda bread loaves with bicarbonate levels from 0 to 2.8 % were baked, packed and stored for up to 11 days at 5 C then second-baked at 180 or 200 C for various times to give an oven-fresh end product. The quality of the rebaked bread was dependent on characteristics of the part-baked bread, its storage conditions and the processing parameters of the second baking phase. Quality parameters evaluated were bread volume yield, crumb and crust firmness, moisture content and colour. Staling of the part-baked bread during storage at 5 C and the reversion of this process at 59 C was investigated with regard to rebaking time and temperature. Rebaking conditions were optimized by evaluating the core temperature increase in the centre of the bread. Immediately after the second baking phase a post-baking temperature increase was measured which allowed reduction of the in-oven rebaking time. The data were modelled mathematically using least squares analyses.  相似文献

Lean duplex stainless steels (LDSSs) with lower nickel and molybdenum are less susceptible to suffer spinodal decomposition than standard duplex stainless steels. It is the purpose of this work to study the effect of thermal embrittlement on the low cycle fatigue behaviour of 2 LDSSs with different Creq and Nieq. The correlation between the fatigue behaviour and the dislocation structure is attempted. Transmission electron microscopy was used to observe the dislocation microstructure. Additionally, STEM‐EDS technique in conjunction with Vickers microhardness measurements was used to characterize the amplitude of the spinodal decomposition. The results show that the LDSS with lower Creq and Nieq values exhibits improved fatigue properties in the as received and aged conditions. Furthermore, it is important to emphasize that with an adequate volume fraction of phases in LDSSs, the ageing treatment leads to an increase in strength without causing a great detriment in low cycle fatigue life.  相似文献

Sugarcane’s (Saccharum spp.) response to Diatraea saccharalis (F.) (Lepidoptera: (Crambidae) herbivory was investigated using a macroarray spotted with 248 sugarcane Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) encoding serine peptidase inhibitors, serine peptidases. and Clp protease system subunits. Our results showed that after nine hours of herbivory, 13 sugarcane genes were upregulated and nine were downregulated. Among the upregulated genes, nine were similar to serine peptidase inhibitors and four were similar to Bowman-Birk Inhibitors (BBIs). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that these sequences belong to a phylogenetic group of sugarcane BBIs that are potentially involved in plant defense against insect predation. The remaining four upregulated genes included serine peptidases and one homolog to the Arabidopsis AAA+ chaperone subunit ClpD, which is a member of the Clp protease system. Among the downregulated genes, five were homologous to serine peptidases and four were homologous to Arabidopsis Clp subunits (three homologous to Clp AAA+ chaperones and one to a ClpP-related ClpR subunit). Although the roles of serine peptidase inhibitors in plant defenses against herbivory have been extensively investigated, the roles of plant serine peptidases and the Clp protease system represent a new and underexplored field of study. The up- and downregulated D. saccharalis genes presented in this study may be candidate genes for the further investigation of the sugarcane response to herbivory.  相似文献

The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of oil concentration and homogenization pressure on the emulsion and particle properties during the microencapsulation of basil essential oil by spray drying, using gum arabic as the wall material. Experiments were planned according a 22 rotational central composite design. The independent variables were oil concentration with respect to total solids (10–25%) and homogenization pressure (0–100 MPa). Emulsions were analyzed for droplet mean diameter, stability, and viscosity, and particles were analyzed for oil retention, moisture content, particle size, and morphology. Emulsion viscosity was not affected by any of the independent variables. The increase in the homogenization pressure from 0 to 100 MPa resulted in smaller emulsion droplet size (down to 0.40 µm) and, consequently, higher oil retention (up to 95%). On the other hand, higher oil loads (25%) resulted in poorer oil retention (51.22%). Microencapsulation of basil essential oil using gum arabic as the wall material proved to be a suitable process to obtain powdered basil essential oil, presenting great oil retention with the use of lower oil concentration and higher homogenization pressure.  相似文献

3‐(9‐Carbazolyl)propane‐1,2‐diol was obtained in the reaction of 9‐(2,3‐epoxypropyl)carbazole with water. The obtained diol was further used for modification of unsaturated polyester resin to produce enhanced thermal and heat resistance in comparison with classic resins. The properties of polyesters and polyester resins modified with 3‐(9‐carbazolyl)propane‐1,2‐diol were studied in detail. When 3‐(9‐carbazolyl)propane‐1,2‐diol is used instead of propylene glycol the unsaturated polyester resins possess enhanced thermal stability.© 2013 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

This paper describes methodology for direct and indirect detections of a specific oligonucleotide for Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) using electrochemical techniques. The sequence of oligonucleotide probe (EBV1) revealed a high sequence identity (100%) with the EBV genome. For the development of the genosensor, EBV1 was grafted to the platform sensitized with poly(4-aminothiophenol). After that, the hybridization reaction was carried out with the complementary target (EBV2) on the modified electrode surface using ethidium bromide as DNA intercalator. The oxidation peak currents of ethidium bromide increased linearly with the values of the concentration of the complementary sequences in the range from 3.78 to 756 μmol·L−1. In nonstringent experimental conditions, this genosensor can detect 17.32 nmol·L−1 (three independent experiments) of oligonucleotide target, discriminating between complementary and non-complementary oligonucleotides, as well as differentiating one-base mismatch, as required for detection of genetic diseases caused by point mutations. The biosensor also displayed high specificity to the EBV target with elimination of interference from mix (alanine, glucose, uric acid, ascorbic acid, bovine serum albumin (BSA), glutamate and glycine) and good stability (120 days). In addition, it was possible to observe differences between hybridized and non-hybridized surfaces through atomic force microscopy.  相似文献

In this paper an unprecedent thermo-reversible sol–gel transition for titania nanoparticles dispersed in a solution of p-toluene sulfonic acid (PTSH) in isopropanol is reported. The sol formed by the thermo-hydrolysis at 60 °C of titanium tetraisopropoxide (Ti(OiPr)4) reversibly changes into a turbid gel upon cooling to room temperature. Turbidimetric measurements performed for samples containing different nominal acidity ratios (A = [PTSH]/[Ti]) have evidenced that the gel transformation temperature increases from 20 to 35 °C as the [PTSH]/[Ti] ratio increases from 0.2 to 2.0. SAXS results indicate that the thermo-reversible gelation is associated to a reversible aggregation of a monodisperse set of titania nanoparticles with average gyration radius of ≈2 nm. From the different PTSH species evidenced by Raman spectroscopy and TG/DTA of dried gels we proposed that the thermo-reversible gelation in this systems is induced by the formation of a supramolecular network, in which the protonated surface of nanoparticles is interconnected through cooperative hydrogen bonds between –SO3 groups of p-toluene sulfonic acid.  相似文献
