The autonomic nervous system (ANS) plays a crucial role both in acute and chronic psychological stress eliciting changes in many local and systemic physiological and biochemical processes. Salivary secretion is also regulated by ANS. In this study, we explored salivary proteome changes produced in thirty-eight University students by a test stress, which simulated an oral exam. Students underwent a relaxation phase followed by the stress test during which an electrocardiogram was recorded. To evaluate the effect of an olfactory stimulus, half of the students were exposed to a pleasant odor diffused in the room throughout the whole session. Saliva samples were collected after the relaxation phase (T0) and the stress test (T1). State anxiety was also evaluated at T0 and T1. Salivary proteins were separated by two-dimensional electrophoresis, and patterns at different times were compared. Spots differentially expressed were trypsin digested and identified by mass spectrometry. Western blot analysis was used to validate proteomic results. Anxiety scores and heart rate changes indicated that the fake exam induced anxiety. Significant changes of α-amylase, polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (PIGR), and immunoglobulin α chain (IGHA) secretion were observed after the stress test was performed in the two conditions. Moreover, the presence of pleasant odor reduced the acute social stress affecting salivary proteome changes. Therefore, saliva proteomic analysis was a useful approach to evaluate the rapid responses associated to an acute stress test also highlighting known biomarkers.  相似文献

In this work we make a first, partial, assessment of the low- to medium-temperature geothermal reserves of Mexico. The assessment covers about 30% of the identified geothermal surface manifestations. For reserve assessment we use the volume method, supplemented by Montecarlo simulations and statistics, in order to quantify the inherent uncertainties. We estimate these reserves as lying between 7.7 × 1016 and 8.6 × 1016 kJ, with 90% confidence. The distribution of most likely reservoir temperatures is in the 60–180 °C range, with a mean of 111 °C. These massive amounts of recoverable energy and the associated temperatures are potentially important for the economic development of the associated geothermal localities.  相似文献

Pressure and temperature developing profiles for crude oil transportation pipelines are simulated under a diversity of external boundary conditions. MOLCV is used in this research to convert a system of partial differential equations into a system of ordinary first order differential equations in cylindrical coordinates. Momentum and energy balance equations are coupled in crude oil flows because of thermal–physical property variations. Simulation solutions show the effect of boundary conditions in the pressure drop profile, which provide potential model predictive applications to account for weather forecast in crude oil transportation operations.  相似文献

This paper illustrates a simple method for evaluating the energy output of windgenerators of known main characteristics in a site of known wind typology. The method is based on the matching of a model of the WECS with the Weibull model of wind regime. To enter the method the following quantities must be known: Weibull shape parameter and mean wind speed, turbine diameter, hub height, cut-in and nominal wind speeds and nominal power. With these quantities one can enter a diagram that gives the value of the plant utilisation factor for any specific siting. In this work, we report the morphological and electrochromic properties of electrochemically synthesized polyaniline (PANI) thin films on bare and modified indium–tin oxide (ITO) glass substrates. In the last case, the surface of ITO glass was covered by a self-assembled monolayer of N-phenyl-γ-aminopropyl-trimethoxysilane (PAPTS). Atomic force microscopy images and perfilometry show that smoother and thinner PANI films were grown on PAPTS-modified ITO substrates. PANI-based electrochromic devices (ECDs) were assembled by using a viscous polymeric electrolyte (PE) of LiClO4 and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) co-dissolved in a mixture of propylene and ethylene carbonate. The architectural design of the devices was glass/ITO/PANI/PE/ITO/glass. A dual ECD was also prepared by collocating a poly(3-methylthiophene) (P3MT) thin film as a complementary electrochromic element. The effect of the PAPTS-modified ITO substrate is reflected in a higher optical transmittance at bleach state and a little less color change at 550 nm of PANI-based ECDs.  相似文献

The effect of oral administration, for 24 or 48 hr, of different octadeca fatty acids containing a 9,12-dienoic structure on the fatty acid composition and Δ9 desaturation activity of liver microsomes of rat fed a fat-free diet was studied. The ethyl esters of linoelaidic and γ-linolenic acids, the methyl ester of linoleic acid and free columbinic acid were administered to rats maintained on a fat-free diet. The supplementation of the fat-free diet with linoelaidate produced no relevant changes in the fatty acid composition pattern of liver microsomes and did not modify the percentage of conversion of palmitic to palmitoleic acid. The addition of linoleate or γ-linolenate to the fat-free diet returned liver microsome Δ9 desaturation activity toward the control and partially restored the liver microsome fatty acid spectrum found in the fat-free diet. Columbinic acid (5-trans-9-cis,12-cis-18∶3), which cannot be transformed into arachidonic acid, also decreased the Δ9 desaturation activity enhanced by the fat-free diet and evoked changes in the microsomal fatty acid composition similar to those produced by the ω6 fatty acids. These results suggest that the modulation of Δ9 desaturase activity evoked by dietary administration of unsaturated acids of ω6 series would depend on thecis double bond configuration of these acids.  相似文献

The main purpose of this work is to show the ability of the TCS (task configuration system) to perform both the design and the operation optimization of power plants. The TCS is a module that permits to set the main task of each one of the equipments of the system and consequently setting how they respond to variable loads. In this work, the TCS was applied to a micro cogeneration plant of 60 kW in which both the electrical and the thermal loads were variable. Primarily, the design optimization of the nominal power of the equipments and of the TCS configuration was performed for the loads and electricity/fuel costs assumed in the design. After this operational optimizations in cases where the loads and electricity/fuel costs were doubled and then halved in relation to the standard case were performed. The results presented the TCS in a very robust way in most of the cases even the operational conditions being very different from the originally assumed. Based on the results, it is possible to defend the use of the TCS to decrease the risk of high initial investments made in cogeneration systems.  相似文献

The fatty acid composition and biosynthesis of fatty acids were studied during early embryogenesis of the toadBufo arenarum Hensel. The ova and stages up to the 6 1/2 day embryo have similar fatty acid compositions, with ca. 70% unsaturated acids. The eggs and embryo were permeable to acetate and impermeable to palmitic, linoleic, and eicosa-8,11,14-trienoic acid. Labeled acetate was incorporated by the eggs into the saturated acids-lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, arachidic, and behenic-and into the unsaturated acids-myristoleic, palmitoleic, oleic, and eicosaenoic acids. During segmentation and gastrulation, de novo biosynthesis of fatty acids increased, desaturation to myristoleic, palmitoleic, and oleic acids was enhanced; and fatty acids were esterified to triglycerides, phosphatidyl choline, and phosphatidyl ethanolamine. The feeding embryo (11 days) changed the pattern of incorporation to less incorporation into triglycerides.  相似文献

A study was made of the diurnal changes in liver microsomal desaturation of labeled stearic, linoleic and α-linolenic acids to oleic, γ-linolenic and octadeca-6,9,12,15-tetraenoic acids, respectively. C3H-S mice were used and were exposed to light-dark cycles. A circadian rhythm was observed for stearic acid desaturation, and a different one for linoleic acid. Linoleic and α-linolenic desaturation had similar responses in the day cycle. This would indicate that different mechanisms control the oxidative desaturations of the fatty acids in the 9 and 6 carbons. The fatty acid composition of the whole liver and liver microsomes also showed variations. Remarkable oscillations were observed for stearic and oleic acids. Neither the total protein synthesis nor the free fatty acid concentration in the microsomes followed a rhythm parallel to the desaturation of the studied fatty acids. The injection of cycloheximide 4 hr before measuring the desaturation modified the circadian variation of both the 9 and 6 desaturations. The modification induced by cycloheximide was considered to indicate that both variations are related to the synthesis of specific proteins but not to that of a degradative or inhibitory protein.  相似文献
