This paper describes the development of multi response optimization technique using utility method to predict and select the optimal setting of machining parameters in wire electro-discharge machining (WEDM) process. The experimental studies in WEDM process were conducted under varying experimental conditions of process parameters, such as pulse on time(Ton), pulse off time(Toff), peak current (IP), wire feed (WF), wire tension (WT) and servo voltage (SV) using pure titanium as work material. Experiments were planned using Taguchi’s L27 orthogonal array. Multi response optimization was performed for both cutting speed (CS) and surface roughness (SR) using utility concept to find out the optimal process parameter setting. The level of significance of the machining parameters for their effect on the CS and SR was determined by using analysis of variance (ANOVA). Finally, confirmation experiment was performed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed optimal condition.  相似文献

The present study describes the production of hyaluronan based porous microparticles by a semi-continuous gas anti-solvent (GAS) precipitation process to be used as a growth factor delivery system for in vivo treatment of ulcers. Operative process conditions, such as pressure, nozzle diameter and HYAFF11 solution concentrations, were adjusted to optimize particle production in terms of morphology and size. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and light scattering demonstrated that porous nano-structured particles with a size of 300 and 900 nm had a high specific surface suitable for absorption of growth factors from the aqueous environment within the polymeric matrix. Water acted as a plasticizer, enhancing growth factor absorption. Water contents within the HYAFF11 matrix were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The absorption process was developed using fluorescence dyes and growth factors. Immunohistochemical analysis confirmed the high efficiency of absorption of growth factor and a mathematical model was generated to quantify and qualify the in vitro kinetics of growth factor release within the polymeric matrix. In vivo experiments were performed with the aim to optimize timed and focal release of PDGF to promote optimal tissue repair and regeneration of full-thickness wounds.  相似文献

Osteoarthritis, the most common joint disorder, is characterised by deterioration of the articular cartilage. Many studies have identified potential therapeutic targets, yet no effective treatment has been determined. The aim of this study was to identify and rank osteoarthritis-associated genes and micro-RNAs to prioritise those most integral to the disease. A systematic meta-analysis of differentially expressed mRNA and micro-RNAs in human osteoarthritic cartilage was conducted. Ingenuity pathway analysis identified cellular senescence as an enriched pathway, confirmed by a significant overlap (p < 0.01) with cellular senescence drivers (CellAge Database). A co-expression network was built using genes from the meta-analysis as seed nodes and combined with micro-RNA targets and SNP datasets to construct a multi-source information network. This accumulated and connected 1689 genes which were ranked based on node and edge aggregated scores. These bioinformatic analyses were confirmed at the protein level by mass spectrometry of the different zones of human osteoarthritic cartilage (superficial, middle, and deep) compared to normal controls. This analysis, and subsequent experimental confirmation, revealed five novel osteoarthritis-associated proteins (PPIB, ASS1, LHDB, TPI1, and ARPC4-TTLL3). Focusing future studies on these novel targets may lead to new therapies for osteoarthritis.  相似文献

This paper presents the atmospheric occurrence and seasonal variations of the most frequently detected organophosphorus insecticides (OPs) and their OP oxon degradation products at Bratt's Lake, Saskatchewan in the Canadian Prairies (April 2003 to March 2004, January-December, 2005) and at Abbotsford in the Lower Frazer Valley (LFV) of British Columbia from May 2004 to December, 2005. During 2005 there were 10 OPs, 8 OP oxons, and 6 other OP degradation products measured. The most frequently detected OPs were chlorpyrifos, malathion, and diazinon. At Bratt's Lake the highest atmospheric concentrations were observed for chlorpyrifos, with maximum concentrations observed during July and August in 2003 showing much higher concentrations than those from 2005. This was related to its usage for grasshopper control in the province. At Abbotsford, diazinon and malathion were observed in much higher atmospheric concentrations than chlorpyrifos. Concentrations reached maximum in spring for diazinon and summer for malathion. This study is the first reported study of seasonal variations of OP oxons with their parent OP. Chlorpyrifos oxon concentrations during July were generally low, indicating strong local source contributions. The chlorpyrifos oxon/chlorpyrifos ratio and diazinon oxon/diazinon ratio showed a strong seasonal variation with increasing ratio from spring to summer which was attributed to increasing sunlight hours. Malathion oxon/mathion at both sites was similar and relatively constant throughout the year. The oxon/thion ratio represents a good indicator of age of source or contributions from local versus regional atmospheric sources.  相似文献

Growing perception about diet in relation to health has extended the necessity to explore the biologically active components present in native foods. In this review, bioactive peptides released from cheeses that may have important physiological functions are discussed. Bioactive encrypted peptides can be generated from precursor milk proteins during food processing via enzymatic hydrolysis and fermentation. Generally, biofunctionalities of peptides are latent within precursor proteins. Bioactive peptides liberated from cheeses exhibit numerous potential therapeutic roles: for example, angiotensinogen‐converting enzyme (ACE) inhibition, antioxidant, anti‐thrombotic, anti‐microbial, anti‐cancer and anti‐inflammatory. This article critically focuses on the functional roles of bioactive peptides derived from different cheeses.  相似文献

Block copolymer nanostructures are smart, intelligent, and environment sensitive nanostructures designed to respond in a controlled manner to an external stimulus. Block copolymer nanostructures are being extensively utilized in pharmaceutical field, nanotechnology, and inforensics. Upon micellization, the hydrophobic core of block copolymer nanostructures region serves as a reservoir for hydrophobic medication, which can be loaded by chemical, physical, or electrostatic means. DNA combined with synthetic block copolymer nanostructure enhances the chemical and biological behaviors of biomacromolecule and at the same time completely suppress undesirable properties. Novel Nanoelectromechanical Systems/Microelectromechanical Systems (NEMS/MEMS) devices are being realized using block copolymer nanostructures and DNA combined with inorganic material nanoparticles and small organic moieties.  相似文献

A century ago, Camillo Golgi discovered in neurons an intracellular network of anastomosing threads, impregnated by the chromoargentic reaction he had devised to stain the nervous tissue. This structure, designated by Golgi as 'internal reticular apparatus', was soon detected in a wide variety of eukaryotic cells. However, skepticism arose on the existence of the Golgi apparatus in the first decades of this century, when it was fiercely debated whether this structure represented a genuine new cell constituent or an artifact due to the deposit of metallic impregnation on diverse cytoplasmic structures. The reality of the Golgi apparatus became established unequivocally only with the application of electron microscopy; with the visualization of its fine structure, the apparatus finally achieved the status of cytoplasmic organelle, and thus, linked with Golgi's name, entered the modern era of investigation on its components, chemistry and function.  相似文献
