Some picolinium ionic liquids (IL) [α/γ‐PicC n][Br/NO3] (n = 3, 5, 7) were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR data. The surface tension and density of all the IL were determined. The aggregation behavior of these IL in aqueous medium and in dichloromethane was assessed from the variation of electrical conductivity in these media. The critical aggregation concentrations of these IL in aqueous medium were found to decrease significantly by the addition of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The structural features and the conformation of these IL were further investigated by using density functional theory calculations. The bromide ion was found to be inclined asymmetrically to one side of the pyridinium nucleus, while the nitrogen of the nitrate group lies close to the nitronium ion of the pyridinium nucleus.  相似文献

The dielectric relaxation characteristics of conductive carbon black (CCB) reinforced ethylene acrylic elastomer (AEM) vulcanizates have been studied as a function of frequency (101–106 Hz) at different filler loading over a wide range of temperatures (30–120°C). The effect of filler loadings on the dielectric permittivity (ε′), loss tangent (tan δ), complex impedance (Z*), and electrical conductivity (σac) were studied. The variation of ε′ with filler loading has been explained based on the interfacial polarization of the fillers within a heterogeneous system. The effect of filler loading on the imaginary (Z″) and real (Z′) part of Z* were distinctly visible, which may be due to the relaxation dynamics of polymer chains at the polymer–filler interface. The frequency dependency of σac has been investigated using percolation theory. The phenomenon of percolation in the composites has been discussed in terms of σac. The percolation threshold (?crit) occurred in the range of 20–30 phr (parts per hundred) of filler loading. The effect of temperature on tan δ, ε′, σac, and Nyquist plots of CCB‐based AEM vulcanizates has been investigated. Several castor oil‐based polyurethanes (PUs) samples were synthesized using various diisocyanates such as hexamethylene diisocyanate (HMDI) with varying NCO/OH ratios. All the PUs were reacted with methacrylamide (MAM) using an ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDM) crosslinker and benzoyl peroxide as an initiator. Thermogravimetric analysis of the polymers was followed using a computer analysis method for assigning the kinetic mechanism. The degradation steps are discussed in the light of kinetic parameters. The scanning electronic microscopy of some of the interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) were studied and the morphology was examined. The samples were subjected to wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction analysis. Ruland and Vonk's method was used to calculate the degree of crystallinity. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The graft copolymerization of N-vinyl pyrrolidone (N-VP) onto cellulose was carried out with a cobalt acetylacetonate complex Co(acac)3 as an initiator under a nitrogen atmosphere at 50 ± 0.1°C. The graft yield percentage (%G) obtained as a function of the concentrations of N-VP and Co(acac)3 and the temperature was used to calculate various other grafting parameters and the grafting rate dependence on the concentrations of monomer, Co(acac)3 and reaction temperature. The energy of activation (ΔEa) for the grafting of N-VP onto cellulose was 22.7 kJ/mol within 40–60°C. The molecular weights of the grafted chains and homopolymers were determined viscometrically with a Ubbelohde-type viscometer. Graft yield (%G) in the presence of various additives such as sodium lauryl sulfate, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, and methanol was studied, and the results are suitably explained. On the basis of the experimental results, a reaction scheme for graft copolymerization is proposed, and a kinetic rate expression is presented. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. We outline a low‐order Lagrangian model for the inertial dynamics of spreading and imbibition of a spherical liquid cap on a plane featuring independent cylindrical capillaries without gravity. The analysis predicts the relative roles of radial and axial kinetic energy, reveals the critical Laplace number beyond which the drop oscillates, and attributes the exponent of the initial power‐law for contact patch radius vs. time to the form of capillary potential energy just after the liquid sphere touches the plate. © 2017 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 63: 5474–5481, 2017  相似文献

Recently, much attention has been focused on the development of gel based formulations for controlled drug delivery applications. Herein, we report the effect of the ionic (gum acacia) and the non‐ionic (guar gum) gums on the properties of the bigels prepared with fluid‐filled organogels. The microscopic study suggested the presence of flocculated structure in guar gum bigel, whereas, a de‐flocculated structure was observed in gum acacia bigel. Infrared spectroscopy suggested the presence of polysaccharides in the bigels. The mechanical properties of the guar gum bigel were better than gum acacia bigel. The conductivity and the release properties suggested superior properties of gum acacia bigel. This indicated that the ionic nature of acacia bigel played a major role in controlled drug delivery, making it a potential bigel for desired pharmaceutical applications. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this study, the effect of annealing temperature and alumina particles on micro-hardness, corrosion, wear, and friction of Ni-P-Al2O3 composites coating is studied. The electroless nickel composite coating with various alumina particle content is deposited on a mild steel substrate. The corrosion behaviour and tribological behaviour (wear and friction) of the composite coated samples are investigated and compared with Ni-P coated samples. The micro-hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance of the composite coating improved significantly after heat treatment (400 °C) and in the presence of alumina particles. The composite coating deposited with alumina particle concentration of 10 g/L in an electroless bath and heat treated at 400 °C shows excellent results compared to Ni-P, as-deposited Ni-P-Al2O3 coating and coatings heat treated at different annealing temperature (200 °C, 300 °C, and 500 °C). Microstructure changes and composition of the composite coatings due to incorporation of alumina particles and heat treatment are studied with the help of SEM (scanning electron microscopy), EDX (energy dispersive X-ray analysis and XRD (X-ray diffraction analysis).  相似文献

This paper presents the design of output feedback controllers for discrete-time (DT) linear systems. New sufficient LMI conditions are derived for designing static H 2 $$ {H}_2 $$ and H $$ {H}_{\infty } $$ controllers using decomposition of an auxiliary matrix. The decomposition facilitates linearization of nonlinear term of reduced size to obtain linear matrix inequality criteria. This leads to less conservative results as shown in the numerical examples. In addition, the proposed static output feedback criteria is also used for designing dynamic output feedback controllers for DT systems. Furthermore, a comparative study is also made for the proposed design method with the results existing in the literature. Finally, a DT static output feedback H $$ {H}_{\infty } $$ controller is designed for a quarter-car suspension system. Simulation results are provided to show the efficacy of the proposed design method.  相似文献

The quality of lubricating base oils used worldwide is changing rapidly as a result of stringent environmental regulation and the pressing need for oils to perform well under severe operating conditions. For example, although the base oil market in India now depends entirely on conventional group I base oils, group II and III base oils will soon be mandatory in lubrication formulation. These oils are generally more stable towards oxidation due to the virtual absence of heteroatom‐containing compounds and to their low aromatic content. The analytical procedures developed over the years for the characterization of new and used group I mineral base oils will not be successful for all the requirements of these new oils. Thus, a systematic study is required to test the universal validity of characterisation methodology for these new‐generation base fluids. This paper focuses on the use of various analytical techniques for base oil characterization and the methodology required for the total characterization of new‐generation base oils.  相似文献
