A novel photoreactive polymer with histidine polar groups was synthesized through the copolymerization of two types of methacrylic acid, one carrying histidine groups and the other carrying azidoaniline groups. The polymer was photoimmobilized on polyester disks for surface modification. The effect of the surface modification on the hydrophilic and biofouling properties was investigated. Static contact angle measurements showed that the polymeric surface was modified to be comparatively hydrophilic in the polymer‐immobilized region. Micropattern immobilization was carried out with a photolithographic method. Atomic force microscopy measurements showed that the polymer was formed on the disks in response to ultraviolet irradiation. Protein adsorption was reduced on the polymer‐immobilized regions, and in those regions, spreading and adhesion of mammalian cells were reduced in comparison with that in nonimmobilized regions. In conclusion, a novel histidine‐containing polymer was photoreactively immobilized on a conventional polymer surface, and it had reduced interaction with proteins and cells. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 0.24Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O3-0.42Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.34PbTiO3 transparent ceramics were fabricated by a conventional sintering technique. Through optimization of sintering conditions of calcination and sintering temperatures and time, the obtained ceramics showed high optical transmittance of 53% and 71% at light wavelengths of 1300 and 2000 nm, respectively. The ceramics showed a rhombohedral to tetragonal phase transition at ~120°C and a tetragonal to cubic phase transition at 222°C. These transition temperatures were higher than those of 0.67Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)-0.33PbTiO3 ceramics. In addition, the ceramics had a ferroelectric hysteresis loop, a large piezoelectric constant d33 of 407 pC/N, and a planar electromechanical coupling factor kp of 52%. These results suggest that the transparent ceramics may be used as a temperature-stable, linear electro-optic material.  相似文献

Calculation of the underground temperature resulting from heat injection/extraction into/from ground heat exchangers (GHEXs) with hourly variation is one of the most noteworthy challenges to address when simulating and designing a ground source heat pump (GSHP). In order to overcome this challenge, the authors introduce a method to calculate the underground temperature, by considering heat injection/extraction into/from GHEXs with hourly variation. The method applies the superposition of the infinite cylindrical source (ICS) solution and the infinite line source (ILS) solution to calculate the temperature change due to heat injection/extraction into/from the considered GHEX and other neighboring GHEXs, respectively. The calculation method also considers heat injection/extraction from GHEXs with different heat injection/extraction rates and is able to accommodate GHEXs with large diameters such as energy piles. The calculation method was evaluated by applying it to calculate the temperature variation of the heat carrier fluid in a GSHP system with energy piles.  相似文献

Although the fundamentals of Endovascular Surgery were set down over 30 years ago, only recently has the potential impact of this therapy become readily apparent. Endovascular therapies with new instrumentation for the treatment of arterial aneurysms, occlusions, trauma, and venous thrombotic disorders have progressed dramatically over the past 5 years. Guidewire and catheter techniques for endovascular instrumentation of vessels have also been shown to compliment standard vascular surgical interventions. The need for vascular surgeons to obtain the knowledge and professional skills to perform wire and catheter techniques is essential to convert the professional "threat" of endovascular surgery to a future of "opportunity."  相似文献

Importance: To reduce the frequency of dorzolamide eye drop administration and increasing the duration of action.

Background: This study aims to compare the effect of dorzolamide loaded-nanoliposome with marketed dorzolamide HCl eye drop on intraocular pressure in primary open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension patients.

Design: A randomized study was conducted in a hospital.

Participants: Twenty patients with primary open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (in both eyes) diagnosis were recruited as participants.

Methods: Dorzolamide loaded-nanoliposome was prepared by thin layer hydration method and characterized. Intra ocular pressure were compared between the two groups who received marketed dorzolamide solution or dorzolamide-loaded nanoliposome.

Main outcome measures: The main outcome measures include intraocular pressure initially (day 0) and on days 14 and 28 and adverse effect of dorzolamide-loaded nanoliposome eye drop.

Results: Based on the results of repeated measure, intra ocular pressure was seen to decrease in both the groups. But these reductions in the intervention group (dorzolamide-loaded eye drop) were significantly higher than those in control group (p?Conclusion: This study confirmed safety and long-lasting efficacy of dorzolamide loaded-nanoliposome eye drop. The highly enhanced permeation through the cornea can be attributed to similarity of phospholipid bilayer of liposomes to the biological membrane and their small particle size and positive zeta potential.  相似文献

Mercury-contaminated effluent was discharged into Minamata Bay from a chemical plant over a 20-year period until 1965 (from 1958 to 1959, effluent was discharged into Minamata River), causing Minamata disease. In an effort to characterize the extent of the contamination in the Yatsushiro Sea, the vertical and horizontal distributions of mercury in sediment were investigated. Sediment was sampled at 62 locations in the southern part of the sea from 4 to 6 March 1996. In the lower layers of the long cores of sediment, the total amount of mercury was at a relatively uniform low concentration. We interpret these low values to represent the background concentration absent of anthropogenic influence. The background value thus estimated for the Yatsushiro Sea was 0.059 +/- 0.013 mg kg(-1) (mean +/- S.D., n = 51). The highest concentration in each sample ranged from 0.086 to 3.46 mg kg(-1) (mean, 0.57 mg kg(-1)). The higher values were obtained at stations near Minamata Bay and the Minamata River (the sources of the pollution). Concentrations decreased with distance from the source. An inspection of the vertical profiles of mercury concentration in cores suggested that the deposited mercury had not been fixed in sediment but had been transported, despite 30 years having past since the last discharge of contaminated effluent. At nine stations, extractable inorganic and organic mercury concentrations were determined differentially. Inorganic mercury is the predominant species in sediment and organic mercury comprising approximately 1% of the total.  相似文献

The oxidation behavior of chromium and the corrosion behavior of austenitic stainless steel in boiling nitric acid solution containing highly concentrated nitrates were investigated using UV-visible spectroscopic measurements, Raman spectral measurements, immersion tests, and potentiodynamic polarization measurements. The oxidation rate measurement of chromium from Cr(III) to Cr(VI) was performed by 1 M boiling nitric acid solution containing each highly concentrated nitrates: Al(NO3)3, Nd(NO3)3, Ca(NO3)2, Mg(NO3)2, and NaNO3 as a simulant of uranium nitrate in uranium concentrator in reprocessing plants. As a result, the rate of chromium oxidation was different depending on the added nitrates even at the same nitric acid concentration. In addition, the oxidation rate of chromium was increased with increasing the calculated partial pressure of nitric acid in consideration of the hydration of cation of nitrates. Furthermore, the corrosion rate of type 310 stainless steel was accelerated by the solution having a high chromium oxidation rate containing nitrates. These results indicated that the acceleration of the corrosion rate in the solutions depending on the oxidation rate of chromium, and the rate is affected by the salt-effect of nitrates.  相似文献

Electrical power demands are increasing every year, meaning that lightweight electric cable is needed which has high transmission capacity, high thermal resistance and low sag. Tokyo Electric Power Co., Chubu Electric Power Co. and Hitachi Cable Ltd. have been breaking new ground in the field of electric cable through the development of a SiC fiber reinforced aluminum conductor. In this work, the SiC/Al interface reaction during the manufacturing process and the electricity transmission temperature were studied by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and field emission-Auger electron spectroscopy (FE-AES) for long-term reliability assessment. No reaction products were detected at the SiC/Al interface of elemental wire consisting of 7 SiC/Al preformed wires, indicating that the wire manufacturing process was reliable. An Al4C3 product was detected locally at the SiC/Al interface of the wire which had been thermally treated in molten Al under unfavorable conditions. The activation energy, Q, of Al4C3 growth at the SiC/Al interface was about 190 kJ/mol. In the temperature range of electricity transmission, Al atoms diffused into SiC fiber during heat treatment, and the amount of the diffused Al increased with increasing treatment temperature and holding time. The activation energy of Al diffusion through the SiC/Al interface to SiC fiber was about 78 kJ/mol. Strength deterioration was not induced by Al diffusion into SiC fiber, but strength strongly depended on the formation of Al2SiO5 compound at the SiC/Al interface above 400°C transmission temperatures. Kinetics calculations indicated that the rate of strength deterioration of the composite cable, held at 300°C for 36 years, was about 5%, so that practical use of SiC/Al composite cable should not be far in the future.  相似文献

The vector control of induction motors is widely used. This method needs accurate motor parameter but the stator and rotor resistance vary due to motor temperature variation. If the value of resistance in the controller can be set up accurately at first, there must be a difference between the reference and real value of torque because of drift of the resistance. It is necessary to adapt the resistance value. The indirect field‐oriented control of an induction motor requires the value of rotor resistance only, but the direct field‐oriented control method with rotor flux observer requires the value of not only rotor resistance but also stator resistance in the controller. Consequently, it is necessary to adapt both stator resistance and rotor resistance. A parameter adaptation scheme has previously been proposed for the direct field‐oriented control method with rotor flux observer, but this method cannot be used when the motor is in regenerating operation. In this paper, a new stator and rotor resistance adaptation scheme is proposed, which can be applied when the motor is in regenerating operation.
