In the past decade, business process outsourcing (BPO) has emerged as an important economic and business issue. Successful offshoring and outsourcing of business processes to low-cost destinations has made BPO a strategic decision. Inconsistencies at the client and service provider levels globally are requiring clients to build competencies in outsourcing management. Clients are further pushing service providers to build capabilities such as business process management and information technology management competencies. A research survey is carried out with European clients to identify the critical competencies of the service provider and clients for building a successful relationship. The survey indicates that the clients’ focus is on BPO outcome delivery for building successful relationship and not so much on the service provider's competencies.  相似文献

VoiceLETS accesses data in the existing Law Enforcement Tactical System. LETS is a secure Web-based search engine designed to provide personal and vehicle information to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. It integrates access to several state databases and currently includes photographs, addresses, personal characteristics, and driver and criminal histories from the state's motor vehicles and corrections departments. The University of Alabama's CARE Research and Development Laboratory developed LETS with the goal of making it available to all qualifying agencies over the Internet, including patrol officers using mobile data terminals.  相似文献

The dielectric response of phlogopite mica has been measured for frequency lying between 10 mHz and 10 kHz with humidity as a parameter. The measured complex capacitance shows a low frequency dispersion (LFD) at high humidities. A weak loss peak is also present at high frequencies and low humidity levels. An oxy-hydrogen bio-fuel cell, based on a carbon–carbon electrode has been fabricated. The electrode pellets were prepared by taking carbon powder mixed with polyvinylalcohol as a binder. The anode was charged with Co–Al spinel mixed oxide at 700°C, 30% KOH acted as an electrolyte. For the cyanobacterial bioreactor, a potential heterocystous blue green alga of Nostoc spp. has been used for hydrogen production and electrical energy generation. Various nutrient enrichment techniques are employed to increase the hydrogen generation efficiency of the algae. One litre free cell algal reactor attached to the fuel cell, at the anode end for hydrogen gas input, generated about 300 mV of voltage and 100 mA of current. Our present findings on the development of a low cost fuel cell with high efficiency of current output may be helpful in commercializing this technology. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A systematic comparison of the ginsenosides and anticancer activities was performed among white (air-dried) and red (steamed) roots of notoginseng (NG, Panax notoginseng), Asian ginseng (AG, P. ginseng), and American ginseng (AmG, P. quinquefolius). Chemical profiles of different ginseng species were characterized, through simultaneous quantification of nineteen major ginsenosides, by HPLC-UV at 202 nm. The antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic effects on human colorectal cancer cells were determined by MTS method and flow cytometry, respectively. Chemical analysis indicated that white NG possessed the most abundant ginsenosides, i.e., two- and five-fold higher than white AmG and AG. During the steaming process, extensive conversion of the original polar ginsenosides in white ginseng to new, less polar, degradation compounds in red ginseng was observed. White ginsengs produced weak antiproliferative effects, while red ginsengs exhibited a significant increase in antiproliferative and pro-apoptotic effects (both P < 0.01 vs. white ginseng). Among the three red ginsengs, red NG showed the best anticancer activity. Due to the low cost of NG and high bioactivity of red NG, the red NG is promising to be a useful botanical product in cancer chemoprevention.  相似文献

研发了一种通过MOSFET的超薄栅氧化物分析直接隧穿电流密度的模型。采用Wentzel-Kramers-Brilliouin(WKB)近似计算了隧穿概率,利用清晰的表面势方程改进模型的准确性。在研究模型中考虑了Si衬底中反型层的量子化和多晶硅栅耗尽,还研究了多晶硅掺杂对栅氧化层隧穿电流的影响。仿真结果表明,栅氧化层隧穿电流随多晶硅栅掺杂浓度的增加而增加。该结论与已报道的结果相吻合,从而证明了该模型的正确性。  相似文献

The Quality of Service of Multi-Channel Multi-Radio Wireless Mesh Networks is adversely affected by the complex behavior of interference patterns present between the sender and receiver of a link. This behavior is usually captured using wireless channel interference models. The accuracy of the interference model is highly dependent on the interaction of the Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance Medium Access Control (CSMA/CA MAC) protocol based on the geometric location of the sender and receiver of the link. Therefore, this paper presents a nomenclature of interference modeling schemes available in Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) literature with respect to the geometric location of the sender and receiver of a link. The behavior and limitations of each model are analyzed with the help of empirical examples. The results indicate that Garetto’s model of interfering links is the best choice to model wireless channel interference in WMNs. In addition, this study provides an interference analysis of Garetto’s model for the two link case by computing the conditional packet loss probability of each class of interfering link. The probability analysis concluded that the links with disconnected senders are highly interfering compared to sender connected links. Further, the analysis will assist researchers and engineers in relay node placement, capacity analysis, channel assignment, and topology control schemes in the WMN.  相似文献

Sub-10-nm bulk n-MOSFET(metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor) direct source-todrain tunneling current density using Wentzel-Krammers-Brillouin(WKB) transmission tunneling theory has been simulated.The dependence of the source-to-drain tunneling current on channel length and barrier height is examined.Inversion layer quantization,band-gap narrowing,and drain induced barrier lowering effects have been included in the model.It has been observed that the leakage current density increases severely below 4 nm channel lengths,thus putting a limit to the scaling down of the MOSFETs.The results match closely with the numerical results already reported in literatures.  相似文献
