The influence of soil structure on the breakthrough of a copper contaminant plume when passing through undisturbed decomposed granite soil was studied. The copper concentration was measured in real time by means of two fibre-optic sensors with reflective-type located on either side of the undisturbed granite soil sample. The adsorption properties were also studied by the column and batch testing. It was found that the copper adsorption of both slightly and severely decomposed granite soil followed a Freundlich model, and the measured values of both samples corresponded well with the calculated values. In this paper, the experimentally obtained copper dispersion characteristics are compared with the contour and velocity vectors by FEM analysis using the advection-dispersion equation. It is shown that the copper concentration and velocity distributions in the severely decomposed granite soil are dependent on the usual parameters, such as the modified coefficient of permeability, retardation factor, dispersion length and dispersivity, which control the flow into the macro (>0.1 μm) and meso pores (0.002-0.1 μm).  相似文献

Morphological changes of bismuth-based cuprate superconductors, such as the 2223 phase, via a small mechanical force were studied mainly by means of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. Even light mechanical grinding of the sintered 2223 samples led to the formation of superfine particles that had a width of ∼5 nm. Moreover, we found first that the superfine particles had a discrete thickness of odd numbers of a half unit length c /2 of the 2223 phase, e.g. 1.9 nm, 5.6 nm, and so on. The formation of the superfine particles was due to cleavage at Bi—O double layers that were bound weakly to each other in a unit cell.  相似文献

The tribological performance of halogen-free ionic liquids at steel–steel and diamond-like carbon (DLC)–DLC contacts was investigated. Hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H) and tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) were used as test specimens. Friction tests were carried out on steel–steel, a-C:H–a-C:H, and ta-C–ta-C contacts by using a reciprocating cylinder-on-disk tribotester lubricated with two different types of halogen-free ionic liquids: 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide ([BMIM][DCN]) and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tricyanomethanide ([BMIM][TCC]). From the results of friction tests, the ta-C–ta-C tribopair lubricated with [BMIM][DCN] or [BMIM][TCC] exhibited an ultralow friction coefficient of 0.018–0.03. On the other hand, ultralow friction was not observed at the steel–steel and a-C:H–a-C:H contacts. Measurements obtained with a laser scanning microscope and an atomic force microscope (AFM) showed that a chemical reaction film, derived from the ionic liquid lubricant used, was formed on the steel surfaces. However, this chemical reaction film was not observed on either of the DLC surfaces. The AFM results showed that there were high-viscosity products on the ta-C surfaces, that the wear tracks on the ta-C surfaces exhibited low frictional properties, and that the ta-C surfaces were extremely smooth after the friction tests. Based on these results, it was concluded that an ionic liquid–derived adsorbed film formed on the ta-C surface and resulted in the ultralow friction when lubricated with a halogen-free ionic liquid.  相似文献

Highly crystallized fine powder of strontium titanate (SrTiO3) was obtained at room temperature simply by leaving a vial containing the powder mixture of Sr(OH)2·8H2O and hydrous titania gel (TiO2·nH2O) for 10 d. Solvent and additive(s) used in the conventional low‐temperature process were not used. The crystallinity judged from the FWHM of X‐ray diffraction peak was comparable to that obtained by a solid‐state reaction. To cause the reaction at room temperature, the titania gel had to contain a considerable amount of H2O (n > 0.97). The reaction is considered to be neutralization of titanic acid [H4TiO4 or Ti(OH)4] and strontium hydroxide (base). Using similar process, highly crystallized BaTiO3 powder was also obtained at 60°C. In comparison with the formation temperature of BaTiO3, tolerance factor in the perovskite structure was important for the room‐temperature synthesis of SrTiO3. SrTiO3 was hardly obtained at room temperature by the addition of saturated strontium hydroxide solution to the hydrous TiO2 gel (n = 1.29). Therefore, the reaction seems to proceed in the hydrous titania gel. This process is characterized by three important points; “no solvent”, “no additional reagents”, and above all, “no heating”.  相似文献

Inhibition of amyloid‐β (Aβ) aggregation could be a target of drug development for the treatment of currently incurable Alzheimer's disease. We previously reported that a head‐to‐tail cyclic peptide of KLVFF (cyclic‐KLVFF), a pentapeptide fragment corresponding to the Aβ16–20 region (which plays a critical role in the generating Aβ fibrils), possesses potent inhibitory activity against Aβ aggregation. Here we found that the inhibitory activity of cyclic‐KLVFF was significantly improved by incorporating an additional phenyl group at the β‐position of the Phe4 side chain (inhibitor 3 ). Biophysical and biochemical analyses revealed the rapid formation of 3 ‐embedded oligomer species when Aβ1–42 was mixed with 3 . The oligomer species is an “off‐pathway” species with low affinity for cross‐β‐sheet‐specific dye thioflavin T and oligomer‐specific A11 antibodies. The oligomer species had a sub‐nanometer height and little capability of aggregation to amyloid fibrils. Importantly, the toxicity of the oligomer species was significantly lower than that of native Aβ oligomers. These insights will be useful for further refinement of cyclic‐KLVFF‐based aggregation inhibitors.  相似文献

In industrial high‐intensity discharge lamps, cracks and delaminations occasionally develop at the interface between SiO2 and the Mo foil in the seal. Here, functionally graded SiO2‐Mo materials for use in these lamps were fabricated by uniaxial compression casting and pressureless sintering. Consequently, vertical cracks developed across the sintered body layers, and interfacial cracks developed between the 100 wt% SiO2 and 90 wt% SiO2‐Mo layers. Therefore, the effects of residual stress, difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), and difference in the volume shrinkage on these cracks were investigated. Vertical cracks were suppressed when residual stress was relaxed by annealing near the annealing point of silica glass during the cooling step in the sintering process. Interfacial cracks were suppressed when the difference in the CTE of the interface between the 100 wt% SiO2 and 90 wt% SiO2‐Mo layers was relaxed by inserting layers of 95 wt% SiO2‐Mo between them. Furthermore, the suppression effect became stronger when the difference in the volume shrinkage of the layers was relaxed by sintering to join the separately sintered monolayers. Thus, the development of these cracks was influenced by the residual stress, CTE, and volume shrinkage. Therefore, these cracks can be prevented by optimizing these factors.  相似文献
