Triple base propellant (TBP) containing mainly nitrocellulose, nitroglycerine, and nitroguanidine has been manufactured and coated with plasticizer in the present work. The aim was to study ballistics of di-butyl phthalate (DBP)-coated TBP. DBP solution in ethanol containing nitrocellulose dope was used for coating onto the propellant grains. DBP-deterred propellant showed inhibition to burning, resulting in lowering the values of ballistic parameters namely peak pressure (Pmax), dPmax, pressure index (α), and burning rate coefficient (β) during closed vessel firing. Increase in percentage of DBP in coating solution led to further decrease in ballistic parameters. Dynamic evaluation of the surface-moderated propellant showed comparatively lower muzzle velocity and chamber pressure for deterred propellant batches without leaving any unburnt particles in gun chamber at subzero temperatures with the lowest possible charge mass. The DBP-coated propellant can be useful in 155-mm artillery gun to achieve higher loading density as it has lower flame temperature and chamber pressure as compared to uncoated propellant which will result in increasing barrel life due to reduction in the barrel erosion.  相似文献

Image and video processing techniques are being frequently used in medical science applications. Computer vision-based systems have successfully replaced various manual medical processes such as analyzing physical and biomechanical parameters, physical examination of patients. These systems are gaining popularity because of their robustness and the objectivity they bring to various medical procedures. Hammersmith Infant Neurological Examinations (HINE) is a set of physical tests that are carried out on infants in the age group of 3–24 months with neurological disorders. However, these tests are graded through visual observations, which can be highly subjective. Therefore, computer vision-aided approach can be used to assist the experts in the grading process. In this paper, we present a method of automatic exercise classification through visual analysis of the HINE videos recorded at hospitals. We have used scale-invariant-feature-transform features to generate a bag-of-words from the image frames of the video sequences. Frequency of these visual words is then used to classify the video sequences using HMM. We also present a method of event segmentation in long videos containing more than two exercises. Event segmentation coupled with a classifier can help in automatic indexing of long and continuous video sequences of the HINE set. Our proposed framework is a step forward in the process of automation of HINE tests through computer vision-based methods. We conducted tests on a dataset comprising of 70 HINE video sequences. It has been found that the proposed method can successfully classify exercises with accuracy as high as 84%. The proposed work has direct applications in automatic or semiautomatic analysis of “vertical suspension” and “ventral suspension” tests of HINE. Though some of the critical tests such as “pulled-to-sit,” “lateral tilting,” or “adductor’s angle measurement” have already been addressed using image- and video-guided techniques, scopes are there for further improvement.  相似文献

The coupling of phonons to electrons and other phonons plays a defining role in material properties, such as charge and energy transport, light emission, and superconductivity. In atomic solids, phonons are delocalized over the 3D lattice, in contrast to molecular solids where localized vibrations dominate. Here, a hierarchical semiconductor that expands the phonon space by combining localized 0D modes with delocalized 2D and 3D modes is described. This material consists of superatomic building blocks (Re6Se8) covalently linked into 2D sheets that are stacked into a layered van der Waals lattice. Using transient reflectance spectroscopy, three types of coherent phonons are identified: localized 0D breathing modes of isolated superatom, 2D synchronized twisting of superatoms in layers, and 3D acoustic interlayer deformation. These phonons are coupled to the electronic degrees of freedom to varying extents. The presence of local phonon modes in an extended crystal opens the door to controlling material properties from hierarchical phonon engineering.  相似文献

Two ways of constructing analytic phase function for a polydispersion of small spherical non-absorbing particles have been investigated. First one is a straightforward procedure emanating from the implementation of single particle scattering input into the defined polydisperse phase function. This results in an analytic phase function in terms of moments of the distribution. The second approach is a new strategy, based on the Lagrange mean value theorem. A clear understanding of the relationship between these two approaches has been developed. The efficacy and accuracy of the scattering phase functions is illustrated by applying it to a power-law size distributed sphere ensemble.  相似文献
