The possibility of probing the critical areas of gas wells using acoustic signals is analyzed. The results of investigations
on the evolution of acoustic waves in cylindrical channels with permeable portions surrounded by a porous space are presented.
The quantitative and qualitative features of the dynamics of waves as a function of the state of an inhomogeneous porous medium
are established. Results showing that the state of the reservoir characteristics of rocks has a substantial influence on the
evolution of acoustic signals are obtained.

The conducting and reflecting properties of silver, gold, nickel, iron, chromium, and titanium films are investigated. It is shown that a low conductivity of films relative to bulk materials results from the amorphism of the films and the porosity of their substrates. Two different techniques for measuring the film conductivity are compared: a contact technique and a reflection technique. Calculations are made of the trajectories of return surface magnetostatic waves (SMSWs) in a ferrite-dielectric-metal structure
magnetized by a nonuniform “ridge” field. It is shown that there are four different types of trajectories. Conditions are

Dependences of the signal-to-noise ratio in a jet in the case of forced capillary disintegration of the jet (FCDJ) on the excitation signal, the mean jet velocity, the velocity distribution in the jet, and the jet diameter are derived. It is shown that, for equal excitation amplitudes, the signal-to-noise ratio in the case of FCDJ depends on the jet diameter and the velocity profile.
