In this study the desizing, scouring, bleaching and slack mercerising of cotton fabric by a one–step process at different sodium hydroxide concentrations, impregnation temperatures and curing times were examined. The results indicate that when the fabrics are mercerised at lower temperature, the strength retention and colour strength are enhanced. When the sodium hydroxide concentration is increased, these properties also increase. When cotton fabrics are mercerised for 3 min at 40C and cured for 30 s at 120C, their physical properties are similar to those obtained using a conventional two–step approach.  相似文献

INTRODUCTION: Global amnesia (AG) is a dysfunction of memory, in which there is a sudden incapacity to remember recent events and assimilate new information. The aetiology is currently under discussion. The main hypotheses under consideration are an ischemic mechanism and an epileptic mechanism. OBJECTIVE: To study the cerebral blood flow in patients with temporary global amnesia (AGT) or permanent global amnesia (AGP) using functional neuroimaging techniques. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Four patients were studied. Two had severe alterations of fixation memory which had been present for months. The other two had a sudden loss of recent memory, although space-person orientation and immediate memory remained normal. In all cases the cerebral blood flow (FSC), was assessed by single photon emission tomography (SPECT), using Tc-HMPAO as the radio tracer. RESULTS: We describe 4 patients, 2 men and 2 women aged between 42 and 64.2 with AGT and the others with AGP. On SPECT there was temporal hypoperfusion in all 4 patients. In 2 cases there was associated parietal hypoperfusion and in 1 case there was frontal hypoperfusion. CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that AGT and AGP are of vascular origin and that SPECT is a useful diagnostic technique in patients with AG.  相似文献

1-Butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium hexafluorophosphate (BMP-PF6) was used as a flame-retarding additive in the liquid electrolyte, and the influence of BMP-PF6 content on cycling performance and thermal properties of lithium-ion batteries was investigated. Self-extinguishing time and DSC studies demonstrated that the addition of BMP-PF6 to the electrolyte provided a significant suppression in the flammability of the electrolyte and an improvement in the thermal stability of the cell. The optimum BMP-PF6 content in the electrolyte was found to be 10 wt.% for improving safety without degrading cycling performance of the cell.  相似文献

Nanocomposite fibers of polypropylene and montmorillonite‐based organoclay were produced by a melt‐spinning process, and their structures and mechanical properties were studied. The addition of nanoclay in polypropylene increased the rate of crystallization and altered the microstructures of the fibers. Increases in the crystal size and a reduction in the molecular orientation were observed in the nanoclay–polypropylene composite fibers. The tensile properties of nanoclay composite fibers were also studied, and decreases in the fiber modulus and tenacity and increases in the strain at break were observed. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Integrated fieldwork and modelling has been undertaken to assess the vulnerability of riverside wells to pollution when river water is contaminated. Results highlight the importance of streambed sediments as a barrier to groundwater pollution by river water. The bed of the River Thames is lined with brown and grey organic-rich silts of low hydraulic conductivity (about 0.002 m/d). A 3-D model for solute transport in stream-aquifer systems was developed and applied to two riverside sites in the middle Thames valley. Model results indicate that well-water quality would only breach EC limits if the river was heavily polluted for a week or even a month (clearly an unlikely scenario). Sensitivity analyses showed the models to be far more sensitive to streambed parameters than to aquifer parameters. Thus it would be more sensible to focus fieldwork on the measurement of streambed properties than on the more usually measured aquifer parameters.  相似文献
