2″-Hydroxynicotianamine (HNA) is a recently discovered angiotensin I-converting enzyme inhibitory compound present in buckwheat which displays hypotensive activity. Here, HNA levels in buckwheat flour, plants, and products were quantified to examine the potential functionality of this food. The HNA content of buckwheat flour ranged from 16–28 mg per 100 g dry weight. When the content was evaluated by the milling stage, common buckwheat contained 24.3, 24.1, and 34.1 mg in the inner, middle, and outer layers, respectively, whereas tartary buckwheat contained 16.8, 30.5, and 51.8 mg of HNA, respectively. Comparison of the distribution of HNA within buckwheat plants revealed that HNA was predominantly localised in seeds (buckwheat flour). The residual HNA levels after cooking ranged from 21% to 41% in dried buckwheat noodles. This study clarified that buckwheat flour contains high levels of HNA and is a readily available source of HNA if incorporated into one’s diet, which may help reduce hypertension.  相似文献

Naphthalene diimide 1 bearing ferrocene and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) was prepared. Its half-wave potential at 420 mV shifted 40-50 mV upon addition of an excess of adamantylamine, suggesting that the ferrocene of 1 is included in the cavity of β-CD intramolecularly to form a pseudocyclic structure. This unique architecture is retained even where 1 is bound to calf thymus DNA to give rise to a catenane-like structure. Morphology of the DNA complex with 1 was further explored by atomic force microscopy to reveal that the DNA strand tends to bend as the amount of 1 on it increases. Presumably, intermolecular, yet intrastrand, inclusion of ferrocene into β-CD is responsible for this phenomenon. The resulting globular structure reverted partially by the addition of adamantylamine. At a low ratio of 1 to DNA, a novel reduction peak appeared at 320 mV in the differential pulse voltammograms of 1 at the expense of the 420 mV peak. The peak current of the former was proportional to the DNA concentration, thereby enabling quantitation of DNA in a signal-on way. Likewise, a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) product of 754 bp was analyzed successfully with a detection limit of 13 nM.  相似文献

F atoms bonding to paramagnetic/conductive graphene layers in accepter-type graphite intercalation compounds (GICs) are analyzed using very fast magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance, which is applied for the first time on 19F nuclei to investigate paramagnetic materials. In the bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide(TFSI)-doped GIC, C–F bonds between fluorine atoms and graphene layers conform to a weak bonding of F to the graphene sheets. TFSI anions intercalated in the GIC do not show overall molecular motion; even at room temperature only the CF3 groups rotate.  相似文献

In organic optical semiconductors, it is rather challenging to achieve precise control of photoconductivity and charge trapping, which determines the device performance. This paper reports on enhanced photorefractive response rate through control of the photoconductivity and trapping rate in organic triphenylamine-based photorefractive materials by means of bulk state tuning. The bulk state in organic triphenylamine-based photorefractive composites was controlled through a rapid cooling process from various melting temperatures during sample fabrication. The photoconductivity and trapping rate were determined from photocurrent measurements. Fabrication at lower melting temperatures enhanced the trapping rate for deep traps, whereas it reduced the trapping rate for shallow traps. As a result, a faster photorefractive response was obtained.  相似文献

A novel design of white light emitting diodes (WLEDs) emerges to meet the growing global demand for resource sustainability while preserving health and environment. To achieve this goal, a facile method is developed for the chemical synthesis of a luminescent silicon nanocrystal (ncSi) with a large Stokes shift between absorption and emission. The WLED is prepared by a simple spin‐coating method, and contains a hybrid‐bilayer of the ncSi and luminescent polymer in its device active region. Interestingly, a well‐controlled ultrathin ncSi layer on the polymer makes possible to recombine electrons and holes in both layers, respectively. Combining red and blue‐green lights, emitted from the ncSi and the polymer layers, respectively, produces the emission of white electroluminescence. Herein, a hybrid‐WLED with a sufficiently low turn‐on voltage (3.5 V), produced by taking advantages of the large Stokes shift inherent in ncSi, is demonstrated.  相似文献

The infiltration behaviour of molten cobalt into a diamond powder compact was examined when the latter was placed on a cobalt disc and held at high pressure of 5.8 GPa and high temperature of 1350 to 1500° C. The larger the grain size of the starting diamond powder and the higher the holding temperature, the more easily cobalt infiltrated into the diamond compact. The infiltration is considered to occur because of the negative pressure in the voids formed between diamond grains. Although diamond powder was consolidated in this process of cobalt infiltration, abnormal grain growth was also observed in the boundary between cobalt and diamond compact because of the dissolution and precipitation process of the compact into molten cobalt.On leave from Chengdu University of Science and Technology, Chengdu, China.  相似文献

We analyzed the hydrologic characteristics of the Nong Saeng Basin (19.72 km2) in northeast Thailand. Because the land use in this basin is very complex, applying a fully distributed model would be extremely difficult. Therefore, we developed a semi-distributed hydrologic model for this basin. The hydrologic model comprised upland, paddy, and pond models. The new bucket model was applied for upland fields, and a modified tank model was used for the paddy and pond models. In addition, water movement between different land uses was considered. The results showed that the hydrologic model developed for the study basin performed extremely well if water movement between different land uses was considered. We simulated the water storage characteristics for two sub-catchments within the basin: sub-catchment 1 included few earthen weirs, whereas sub-catchment 2 included several earthen weirs. Owing to the earthen weirs, the maximum differences in ponding paddy water were 19,997 m3 in 2002 and 16,897 m3 in 2003, corresponding to 48% and 41% of the total volume of ponds in sub-catchment 1 (41,287 m3), respectively. If earthen weirs were to be constructed over the entire basin, the annual runoff from the basin would decrease by 2.0–3.2%. Although the decrease of the annual runoff is little, the maximum differences between the daily runoffs under real and simulated conditions in terms of percentage differences are −44.3% in September 2002 and −36.5% in September 2003, and it is found that the downstream impacts are quite large at the end of rainy season.  相似文献

The inhibitory effects of several anti-inflammatory agents, including glycyrrhizin (GL), on the activities of hyaluronidases (HAses) purified from bovine testes and Streptomyces were investigated in vitro. It was found that (i) GL inhibits the activity of HAse (p55) from bovine testes in a dose-dependent manner, but does not affect HAse from Streptomyces; (ii) GL was the most effective of the compounds tested on bovine testis HAse activity (50% inhibition with approx. 3 microM GL); and (iii) glycyrrhetinic acid (GA), a derivative (oGA) of GA and diglucuronic acid had no detectable effects on HAse activity at 9.0 microM. The GL-induced inhibition of HAse activity is uncompetitive for its substrates. Data are provided to support the contentions that (i) bovine testis HAse (p55) is a GL-binding protein; and (ii) GL acts as a potent inhibitor of HAse in vitro.  相似文献

Kemmelmeier (2002) (see record 2002-00183-001) provide a most comprehensive review of empirical studies that used attitudinal surveys to capture cultural variations in individualism and collectivism. In the present article, the author suggests that the cross-cultural validity of attitudinal surveys can no longer be taken for granted. Moreover, the meta-theory underlying this literature (called the entity view of culture) is called into question. The author presents an alterative meta-theory (called the system view of culture) and discusses its implications for future work in cultural and cross-cultural psychology. The hierarchical domain decomposition method (HDDM) proposed by Comp. Sys. Eng. 4 (1993) 495 is applied to the large scale elastic–plastic finite element (FE) analysis of nuclear structures. The HDDM is a method to implement the finite element method (FEM) on various kinds of parallel environments. The substructure-based iterative methods can effectively be used with the HDDM to solve the large scale linear algebraic equations derived from the implicit FEM. In this paper, some key techniques to parallelize the static elastic–plastic FE analysis by the HDDM are described. As illustrative examples, a support structure of the high temperature engineering test reactor (HTTR), a pressure vessel, and an internal pump of a pressure vessel are analyzed. The structure of HTTR and the pressure vessel are modeled by hexahedral solid elements whose total degrees of freedom (DOFs) are about 1.3 millions (M) and 3 M, respectively. The internal pump is modeled by quadratic tetrahedral elements whose total DOFs are about 2 M. The elastic–plastic analysis of a simple cube with 10 M DOFs is also carried out. Both the conjugate gradient method for solving the linear equations and the Newton–Raphson method for solving nonlinear problems successfully converge.  相似文献
