Nitrogen-doped ultrananocrystalline diamond (UNCD)/hydrogenated amorphous carbon (a-C:H) films were deposited by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). Nitrogen contents in the films were controlled by varying a ratio in the inflow amount between nitrogen and hydrogen gases. The film doped with a nitrogen content of 7.9 at.% possessed n-type conduction with an electrical conductivity of 18 Ω? 1 cm? 1 at 300 K. X-ray photoemission spectra, which were measured using synchrotron radiation, were decomposed into four component spectra due to sp2, sp3 hybridized carbons, C=N and C–N. A full-width at half-maximum of the sp3 peak was 0.91 eV. This small value is specific to UNCD/a-C:H films. The sp2/(sp3 + sp2) value was enhanced from 32 to 40% with an increase in the nitrogen content from 0 to 7.9 at.%. This increment probably originates from the nitrogen incorporation into an a-C:H matrix and grain boundaries of UNCD crystallites. Since an electrical conductivity of a-C:H does not dramatically enhance for this doping amount according to previous reports, we believe that the electrical conductivity enhancement is predominantly due to the nitrogen incorporation into grain boundaries. 相似文献

We have investigated the switching behavior of as-deposited CrO x and post-annealed CrO y films by use of a variety of electrodes (top electrode Ag, Ti; bottom electrode Pt, fluorine tin oxide (FTO)). Resistance switching is highly dependent on electrode material and post-annealing treatment. Among Pt devices, I–V hysteresis was observed for the Ag/CrO x /Pt device only; no resistance switching was observed for Ag/CrO y /Pt, Ti/CrO x /Pt, and Ti/CrO y /Pt devices. Among FTO devices, I–V hysteresis was observed for the Ag/CrO x /FTO device whereas I–V hysteresis with the opposite switching direction was observed for Ag/CrO y /FTO, Ti/CrO x /FTO, and Ti/CrO y /FTO devices. The direction of switching depends not only on electrode material but also on post-annealing treatment, which affects the density of grain boundaries. Thus, the density of grain boundaries determines the type of charge carrier involved in the switching process. For as-deposited CrO x films with a high density of grain boundaries Ag filament paths mediated by electrochemical redox reaction were observed, irrespective of bottom electrode material (Pt or FTO). Post-annealed CrO y films with a low density of grain boundaries suppressed electrochemical redox reaction in the Ag/CrO y /Pt device but promoted short-range movement of O2? ions through the bottom interface, resulting in resistance switching in the Ag/CrO y /FTO device. The electrical modification of a conductivity-switching polyimide film via molecular layer deposition (MLD) is studied for ultrahigh density data storage based on a scanning probe microscope (SPM). A PMDA-ODA (PMDA = 1, 2, 3, 5-benzenetetracarboxylic anhydride, ODA = 4, 4-oxydianiline) film as a recording medium is uniformly formed from a self-assembled monolayer on a Au surface by MLD. It is demonstrated that the conductivity of the film can be changed by applying a voltage between a SPM probe and the film. This conductivity-switching phenomenon is discussed by the molecular orbital approach and considered to be caused by the charge transfer effect or carrier trapping effect of PMDA-ODA. 相似文献

This paper proposes a new advanced fabrication technology for a low-cost integrated-type a-Si solar cell. Integrated-type cells provide many advantages and have been industrialized with a laser patterning method. However, a higher throughput and more efficient patterning method was required for applying a-Si solar cells to a power generating system. Plasma CVM (Chemical Vaporization Machining) was first applied to advanced patterning because of its advantages of high speed and selectivity. In this method, a plasma generated under high pressure localizes near the wire electrode and concentrates reactive radicals. As a result, we achieved an etching rate of more than 1 μm/s and selective patterning of a 200 μm-wide a-Si layer in 1 s multiline patterning was also developed for large-area modules. 相似文献

An experimental investigation of heat transfer around four cylinders closely spaced in a cross-flow of air has been conducted. The cylinders are settled in tandem with equal distances between centers. Their inline pitch ratio is in the range of (c = distance between cylinders' centers, d = cylinder diameter); the Reynolds number ranges from 104 to 5 × 104. It is found that there exists a critical Reynolds number Redc at which the heat transfer behavior changes drastically, and is correlated with the in-line pitch ratio by .Variations of characteristic features of the mean and local Nusselt numbers are discussed in relation to the length of the vortex formation region behind the cylinder. 相似文献

Sn(II)1.2(Nb(V)1.6Sn(IV)0.4)O6 pyrochlore precursor was oxidized at temperature of the range 573–973 K in 1% O2/Ar and O2 gases for various periods of time. Two kinds of novel metastable phases with a composition of Sn(IV)0.6(Nb(V)0.8Sn(IV)0.2)O3.6 could be synthesized. Further, the other novel metastable phase with the same composition was found as a phase contained. One of the metastable phases was the cubic κ-CeZrO4 related-type possessing the fluorite-related structure, which was formed by the cation diffusionless insertion of the oxygen atom into original oxygen vacant site of the pyrochlore-type structure. Another was an orthorhombic α-PbO2 related-type possessing a cation ordered arrangement unlike a well known NiWO4 structure. The other was the rutile related-type possessing a cation ordered arrangement. Appearance of the two latter metastable phases could be attributed to the displacement of the oxygen stacking in the κ-CeZrO4 related-type phase without cation redistributions. The appearance mechanisms were analogous to the well known transformations for AX2 compounds among rutile-type, α-PbO2-type, and fluorite-type phases under high pressure and its release. The dependence of the appearance of these novel metastable phases on oxygen partial pressure and temperature has been discussed in terms of the driving forces and energy barriers for reactions. 相似文献

We investigated the propagation properties of Lamb waves in a GIS tank, using time–frequency analysis to diagnose the insulation performance of GIS. We measured the acoustic signals excited by metallic particles colliding with the tank sheath, and those emitted by partial discharge in the GIS. The wavelet transform was used to decompose the wave data into its time–frequency components. As a result, it was confirmed that Lamb waves with the dispersive property of the velocity are excited and propagate in a spiral path along the tank wall due to the cylindrical structure of the tank. Taking these results into consideration, we propose a new technique for identification of defect locations in GIS based on time–frequency analysis of acoustic signals with the wavelet transform. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The expression of calcium-binding protein regucalcin mRNA in the kidney cortex of rats ingested with saline was investigated. The alteration in regucalcin mRNA levels was analyzed by Northern blotting using liver regucalcin complementary DNA (0.9 kb of open reading frame). Rats were freely given saline as drinking water for 7 days. Regucalcin mRNA levels in the kidney cortex were suppressed by saline ingestion. When calcium chloride (10 mg Ca/100 g body weight) was intraperitoneally administered to rats ingested with saline for 7 days, the effect of calcium administration to increase regucalcin mRNA levels was weakened by saline ingestion. Such effect was also seen by the administration of 2.5 and 5 mg Ca/100 g. Regucalcin mRNA levels in the kidney cortex of spontaneous hypertensive rats (SHR) were not appreciably increased by the administration of calcium (10 mg/100 g). Meanwhile, calcium content in the kidney cortex was significantly elevated by the administration of calcium (10 mg/100 g) to normal rats. This increase was weakened in saline-ingested rats. Moreover, Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase activity in the cytosol of kidney cortex was significantly decreased by saline ingestion. These results suggest the possibility that saline ingestion-induced suppression of regucalcin mRNA expression in the kidney cortex is partly involved in the attenuation of Ca2+ signalling. 相似文献

Nowadays our society demands the reuse of industrial products. Then we should not only re-investigate the materials of products but also originate a new design method of industrial products. We have investigated the cellular structure by using abandoned paper, because the cell's shape can be proposed arbitrarily by folding a paper. As examples, we have proposed the structure constructed by connecting many folded cells formed in a hexagonal cross area. This structure will have characteristics such as almost high rigidity, high stiffness, crushing stress, relative insensitivity to the overall loss of stability. To estimate the characteristics of these structures, we must analyze the deformation in loading. When the structure with thin walls formed by paper is loaded, the shape of deformation is different from that of the metal, wall swells and does not maintain its flatness. Therefore, we cannot apply the traditional theory of elasticity for the analysis. In this paper, we propose a new estimation method by analyzing the swelling. 相似文献

For asphaltene obtained from vacuum residues of three different kinds of crude oils (Khafji, Maya, and Iranian-Light), the energy-minimum conformation calculated by molecular mechanics-dynamics simulations showed that aggregated structures of asphaltene molecules through noncovalent interactions are the most stable conformation. Changes of aggregated structures by heating or solvent treatment were investigated by using the molecular dynamics calculation. For Khafji and Iranian-Light asphaltenes, the simulation showed that the aggregated structure was dissociated at 673K, while for Maya asphaltene the dissociation behavior was not observed, showing that Maya asphaltene seems difficult to be dissociated by heating, compared to other asphaltenes. In contrast, the simulation of relaxation of the Maya aggregates in quinoline showed that at 573K a part of aggregates was dissociated more easily than Khafji and Iranian-Light asphaltenes. These results above suggest that the effects of heating and solvent treatment on the structural relaxation of asphaltene aggregates can be different. 相似文献
