A pilot-scale fluidised pellet bed (FPB) bioreactor, which combines chemical coagulation, biological degradation, particle pelletisation and separation in one unit, was applied for onsite wastewater treatment and reuse. As a result of rational use of inorganic coagulant and organic polymer and moderate mechanical agitation, spherical particles were generated in the upflow column and a well-fluidised bed was formed. With a continuous supply of dissolved oxygen through a recycling loop, an aerobic condition was kept in the bottom section of the FPB column. Under such conditions the pellets in the FPB column showed the following characteristics: (1) compact structure and high density; (2) rich in microorganisms; and (3) high MLSS and MLVSS concentrations. Therefore, the FPB bioreactor achieved more than 90% removal of SS, COD, BOD and TP from raw domestic wastewater within a total hydraulic retention time (HRT) of only about 30 minutes. It also showed nitrification and denitrification ability and the TN removal could be about 50% as the recycling ratio was increased to 1:1. The treated water quality is generally competitive with the secondary effluent from a conventional activated sludge process. With these advantages the FPB bioreactor is recommendable as a compact system for onsite wastewater treatment and reuse.  相似文献

New experimental studies on the effects of large dynamic compressive loads on highly birefringent optical fibers are presented. The intensity rate of applied dynamic loads ranged between 2.18-6719 KN/m-sec. A Fibercore (previously York) HB600 Bow-Tie fiber with an initial beat length of 1.16 mm was employed in the present study. Sensor response is discussed in terms of the effects of force amplitudes and velocities on the calibration parameter Tf. Tf is a function of the amplitude as well as the velocity of applied loading. Therefore, calibration of the sensor should be achieved through regression analysis of the load-fringe data for the entire spectrum of the desired force velocities. The ramification of this finding is that a single experiment for the measurement of Tf cannot provide the required parameters for calibration. This further implies that the change in beat length is also dependent on the amplitude and velocity of loading. The suggested method takes both effects into account through empirical analysis of experimental data  相似文献

Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry has been used to study the interaction of -amino propyl triethoxysilane with an E-glass surface. The fragmentation pattern has been interpreted by assigning a series of mass peaks to the structural unit of the poly(aminosiloxane). The composition of the coating is complicated by the presence of polydimethylsiloxane and its copolymers. The highest mass fragment was obtained from the coating exposed by extraction with warm water (697 AMU). The largest molecular fragments would appear to have degrees of polymerization of 6 with differing numbers of silanol groups. On re-extraction with hot water the fragment size decreased. It is postulated that the network chain length of the three-dimensional polymer decreased as the interface was approached. At the glass surface a chemically bound molecular layer could be identified. The full chemical nature of the deposit is complicated by the incorporation of aluminium from the substrate into the coating. It was also possible to confirm that a layer of warm-water soluble oligomers existed at the air interface.  相似文献
