Erection of central concrete-transport trestleway for Zeya hydroelectric station

Conclusions According to the experience gained in erecting the upstream concrete-transport trestleway during construction of the Zeya hydroelectric scheme, in order to reduce labor consumption, the demands for crane time, and the erection period, and to improve conditions for safety, it can be recommended where similar trestleways are being erected that: a) maximal subassembly of the units to be erected should be carried out at subassembly bases not more than 5 to 10 km distant; b) connection of the units being erected should be made with highstrength bolts tightened by calibrated dynamometric wrenches; c) the Zeya method of supporting the pylons should be applied; d) special two-jib units should be used for erecting the heaviest crane-runway girders. 'Minimum average risk' as a new peak-detection algorithm applied to myofibrillar dynamics

We present a new peak-detection algorithm based on the method of 'minimum average risk' proposed by Kolmogorov and developed for signal processing in various fields. In this method, translations of features within a signal scan are quantified by minimizing the integrated pointwise product of each scan relative to the first derivative of the immediately previous scan. We have adapted this method for use in a new algorithm to monitor dynamic changes of sarcomere length in single myofibrillar sarcomeres of striated muscles, but the algorithm can also be used more generally for peak localization. We find that this method results in sub-nanometer precision and higher signal-to-noise ratio than current methods. At an equal noise level, the RMS deviation of the minimum average risk algorithm was 1.3 times lower than that of the center of mass method with modeled data and 3-4 times lower with actual data.     

Effect of Air Oxidation on the Thermophysical Properties of a Zirconium Alloy

The results of an experimental study of the effect of air oxidation on the temperature dependence of the heat capacity and normal spectral emissivity (for the wavelength of 0.65 m) of the zirconium alloy E635 (1.3 mass% Sn, 0.3 mass% Fe, 1 mass% Nb) are presented. The subsecond resistive pulse heating technique has been used. The samples were heated in ambient air by single and multiple cyclic pulses.     

Specific features of kinetics of molecular beam epitaxy of compounds in the GaN-AlN system

The effect of growth conditions (V/III ratio, substrate temperature) on the properties of materials in AlN-GaN systems is discussed. A concept of the growth of the AlN/AlGaN/GaN multilayer heterostructure, which provides the improvement of crystal quality and surface morphology of the layers, is suggested and realized. The improvement of the properties of GaN in the AlN/AlGaN/GaN/AlGaN multilayer heterostructure is confirmed by a considerable increase in electron mobility in the two-dimensional electron gas formed at the upper heterointerface GaN/Al_0.3Ga_0.7N.
