Optimization of flank wear using Zirconia Toughened Alumina (ZTA) cutting tool: Taguchi method and Regression analysis 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this study, Taguchi method and Regression analysis have been applied to assess machinability of AISI 4340 steel with newly developed Zirconia Toughened Alumina (ZTA) ceramic inserts. Several experiments have been carried out based on an orthogonal array L9 with three parameters (depth of cut feed rate, cutting speed) at three levels (low, medium and high). Based on the mean response and signal to noise ratio (SNR), the best optimal cutting condition has been arrived at A2B1C1 i.e. cutting speed is 280 m/min, depth of cut is 0.5 mm and feed rate is 0.12 mm/rev considering the condition smaller is the better approach. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is applied to find out the significance and percentage contribution of each parameter. It has been observed that depth of cut has maximum contribution on tool wear. The mathematical model of flank wear has been developed using regression analysis as a function of the above mentioned independent variables. The predicted value from the developed model and experimental values are found to be very close to each other justifying the significance of the model. A confirmation run has been carried out with 95% confidence level to verify the optimized result and the values obtained are within the prescribed limit. 相似文献

An optimal PID and an optimal fuzzy PID have been tuned by minimizing the Integral of Time multiplied Absolute Error (ITAE) and squared controller output for a networked control system (NCS). The tuning is attempted for a higher order and a time delay system using two stochastic algorithms viz. the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and two variants of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and the closed loop performances are compared. The paper shows that random variation in network delay can be handled efficiently with fuzzy logic based PID controllers over conventional PID controllers. 相似文献

The experimental results of an air-core pulse transformer are presented, which is very compact (<10 Kg in weight) and is primed by a capacitor bank that is fabricated in such a way that the capacitor bank with its switch takes the shape of single-turn rectangular shaped primary of the transformer. A high voltage capacitor assembly (pulse-forming-line capacitor, PFL) of 5.1 nF is connected with the secondary of transformer. The transformer output voltage is 160 kV in its second peak appearing in less than 2 μS from the beginning of the capacitor discharge. The primary capacitor bank can be charged up to a maximum of 18 kV, with the voltage delivery of 360 kV in similar capacitive loads. 相似文献

We describe the development of a beam scanning microscope that can perform optical sectioning based on the principle of confocal microscopy. The scanning is performed by a laser beam diffracted from a dynamic binary hologram implemented using a liquid crystal spatial light modulator. Using the proposed scanning mechanism, unlike the conventional confocal microscopes, scanning over a two-dimensional area of the sample can be obtained without the use of a pair of galvo mirror scanners. The proposed microscope has a number of advantages, such as superior frame to frame repeatability, simpler optical arrangement, increased pixel dwell time relative to the time between two pixels, illumination of only the sample points without pulsing the laser, and absolute control over the amplitude and phase of the illumination beam on a pixel to pixel basis. The proposed microscope can be particularly useful for applications requiring very long exposure time or very large working distance objective lenses. We present a pulsed-magnet system that enables x-ray single-crystal diffraction in addition to powder and spectroscopic studies with the magnetic field applied on or close to the scattering plane. The apparatus consists of a single large-bore solenoid, cooled by liquid nitrogen. A second independent closed-cycle cryostat is used for cooling samples near liquid helium temperatures. Pulsed magnetic fields close to ~30 T with a zero-to-peak-field rise time of ~2.9 ms are generated by discharging a 40 kJ capacitor bank into the magnet coil. The unique characteristic of this instrument is the preservation of maximum scattering angle (~23.6°) on the entrance and exit sides of the magnet bore by virtue of a novel double-funnel insert. This instrument will facilitate x-ray diffraction and spectroscopic studies that are impractical, if not impossible, to perform using split-pair and narrow-opening solenoid magnets. Furthermore, it offers a practical solution for preserving optical access in future higher-field pulsed magnets. 相似文献

The aim of this study is to show histological and immunofluorescence analysis of renal parenchyma of agoutis affected by gentamicin‐induced renal disease after the infusion of bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMC) stained with Hoechst®. Nine agouti's males were divided into three groups: Test group (TG): renal disease by gentamicin induced (n = 3), cell therapy group (CTG): renal disease by gentamicin induced and BMMC infusion (n = 3), and control group (CG): nonrenal disease and BMMC infusion (n = 3). TG and CTG were submitted to the protocol of renal disease induction using weekly application of gentamicin sulfate for 4 months. CG and CTG received a 1 × 108 BMMC stained with Hoechst and were euthanized for kidney examination 21 days after BMMC injection and samples were collected for histology and immunofluorescence analysis. Histological analysis demonstrated typical interstitial lesions in kidney similarly to human disease, as tubular necrosis, glomerular destruction, atrophy tubular, fibrotic areas, and collagen deposition. We conclude that histological analysis suggest a positive application of agouti's as a model for a gentamicin inducing of kidney disease, beyond the immunofluorescence analysis suggest a significant migration of BMMC to sites of renal injury in CTG. Flow behaviour of NBR and polyacrylic rubber blends have been studied throughout the entire composition ranges. The effect of preheating of the blends is also studied in order to understand the interchain crosslinking. Viscosity, extrudate swell, power law indices, have been studied as a function of shear rate and blend ratio. The shearing accompanied by blend ratio has a predominent effect on the rheological behaviour of the preheated blends due to microgel formation. From the rheological behaviour it appears that there is a phase inversion at around 50% of NBR, however, preheating does not change this trend. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

Full and semi-IPNs were prepared from epoxy and poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA), by the sequential mode of synthesis and were characterized by measurements of ultimate tensile strength (UTS), elongation at break, modulus, and toughness. Aromatic polyamine adducts and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate were used as the crosslinkers for epoxy and comonomer/crosslinker for methyl methacrylate monomer, respectively. Higher UTS and modulus of the semi-IPNs over full IPNs were attributed to the higher probability of interpenetration. The weight retention in the thermal decomposition of the IPNs and semi-IPNs were higher than the epoxy homopolymer. This enhancement was presumably related to the presence of the unzipped methyl methacrylate monomer which acted as radical scavangers in the epoxy degradation. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

High stress abrasive wear behaviour of aluminium alloy (ADC-12)–SiC particle reinforced composites has been studied as a function of applied load, reinforcement size and volume fraction, and has been compared with that of the matrix alloy. Two different size ranges (25–50 and 50–80 μm) of SiC particles have been used for synthesizing ADC-12–SiC composite. The volume fraction of SiC particles has been varied in the ranges from 5 to 15 wt%. It has been noted that the abrasive wear rate of the alloy reduced considerably due to addition of SiC particle and the wear rate of composite decreases linearly with increase in SiC content. It has also been noted that the wear resistance of composite varies inversely with square of the reinforcement size. The wear rate of the alloy and composite has been found to be a linear function of applied load but invariant to the abrasive size; at critical abrasive size, transition in wear behaviour is noted.
