Scheme for detection of subcarrier modulated optical signals using switched parametric amplification

Visualization of polymer molecules by molecular dynamics simulation remains a challenging area in molecular modeling, as it involves a number of factors like type of force field, simulation time, simulation steps, and so forth. In our present study, we have used the condensed-phase optimized molecular potentials for atomistic simulation studies (COMPASS) force field, which is specific for polymers and organic molecules, in order to visualize the macromolecular chains of various flexible amorphous polymers: natural rubber, polybutadiene rubber, styrene–butadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, polychloroprene rubber, and fluoroelastomer. The study covered a wide range from nonpolar rubbers to polar rubbers, and the COMPASS force field was promising to understand the local structure and the packing of the chains inside the simulation box. The distance between different adjacent pairs of carbon atoms within the polymer chains was discussed in detail from intramolecular radial distribution function and represented pictorially in the polymer chains. Various bond angles were also examined for further details. In addition, interchain contacts, glass-transition temperature, and solubility parameter were predicted and compared with the experimental values. The diffusive characteristic of the chains was assessed by mean square displacement which in turn described the polymer chain mobility. In essence, the present study is expected to aid in the vivid conceptualization of molecular orientation of various polymers and would help in predicting various physical properties. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Effects of Parameter Estimation on the Multivariate Distribution‐free Phase II Sign EWMA Chart 下载免费PDF全文
Multivariate nonparametric control charts can be very useful in practice and have recently drawn a lot of interest in the literature. Phase II distribution‐free (nonparametric) control charts are used when the parameters of the underlying unknown continuous distribution are unknown and can be estimated from a sufficiently large Phase I reference sample. While a number of recent studies have examined the in‐control (IC) robustness question related to the size of the reference sample for both univariate and multivariate normal theory (parametric) charts, in this paper, we study the effect of parameter estimation on the performance of the multivariate nonparametric sign exponentially weighted moving average (MSEWMA) chart. The in‐control average run‐length (ICARL) robustness and the out‐of‐control shift detection performance are both examined. It is observed that the required amount of the Phase I data can be very (perhaps impractically) high if one wants to use the control limits given for the known parameter case and maintain a nominal ICARL, which can limit the implementation of these useful charts in practice. To remedy this situation, using simulations, we obtain the “corrected for estimation” control limits that achieve a desired nominal ICARL value when parameters are estimated for a given set of Phase I data. The out‐of‐control performance of the MSEWMA chart with the correct control limits is also studied. The use of the corrected control limits with specific amounts of available reference sample is recommended. Rare‐earth‐doped upconversion nano‐phosphor shows new possibilities in the field of bioimaging because of its unique properties like higher penetration depth, low signal to noise ratio (SNR), good photo stability, and zero auto fluorescence. The oxyfluoride glass system is the combination of both fluoride and oxide where fluoride host offers high optical transparency due to low phonon energy and oxide network offers high physical stability. Thus, in the present work, an attempt has been made to synthesize 1 mol% Er3+ doped SiO2‐CaF2 glass ceramic nano‐particles through sol‐gel route. The synthesized glass ceramic particles were heat treated at 4 different temperatures starting from 600°C to 900°C.The X‐ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis confirmed the formation of CaF2 nano‐crystals in the matrix which is 20‐30 nm in size. The vibrational spectroscopic analysis of the glass ceramics sample has been investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. The UV‐Visible‐NIR spectroscopy analysis was carried out to analyze the absorption intensity in the near infrared region. Upon 980 nm excitation, the sample shows red emission corresponds to 4F9/2→4I15/2 energy level transition. The prepared nano‐particles showed excellent biocompatibility when tasted on MG‐63 osteoblast cells. 相似文献

The present report studies on the flow pattern transitions during vertical air water downflow through millichannels (0.83 ≤ Eötvös no. ≤ 20.63). Four basic flow patterns namely falling film flow, slug flow, bubbly flow, and annular flow are observed in the range of experimental conditions studied and their range of existence has been noted to vary with tube diameter and phase velocities. Based on experimental observations, phenomenological models are proposed to predict the transition boundaries between adjacent patterns. These have been validated with experimental flow pattern maps from the present experiments. To better understand the magnitude of arsenic contamination in groundwater and its effects on human beings, a detailed study was carried out in Jalangi, one of the 85 arsenic affected blocks in West Bengal, India. Jalangi block is approximately 122 km2 in size and has a population of 215538. Of the 1916 water samples analyzed (about 31% of the total hand tubewells) from the Jalangi block, 77.8% were found to have arsenic above 10 microg l(-1) [the World Health Organization (WHO)-recommended level of arsenic in drinking water], 51% had arsenic above 50 microg l(-1) (the Indian standard of permissible limit of arsenic in drinking water) and 17% had arsenic at above 300 microg l(-1) (the concentration predicting overt arsenical skin lesions). From our preliminary medical screening, 1488 of the 7221 people examined in the 44 villages of Jalangi block exhibit definite arsenical skin lesions. An estimation of probable population that may suffer from arsenical skin lesions and cancer in the Jalangi block has been evaluated comparing along with international data. A total of 1600 biologic samples including hair, nail and urine have been analyzed from the affected villages of Jalangi block and on an average 88% of the biologic samples contain arsenic above the normal level. Thus, a vast population of the block may have arsenic body burden. Cases of Bowen's disease and cancer have been identified among adults who also show arsenical skin lesions and children in this block are also seriously affected. The austenite γ (fcc) matrix of 304 LN stainless steel transforms readily to martensites (hcp) and ′ (bcc) on deformation. The formation and nucleation mechanism of deformation induced martensite (DIM) during tensile deformation of 304 LN stainless steel has been studied at various strain rates in room temperature. It is investigated that the enhancement of strain rates during tensile deformation promotes the early formation of DIM, while suppressing its saturation value at fracture. Extensive transmission electron microscopy (TEM) studies showed more than one nucleation site for martensite transformation and the transformation mechanisms were observed to be γ (fcc) → (hcp), γ (fcc) → ′ (bcc) and γ (fcc) → (hcp) → ′ (bcc). 相似文献
