Herein, nanocrystals of Er3+ and Er3+, Yb3+ co-doped NaYF4 upconversion (UC) phosphor were prepared via the reverse-microemulsion method. The impact of different concentrations of Er3+ ions on the UC emission intensity after 980?nm diode laser excitation is discussed. The structure, morphology and composition of the nanophosphors were confirmed by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and the results showed the presence of NaYF4 nanocrystals with hexagonal phases of NaYF4. The UC spectra revealed two emission bands including a green and a red emission band and the CIE coordinate for the samples were estimated. The present research revealed that the reverse-microemulsion approach will be suitable for the synthesis of efficient upconversion nanophosphors.  相似文献

We study mechanical reinforcement in a widely used epoxy matrix with the addition of graphene nanoplatelets (GnPs) and various mixture ratios of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with GnPs. Two different dimensions of GnPs were used with flake sizes of 5 μm and 25 μm to investigate the influence of nanofiller size on composite properties. In GnP reinforced composites, bigger flakes showed greater reinforcement at all GnP concentrations as they actively control the failure mechanisms in the composite. In the mixture samples, highest CNT content (9:1) showed marked improvement in fracture toughness of 76%. The CNT:GnP ratio is an interesting factor significantly influencing the properties of the epoxy based nanocomposites. The combination of high aspect ratio of CNTs and larger surface area of GnPs contribute to the synergistic effect of the hybrid samples. Thermal conductivity consistently increases with incorporation of GnPs in the matrix. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images confirm the uniform nanofiller dispersion achieved in the composites. For the hybrid samples CNTs are seen to align themselves on the GnP flakes creating an inter-connected strong nanofiller network in the matrix. The homogeneous nanofiller dispersions have been achieved by high shear calendaring which is a method capable of being industrially scaled up.  相似文献

Poly(ester amides) based on L-valine and adipic acid with different aliphatic and aromatic diols were synthesized by interfacial polymerization. Four different diols such as ethylene glycol, 1,5-pentanediol, resorcinol, and catechol were used to systematically vary the chain lengths and position of the hydroxyl groups. The chemical structures, thermal properties, degradation, and dye release of these polymers were investigated. This study demonstrates that the release kinetics can be tailored through the control of the chain length of the diol and the position of the hydroxyl groups. These findings have important implications for designing biodegradable polymers for tailored release.  相似文献

In order to observe the effects of the substitution of electronegative flourine with aromatic groups in oligo(p ‐phenylenevinylene) compounds on their packing, morphology, and charge carrier mobility, we have synthesized napthol‐substituted oligo(p ‐phenylenevinylene) compounds and examined their solubility, redox properties, thin film morphologies, and charge carrier properties. To date, very few examples of conjugated oligomers bearing napthol side groups have been reported in the literature. After annealing at 150 °C, the mobility of S1, S2, and S3 was 4.0 × 10?2 cm2 V?1 s?1, 1.2 × 10?2 cm2 V?1 s?1, and 2.6 × 10?3 cm2 V?1 s?1, respectively. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. In the present article a facile synthesis of cerium oxide nanoparticles (CNPs) encapsulated in PLGA microparticles is reported. The release kinetics of the CNPs from the PLGA matrix was investigated under acidic, basic and near-neutral pH. A diffusion model was applied to determine the diffusivity of the CNPs from the PLGA matrix. The morphology of the degraded PLGA particles was characterized by high resolution SEM. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic activity was retained in released CNPs for a longer period of time (~90 days) under different pH. PLGA encapsulated CNP showed excellent biocompatibility. This study demonstrates a potential strategy to deliver CNPs using biodegradable PLGA that ensures a slow release of the CNPs over a long period of time. Thus, the synthesized PLGA encapsulated CNPs could find potential applications in tissue engineering like bone remodelling and regeneration, and protection from disorders caused by neurodegeneration.  相似文献

Abstract  

A new 3D silver complex [Ag(mela)(H2O)(NO3)]n (1) (mela = melamine or 2,4,6-triaminotriazine) is synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, IR, and elemental analysis. The structural characterization shows that the compound crystallizes in space group C c, a = 8.181(2), b = 10.269(3) c = 11.347(3) ?, β = 105.88(2)°, Z = 4. Out of several structurally characterized transition metal compounds comprising melamine, the titled complex represents a rare example of μ 3 -melamine coordination mode realized through the heterocycle nitrogen donors. The fluorescent property of complex 1 was investigated and the mechanism was validated by means of a density functional theory (DFT) calculation.  相似文献

Near-net-shape (NNS) high alumina (alumina:silica = 96:4, in equivalent weight ratio) fibre reinforced ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) were prepared with single and bicomponent sols following sol–gel vacuum infiltration technique. The CMCs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), three-point bend test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Crystallization of tetragonal zirconia (t-ZrO2) in the composite, CZY having zirconia–yttria matrix and that of gamma alumina (γ-Al2O3) in the composites, CAZ having alumina–zirconia matrix, CAS having alumina–silica matrix and CA having alumina matrix, enhanced the flexural strength values and pseudo-ductile character of CMCs.  相似文献

Recent work on CCTO is directed towards decreasing its dissipation factor and further raising its dielectric constant by using different dopants. Also attempts have been made to lower its sintering temperature by adding different sintering aids so as to save energy and use low-cost electrodes (Ag–Pd or base metal) for making multilayer capacitors. Normally, CCTO needs a processing temperature of 1100 °C and above for densification. We report the formation of dense CCTO ceramics at a temperature as low as 1000 °C by adding P2O5 as a sintering aid. The samples showed dielectric constant value as high as 40,000, though the dissipation factor values remained high like those reported for pure CCTO.  相似文献
