Seven cardiac electrophysiology stimulators from four manufacturers (Biotronik, Bloom, Digitimer and Medtronic) in common current use are reviewed. The stimulators differ in the features provided and the design adopted to achieve these features. The number of output channels ranges from one to four, the number of extra-stimuli available ranges from two to six, and these can be delivered as a variety of sequences. Some of the stimulators (Digitimer and Bloom) are modular while others (Biotronik and Medtronic 532 series) are of an integrated design comprising a single physical unit. The design of the Medtronic EP-2 has both integrated and modular characteristics. The features of the stimulators associated with input, output, control and the user interface are specifically reviewed. The features are also compared against the published recommendations of the American Heart Association. In addition, a summary of stimulator user comments from a number of electrophysiology centres is presented. All of the stimulators fulfil, or are close to fulfilling, basic electrophysiological requirements, but some provide more complex facilities such as would be required by specialist centres. 相似文献

Since electronic switching systems usually require very strict reliability requirements as well as good performance objectives, we need to jointly analyse the performance and reliability of switching systems. In this paper, we compare conventional time–space–time switches with single space switches with those with multiple separated space switches, from the viewpoints of reliability and performance. We consider time–space–time switching networks which consist of N incoming time switches, i.e. one NxN space switch, two (N/2)x(N/2) space switches, and four (N/4)x(N/4) space switches. We introduce a Markov reliability model to study the effect of failures and analyse the reliability and performance of three different types of switching networks in terms of average blocking probability and the mean time to unreliable operation, as we vary the offered traffic. For multi-step heterogeneous consecutive reactions affected entirely by interphase diffusion under isothermal condition, the
equations for the effectiveness factors, the surface concentrations and the point yields were derived in terms of the Damkoehler
numbers or the measurables from the mass balances set up on the assumption that the mass-transfer rate balances the surface-reaction
rate at steady state.
From the analyses of the equations derived, the effectiveness factors for the intermediate steps and the surface concentrations
of intermediates were understood to be enhanced by the measurables inclusive of the concentrations and the mass-transfer coefficients.
Then the effect of the concentrations was concluded to be most significant. The effects of these measurables to the effectiveness
factors and the surface concentrations were qualitatively discussed for simple consecutive reactions and also for additive
consecutive reactions. Especially, as for two-step additive consecutive reactions, the effects of measurables η Da and the
concentrations to the effectiveness factors were examined with graphical presentations.
Finally, the brief discussion of the dependency of the Damkoehler number upon reaction time and the effect of the Renolds

Linear discriminant analysis (LDA) is a data discrimination technique that seeks transformation to maximize the ratio of the between-class scatter and the within-class scatter. While it has been successfully applied to several applications, it has two limitations, both concerning the underfitting problem. First, it fails to discriminate data with complex distributions since all data in each class are assumed to be distributed in the Gaussian manner. Second, it can lose class-wise information, since it produces only one transformation over the entire range of classes. We propose three extensions of LDA to overcome the above problems. The first extension overcomes the first problem by modelling the within-class scatter using a PCA mixture model that can represent more complex distribution. The second extension overcomes the second problem by taking different transformation for each class in order to provide class-wise features. The third extension combines these two modifications by representing each class in terms of the PCA mixture model and taking different transformation for each mixture component. It is shown that all our proposed extensions of LDA outperform LDA concerning classification errors for synthetic data classification, hand-written digit recognition, and alphabet recognition. 相似文献

GaGdN layers were grown at temperatures below 300°C by radio-frequency plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy on sapphire
substrates. GaGdN samples with high Gd concentration as high as 12.5% were obtained by lowering the growth temperature. X-ray
diffraction results showed no obvious secondary phase, which means that the phase separation can be suppressed by the growth
at low temperatures. All samples, including those grown at room temperature, showed ferromagnetic characteristics. Photoluminescence
emission was observed, though spectra exhibit broad and sharp luminescence bands related to many kinds of defects. It is suggested
that electrons coming from defects, especially, nitrogen vacancy, stabilize ferromagnetism, and that the carrier-induced ferromagnetism

This paper proposes a new LDMOSFET structure with a trenched sinker for high‐power RF amplifiers. Using a low‐temperature, deep‐trench technology, we succeeded in drastically shrinking the sinker area to one‐third the size of the conventional diffusion‐type structure. The RF performance of the proposed device with a channel width of 5 mm showed a small signal gain of 16.5 dB and a maximum peak power of 32 dBm with a power‐added efficiency of 25% at 2 GHz. Furthermore, the trench sinker, which was applied to the guard ring to suppress coupling between inductors, showed an excellent blocking performance below ?40 dB at a frequency of up to 20 GHz. These results confirm that the proposed trenched sinker should be an effective technology both as a compact sinker for RF power devices and as a guard ring against coupling. 相似文献

We propose an efficient scheme for camera motion characterization in MPEG‐compressed video. The proposed scheme detects six types of basic camera motions through threshold‐based qualitative interpretation, in which fixed thresholds are applied to motion model parameters estimated from MPEG motion vectors (MVs). To specify manufacturing tolerances of a reflector antenna, various errors such as random surface errors and misalignment errors must be considered at one time because superposition of the effects of those errors may not hold. Based on the Rahmat-Samii's formulation (1983), a method for computing efficiently the average power pattern of a reflector antenna with those errors is presented.
