This paper introduces an integrated circuit (IC)/microfluidic hybrid system for magnetic manipulation of biological cells. The hybrid system consists of an IC and a microfluidic system fabricated on top. Biological cells attached to magnetic beads are suspended inside the microfluidic system that maintains biocompatibility. The IC contains a microcoil array circuit that produces spatially-patterned microscopic magnetic fields. Programmable, rapid reconfiguration of the field pattern made possible by the IC allows an efficient simultaneous manipulation of multiple individual bead-bound cells with precise position control. Two prototypes, SiGe/microfluidic and CMOS/microfluidic hybrid systems, validate the proposed approach. 相似文献

We present AB9, a neural processor for inference acceleration. AB9 consists of a systolic tensor core (STC) neural network accelerator designed to accelerate artificial intelligence applications by exploiting the data reuse and parallelism characteristics inherent in neural networks while providing fast access to large on‐chip memory. Complementing the hardware is an intuitive and user‐friendly development environment that includes a simulator and an implementation flow that provides a high degree of programmability with a short development time. Along with a 40‐TFLOP STC that includes 32k arithmetic units and over 36 MB of on‐chip SRAM, our baseline implementation of AB9 consists of a 1‐GHz quad‐core setup with other various industry‐standard peripheral intellectual properties. The acceleration performance and power efficiency were evaluated using YOLOv2, and the results show that AB9 has superior performance and power efficiency to that of a general‐purpose graphics processing unit implementation. AB9 has been taped out in the TSMC 28‐nm process with a chip size of 17 × 23 mm2. Delivery is expected later this year. 相似文献

A new approach for the electro-thermal modeling of LDMOSFETs for power-amplifier design that bypasses pulsed-IVs and pulsed-RF measurements is presented in this paper. The existence of low-frequency dispersion in LDMOSFETs is demonstrated by comparing pulsed IVs with iso-thermal IVs. The modeling technique uses iso-thermal IV and microwave measurements to obtain the temperature dependence of small-signal parameters. Optimized tensor-product B-splines, which distribute knots to minimize fitting errors, are used to represent the small-signal parameters and extract the large-signal model as a function of voltages and temperature. The model is implemented on ADS and is verified by simulating and measuring the power harmonics and IMD large-signal performance of a power amplifier. The impact on the model of temperature-dependent drain and gate charge is investigated. A direct printing method for fabricating devices by using metal oxide transfer layers instead of conventional transfer media such as polydimethylsiloxane is presented. Metal oxides are not damaged by organic solvents; therefore, electrodes with gaps less than 2 μm can be defined on a metal oxide transfer layer through photolithography. In order to determine a suitable metal oxide for use as transfer layer, the surface energies of various metal oxides are measured, and Au layers deposited on these oxides are transferred onto polyvinylphenol (PVP). To verify the feasibility of our approach, Au source–drain electrodes on transfer layers and Si nanowires (NWs) addressed by the dielectrophoretic (DEP) alignment process are transferred onto rigid and flexible PVP‐coated substrates. Based on transfer test and DEP process, Al2O3 is determined to be the best transfer layer. Finally, Si NWs field effect transistors (FETs) are fabricated on a rigid Si substrate and a flexible polyimide film. As the channel length decreases from 3.442 to 1.767 μm, the mobility of FET on the Si substrate increases from 127.61 ± 37.64 to 181.60 ± 23.73 cm2 V?1 s?1. Furthermore, the flexible Si NWs FETs fabricated through this process show enhanced electrical properties with an increasing number of bending cycles. 相似文献

This paper presents a novel method for inferring the odor based on neural activities observed from rats' main olfactory bulbs. Multichannel extracellular single unit recordings were done by microwire electrodes (tungsten, 50 μm, 32 channels) implanted in the mitral/tufted cell layers of the main olfactory bulb of anesthetized rats to obtain neural responses to various odors. Neural response as a key feature was measured by subtraction of neural firing rate before stimulus from after. For odor inference, we have developed a decoding method based on the maximum likelihood estimation. The results have shown that the average decoding accuracy is about 100.0%, 96.0%, 84.0%, and 100.0% with four rats, respectively. 相似文献

The effects of purified salt (PS) and mineral‐rich sea salt (MRS), both with different mineral profiles, on kimchi fermentation were studied using a culture‐dependent 16S rRNA sequencing technique and mass‐based metabolomic analysis. The different mineral profiles in the fermentation medium caused changes in the bacterial profiles of the 2 kimchi products. An increase of Leuconostoc species in MRS‐kimchi decreased the Lactobacillus/Leuconostoc ratio, which led to changes in metabolites (including sugars, amino acids, organic acids, lipids, sulfur compounds, and terpenoids) associated with kimchi quality. Although further studies on the relationship between these salt types and kimchi fermentation are needed, these results suggested that the MRS treatment had positively affected the changes of the kimchi mineral contents, bacterial growth, and metabolite profiles, which are linked to kimchi quality. 相似文献

Erythroid differentiation regulator 1 (Erdr1) has previously been reported to control thymocyte selection via TCR signal regulation, but the effect of Erdr1 as a TCR signaling modulator was not studied in peripheral T cells. In this report, it was determined whether Erdr1 affected TCR signaling strength in CD4 T cells. Results revealed that Erdr1 significantly enhanced the anti-TCR antibody-mediated activation and proliferation of T cells while failing to activate T cells in the absence of TCR stimulation. In addition, Erdr1 amplified Ca2+ influx and the phosphorylation of PLCγ1 in CD4 T cells with the TCR stimuli. Furthermore, NFAT1 translocation into nuclei in CD4 T cells was also significantly promoted by Erdr1 in the presence of TCR stimulation. Taken together, our results indicate that Erdr1 positively modulates TCR signaling strength via enhancing the PLCγ1/Ca2+/NFAT1 signal transduction pathway. 相似文献
