This paper proposes a hybrid technique combining a new heuristic algorithm named seeker optimization algorithm (SOA) and sequential quadratic programming (SQP) method for solving dynamic economic dispatch problem with valve-point effects. The SOA is based on the concept of simulating the act of human searching, where the search direction is based on the empirical gradient (EG) by evaluating the response to the position changes and the step length is based on uncertainty reasoning by using a simple fuzzy rule. In this paper, SOA is used as a base level search, which can give a good direction to the optimal global region and SQP as a local search to fine tune the solution obtained from SOA. Thus SQP guides SOA to find optimal or near optimal solution in the complex search space. Two test systems i.e., 5 unit with losses and 10 unit without losses, have been taken to validate the efficiency of the proposed hybrid method. Simulation results clearly show that the proposed method outperforms the existing method in terms of solution quality.  相似文献

The present work aims at studying electrical relaxations in silver–polyaniline nanocomposites using dielectric spectroscopy. The nanocomposites of dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid-doped polyaniline (PANI) with different concentrations of silver nanoparticles (~6–12 nm) are synthesized by simple wet-chemical route. The temperature dependence of dc conductivity in all the samples follows three-dimensional variable range-hopping conduction mechanism. The loss factor, after having subtracted the dc contribution, shows a relaxation peak which simultaneously attributes to the frequency dispersion in conductivity spectra. The observed dielectric relaxation is well fitted by the Havriliak–Negami function, and the fitting parameters are determined. The temperature dependence of characteristic relaxation frequency and dc conductivity is in line with each other and bear a resemblance to the origin of dc transport and dielectric relaxation in these systems. The temperature behavior of the relaxation strength confirms that an exclusive hopping conduction of polarons in the disordered PANI matrix can be considered as the origin of the observed electrical properties of the systems. Further, the self-similar behavior of the real part of normalized ac conductivity, within the measured temperature range, also confirms the above inferences. The variation of frequency exponent with temperature suggests that ac conduction is due to the correlated barrier hopping of polarons which strongly affected by the dispersion of silver nanoparticles within the PANI matrix.  相似文献

This study aimed to describe contemporary technology use, especially smartphones and tablets (mobile touch screen devices), and examine associations with musculoskeletal symptoms and visual health among adolescents in Singapore. A representative sample of 1884 adolescents (50.4% girls) from grades primary 5 to post-secondary (10–18?years old), recruited from 13 schools, completed an online questionnaire in class. Total technology use was high, with smartphone duration being highest (mean?=?264 [SD?=?243] min/day). Patterns of use, including multitasking and bout length, were influenced by gender, school level, type of device and activities. Musculoskeletal discomfort and visual symptoms were commonly reported. After adjusting for potential confounders, more hours/day of smartphone use was associated with increased risk of neck/shoulders, upper back, arms and wrist/hand discomfort (OR?=?1.04[95%CI?=?1.01–1.07] to 1.07[1.03–1.10]) and visual symptoms (OR?=?1.05[1.02–1.08]), but was associated with decreased odds of myopia (OR?=?0.97[0.94–0.99]). No significant associations were found for tablet use.

Practitioner Summary: 1884 adolescents in Singapore completed an in-depth questionnaire regarding their use of technology. The smartphone was the device with the highest usage, and greater smartphone use was associated with increased odds of musculoskeletal and visual symptoms. High use of smartphones has physical health implications for adolescents.  相似文献

This paper presents a high speed, computationally efficient scheme for protection of transmission lines. The relay logic consists of three parts: directional protection, fault classification and fault location. Wavelet transform is used for extracting information from the fault transients and only the first level high frequency details of the voltages and currents are used. Proposed protection logic compares the directional signals from both terminals to discriminate between faults inside and outside the zone of interest. Fault classification is achieved using local terminal current information. An estimate of the location of the faults is obtained utilizing single faulted phase current information from both terminals. The logic is deterministic and can work reliably in the presence of fault resistance, load variation and CT saturation. The validity of the proposed logic was exhaustively tested by simulating various types of faults on a four bus meshed system modeled in EMTP/ATP.  相似文献

The mixed convection in a fluid‐porous composite medium lying inside a square cavity with a centrally rotating cylinder has been investigated in the present work. The bottom half of the cavity is filled with a porous material and the top half is filled with a clear fluid. The bottom wall of the cavity is at a higher temperature, and the top wall is at a lower temperature. The vertical walls are thermally insulated. The convection inside the cavity sets through the combined mechanisms of the thermal buoyancy force and the shearing action of the centrally rotating cylinder. The relative importance of each driving mechanism over the other is featured through the Richardson number. The Darcy–Brinkman–Forchheimer equation is used for the flow modeling in the porous medium, and a single‐domain approach is adopted for the numerical solution in the fluid‐porous composite medium. The simulation is carried out with ANSYS Fluent software, and a parametric analysis involving the Rayleigh number (), Richardson number (), and the Darcy number () is conducted showing their effects on the flow and heat transfer. The phenomena are quite interesting at higher Darcy number and Rayleigh number. The distributions of isotherms, streamlines, and vector plots are plotted, along with the local Nusselt numbers for different parameters, to explore the underlying physics of the phenomenon. The system is found stable at lower Darcy number, and the heat transfer is minimum around Ri = 10. From the numerical study, an empirical correlation for the average Nusselt number is developed as a function of the other dimensionless numbers.  相似文献

Radio path loss measurements were conducted in various tropical rain forests of India at frequencies from 50 to 800 MHz, antenna heights from 1.5 m to 16.5 m above ground with both horizontally and vertically polarized emissions, and at a large variety of path ranges. The results from a series of antenna height-gain measurements in the forest vegetation are presented. Based on the data thus collected, an empirical model is suggested to assess quantitatively the antenna height gain as a function of frequency and antenna heights.  相似文献

A parametric study has been carried out using the numerical analysis code FLAC3D to obtain the influence of various shapes of underground openings on the maximum induced boundary stress. Five shapes—viz. circular, horseshoe, rectangular, elongated D-shape and elliptical—have been considered. For each shape, four tunnel depths and five horizontal in situ stress models have been taken for the study of induced boundary stresses.The values of maximum and minimum induced boundary stresses in the roof and wall have been obtained from the analyses. This data has subsequently been used to develop correlations to estimate the normalized maximum and minimum boundary stresses, which have been subsequently compared with the strength of the rock mass obtained from the Sheorey's non-linear failure criterion for three rock masses represented by three values of Bieniawski's RMR and three values of crushing strength of intact rock material. The values of minimum factor of safety at the roof and the wall have been collected from all the plots. Using these data sets, different correlations have been developed to estimate the minimum factor of safety (fmin) in the roof and wall.Since the bolt length should be normalized with the opening size, some more computer models have been run with varying tunnel width of 5 and 20 m besides the earlier 10 m size to obtain the correlations for estimating the bolt length. The depth of factor of safety contour of 1.5 from the opening periphery has been picked up from all these models and the correlations have been developed for estimating the roof and wall bolt length for the five shapes of underground openings. The correlations for bolt length show that in addition to the shape of underground openings and in situ stress, the bolt length also varies with the rock mass type. These correlations have been verified for field cases of elongated D-shape openings.  相似文献
