The initial stages of oxide growth on titanium are examined in a recently developed commercial alkaline pyrophosphate/aluminate electrolyte of interest for plasma electrolytic oxidation of light metal alloys. Constant current anodizing was employed, with resultant films examined by scanning and transmission electron microscopies and Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy. The initial film is relatively uniform and composed of TiO2, with low concentrations of aluminium and phosphorus species incorporated from the electrolyte. With increase in voltage the film breaks down locally, and regions of original and modified film develop simultaneously, with the latter occupying more of the surface as the voltage rises. Porous regions due to dielectric breakdown also become increasingly evident. At 240 V, sparking commences, and the surface reveals extensive, relatively uniform porosity, with the coating now containing much enhanced concentrations of aluminium and phosphorus species compared with the coating at lower voltages. The films develop at low efficiency due to generation of oxygen. The oxygen is produced within the original film material and at sites of dielectric breakdown. The former type of film develops a two-layered morphology, with an outer layer of amorphous TiO2 and an inner layer with numerous fine and course cavities. The ionic transport numbers in barrier anodic films, formed on an Al–5.7at.%W alloy in 0.1 M sodium tungstate electrolyte at 293 K, have been measured for current densities from 0.1 to 1000 mA cm−2. For this purpose, a xenon marker was ion implanted with a fluence of 1.5 × 1015 ions cm−2 into a film formed to 10 V on the alloy, which was then further anodized to 150 V. The position of the marker layer in the final film was determined by transmission electron microscopy and Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy. The cation transport number was 0.38, with no dependence upon current density to an accuracy of 10%. 相似文献

Anodizing of solid-solution Al-1at.%Cu alloy in ammonium pentaborate electrolyte is shown to develop two distinct types of amorphous film. On alloy grains of {1 0 0} orientation, the alumina film is of uniform thickness and relatively featureless. For other grains, the film is of non-uniform thickness and contains oxygen bubbles. In both cases, copper species are distributed throughout the film. Copper is enriched in the alloy to ∼5.8×1015 Cu atoms cm−2 for bubble-free grains, with similar or slightly lower levels for other grains. Evidently, copper enrichment alone does not lead to generation of oxygen. Other factors suggested to be involved, each dependent upon grain orientation, are the structure of the enriched alloy layer, the cyclic nature of the oxidation of copper, and the generation of modulated film compositions. 相似文献

The silicon clathrates--materials composed of metal-doped Si(20) dodecahedra--were identified as the first superconductors based on pure silicon networks. The mechanism of superconductivity in these materials can be obtained by studying their phonon modes, as modified by isotope substitution, and specific-heat measurements. Here, we present experimental studies that provide strong evidence that superconductivity in Ba(8)Si(46) is explained in the framework of phonon-mediated Bardeen-Cooper-Schriefer theory. Analyses using the McMillan approximation of the Eliashberg equation indicate that the superconducting mechanism is in the medium coupling regime, but at the high-end limit. The large density of states at the Fermi level, which arises from hybridization of the Si(20) cluster and Ba orbitals, is responsible for the unexpectedly high superconducting temperature. The temperature evolution of the specific heat unambiguously shows that this is an s-wave symmetry superconductor. 相似文献

Catalysts were used to enhance NOx removal reactions by the nonthermal plasma from room temperature to high temperature (500°C). The NOx removal rate was significantly affected by the type of the catalyst or the gas temperature. When the conventional three-way catalyst for automobiles was activated at 500°C, nonthermal plasma was not effective in removing NOx. When hydrocarbons (ethylene) were added to the synthetic flue gas, zeolite catalyst became very active at high temperature, The combination effect of nonthermal plasma and catalyst was confirmed below 200°C. More than 80% of NOx was removed from synthetic flue gas by the combination of zeolite catalyst and hydrocarbons without nonthermal plasma discharge at 500 °C. BACKGROUND: Tocotrienols, lipid-soluble antioxidants with vitamin E activity, have been reported to lower LDL-cholesterol concentrations and platelet aggregation in men, but results are contradictory. OBJECTIVE: To examine in detail the effects of a vitamin E concentrate rich in tocotrienols on serum lipoproteins and on platelet function in men at risk for cardiovascular disease. DESIGN: In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallel trial, 20 men received daily for 6 wk 4 capsules, each containing 35 mg tocotrienols and 20 mg alpha-tocopherol; 20 other men received 4 capsules daily, each providing 20 mg alpha-tocopherol. All men had concentrations of serum total cholesterol between 6.5 and 8.0 mmol/L or lipoprotein(a) concentrations > 150 mg/L. RESULTS: Compliance was confirmed by changes in serum tocopherol and tocotrienol concentrations. Serum LDL cholesterol in the tocotrienol group was 4.80 mmol/L before and 4.79 mmol/L after intervention, and increased from 4.70 to 4.86 mmol/L in the placebo group (95% CI for the difference: -0.54, 0.19 mmol/L; P = 0.333). Also, changes in HDL cholesterol, triacylglycerol, lipoprotein(a), and lipid peroxide concentrations did not differ between the groups. After adjustment for differences in initial values, no effects were found on collagen-induced platelet aggregation velocity, maximum aggregation, or thromboxane B2 formation in citrated whole blood. ATP release, however, was lower in the tocotrienol group. Urinary thromboxane B2 and 11-keto-thromboxane B2 concentrations and coagulation and fibrinolytic measures did not change. CONCLUSION: The tocotrienol supplements used had no marked favorable effects on the serum lipoprotein profile or on platelet function in men with slightly elevated lipid concentrations. 相似文献

To clarify the host immune response and explore a new serological marker of lung cancer, we examined serum c-Myc antigens and auto-antibodies against c-Myc in 68 lung cancer patients and 30 healthy volunteers using bacterially synthesized glutathione S-transferase c-Myc fusion proteins and immunoblotting. The detection rate of anti-c-Myc antibodies was 13.2% (9/68) in lung cancer patients and 3.3% (1/30) in healthy volunteers. These anti-c-Myc antibodies were directed toward exon 2 alone (4/68), exon 3 alone (1/68), and both exon 2 and exon 3 (4/68) of c-Myc. Circulating c-Myc antigen was not detected in any individuals with lung cancer and normal controls. Age, sex, performance status, histology, stage, smoking history, and prior treatment of the patients with and without anti-c-Myc antibodies were not significantly different. The low incidence of anti-c-Myc antibodies and c-Myc antigens in peripheral blood suggests that these examinations are not useful in the serological diagnosis of lung cancer. 相似文献

Zn-Al-Mg-Ga alloys as Pb-free solder for die-attaching use 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Zn-based alloys have been investigated to replace Pb-5%Sn solder for die-attaching use. We have found that a Zn-4%Al-3%Mg-3%Ga
alloy has a 309°C solidus and a 347°C liquidus. A die-attaching test was done with preforms of this alloy, Ag-plated lead-frames,
and Au-plated dummy dies. Good die-attaching with a small amount of voids can be achieved at 320°C or higher. In subsequent
reliability tests, no failure was observed until 1000 cycles between −65°C and 150°C or until 1000 h at 85°C and 85% humidity.
Although the poor workability and poor ability of stress relaxation at room temperature of this alloy may somewhat limit its
application areas, this solder is the first Pb-free solder for die-attaching use to our knowledge. 相似文献
