The human obesity gene map: the 1997 update

An update of the human obesity gene map incorporating published results up to October 1997 is presented. Evidence from Mendelian disorders exhibiting obesity as a clinical feature; single-gene mutation rodent models; quantitative trait loci uncovered in human genome-wide scans and in crossbreeding experiments with mouse, rat, and pig models; association and case-control studies with candidate genes; and linkage studies with genes and other markers is reviewed. All chromosomal locations of the animal loci are converted into human genome locations based on syntenic relationships between the genomes. A complete listing of all of these loci reveals that all but chromosome Y of the 24 human chromosomes are represented. Some chromosomes show at least three putative loci related to obesity on both arms (1, 2, 6, 8, 11, and 20) and several on one chromosome arm only (3p, 4q, 5q, 7q, 12q, 13q, 15q, 15p, 22q, and Xq). Studies reporting negative association and linkage results are also listed, with the exception of the unlinked markers from genome-wide scans.     

Long fiber reinforced polyamide and polycarbonate composites. II: Fatigue behavior and morphological property

Fatigue behavior and morphology of long glass fiber reinforced semicrystalline polyamide (nylon 6,6) and amorphous polycarbonate (PC) composites were investigated. The fiber length distribution in the molded samples was calculated by image analyzer. The tension-tension fatigue loading tests at various levels of stress amplitudes were studied. The two-parameter Weibull distribution function were applied to obtain the statistical probability distribution of experimental data. A good correlation existed between the experimental data and the Weibull distribution curves. Straight line S? N curves of long glass fiber reinforced semicrystalline polyamide and amorphous polycarbonate composites at various probabilities were established. The stiffness of the composite under tension-tension fatigue loading was measured. The thermal stress history was also investigated by thermo-imaging techniques during fatigue life testing. Further, failure morphology was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the fracture behavior of the ductile damage in polyamide is different from the brittle damage in polycarbonate.     

重力坝深(底)孔断面钢筋混凝土模型试验研究

文通过7个小尺寸和1个大尺寸的钢筋混凝土断面模型试验，研究重力坝深(底)孔在坝体自重和内水压力以及超内水压力作用下的结构特性和破坏规律。重点探讨混凝土和钢筋应力应变、混凝土开裂、裂缝宽度和裂缝扩展规律，为建立更为科学的孔口配筋理论提供依据。     

An extensive Markov system for ECG exact coding

An extensive Markov process, which considers both the coding redundancy and the intersample redundancy, is presented to measure the entropy value of an ECG signal more accurately. It utilizes the intersample correlations by predicting the incoming n samples based on the previous m samples which constitute an extensive Markov process state. Theories of the extensive Markov process and conventional n repeated applications of m-th order Markov process are studied first. After that, they are realized for ECG exact coding. Results show that a better performance can be achieved by the authors' system. The average code length for the extensive Markov system on the second difference signals was 2.512 b/sample, while the average Huffman code length for the second difference signals was 3.326 b/sample     

Endothelin-1 concentrations and optimisation of arterial oxygenation and venous admixture by selective pulmonary artery infusion of prostaglandin E1 during thoracotomy

PURPOSE: To demonstrate a superselective intraarterial chemotherapy as a therapeutic alternative in the treatment of previously treated recurrent lymph node metastases in breast cancer. METHODS: 14 patients with recurrent lymph node metastases in cases of breast cancer were presented to be treated by intraarterial chemotherapy of 25 mg mitoxantrone/m2 over a period of 24 hours. In two patients with superclavicular lymph node involvement an intraarterial therapy could not be carried out because of a vascular connection to the anterior spinal artery. Involved lymph stations could be reached in superselective technique by side branches of the subclavian artery. Heparin coverage was given intravenously. Every patient had had surgery, radiation, systemic chemo- and hormonal therapy before and was now graded as inoperable. Therapy indication was given by local tumour-induced symptoms. RESULTS: In the 12 treated cases complete remission was seen in three, partial remission in 4, a steady state in two and a progressive disease in three. There were no complications or severe side effects. CONCLUSION: Intraarterial chemotherapy is an effective and well tolerated treatment in recurrent lymph node metastases in cases of breast cancer even if conventional therapies can no longer be used.     

各型抽油机在青海油田的应用分析

根据青海油田近20多a来购置、改造和使用的30余种各型抽油机,结合油田实际应用状况,分析比较了常规型游梁式、机械式节能型和智能变频控制柜节能型等3大类抽油机在青海油田的应用及节能情况,认为智能变频控制柜节能型抽油机应是今后油田推广和应用的方向。     

Partitioning and mapping nested loops on multiprocessor systems

A method for executing nested loops with constant loop-carried dependencies in parallel on message-passing multiprocessor systems to reduce communication overhead is presented. In the partitioning phase, the nested loop is divided into blocks that reduce the interblock communication, without regard to the machine topology. The execution ordering of the iterations is defined by a given time function based on L. Lamport's (1974) hyperplane method. The iterations are then partitioned into blocks so that the execution ordering is not disturbed, and the amount of interblock communication is minimized. In the mapping phase, the partitioned blocks are mapped onto a fixed-size multiprocessor system in such a manner that the blocks that have to exchange data frequently are allocated to the same processor or neighboring processors. A heuristic mapping algorithm for hypercube machines is proposed

阐述了耐高温绝缘GFRP管的成型工艺及原材料选择，并对影响成型工艺的主要因素作了理论分析及试验验证。研究表明，以TDE－85／DDS体系为为基体，以无碱无捻玻璃纤维方格布为增强材料，用VARTM工艺成型的石油勘探高性能平衡管完全满足技术要求。
