A new type of arc plasma reactor with 12-phase alternating current (AC) discharge for synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is proposed. A couple of six discharge electrodes by which have mutually electrical connection between them to enlarge the high-temperature regions in the reactor are arranged to three-dimensional locations. This paper describes the generation of adaptive gait patterns using new Central Pattern Generators (CPGs) including motor dynamic models for a quadruped robot under various environments. The CPGs act as the flexible oscillators of the joints and adjust joint angles to required values. The CPGs are interconnected with each other and sets of their coupling parameters are adjusted by a genetic algorithm so that the quadruped robot can realize stable and adequate gait patterns. Generation of gait patterns results in the formation of the CPG networks suitable for the formation of not only a straight walking pattern but also of rotating gait patterns. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed CPG networks are effective for the automatic adjustment of the adaptive gait patterns for the tested quadruped robot under various environments. Furthermore, the target tracking control based on image processing is achieved by combining the general gait patterns. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The stress intensity factor (SIF) is widely used for evaluating integrity of cracked components. Averaging the anisotropy of each crystal, the macroscopic behavior of polycrystalline materials is isotropic and homogenous in terms of elastic deformation. However, the anisotropic and/or inhomogeneous property influences on the stress field around a crack if the crack size is small in comparison with the grain. Thus, the SIF of the microstructurally small crack may differ from that in the isotropic body. In present study, the effect of anisotropic/inhomogeneous elasticity on the SIF is investigated by using the finite element analysis (FEA). At first, the SIFs of semi-circular crack in a single crystal and a polycrystalline material are calculated. These reveal that the magnitude of SIF is dependent not only on the crystal orientation but also on the deformation constraint by the neighboring crystals. Then, the statistical scatter of SIF due to the random orientation of crystal orientation in a polycrystal is examined by a Monte Carlo simulation. 相似文献

Power system control equipment needs higher sensitivity and operational reliability. Advanced voltage control equipment is needed for reducing the frequency of tap changes and improving the characteristics (the relationship between the actual voltage and reference voltage) of the voltage to meet today's power system requirements. However, these objectives are in a trade-off relationship. Studies of voltage control derived from a knowledge base suitable for electric power systems can satisfy these objectives using fuzzy inference. Compared with corresponding conventional equipment, the new equipment improved the deviation of 30 min average voltage of 30 percent. This paper describes the design concept of new voltage control equipment using fuzzy inference. In addition, field test results are described along with rules of fuzzy inference, membership functions, and the deviation of 30 min average voltage through detailed simulation. 相似文献

1. Vasoconstrictor responses of the isolated and perfused canine epicardial coronary artery to uridine 5'-triphosphate (UTP) were analysed pharmacologically. 2. At basal perfusion pressure, UTP induced vasoconstriction in a dose-related manner and the vasoconstriction was sometimes followed by a slight vasodilatation at large doses (more than 10 nmol). The rank order of potency for vasoconstriction was UTP = UDP > ATP > TTP > or = ITP > UMP. At raised perfusion pressure by 20 mM KCl, the vasoconstriction was not changed and a small vasodilatation was induced at large doses. The rank order of potency for vasodilatation was induced at large doses. The rank order of potency for vasodilatation was ATP > ITP > or = UDP > UTP > or = TTP. The maximal vasodilator response to UTP was much less than that to ATP. UMP did not induce vasodilatation. 3. The P2X receptor agonist and desensitizing agent alpha, beta-methylene ATP (1 microM) and the P2 receptor antagonist suramin (100 microM) inhibited the vasoconstrictor responses to ATP but not those to UTP and UDP. The P2 receptor antagonist reactive blue 2 (30 microM) did not inhibit the vascular responses to UTP. 4. UTP (200 microM) desensitized the vasoconstrictor responses to UTP, but not either the vasodilator responses to UTP or the vasoconstrictor responses to ATP and UDP. UDP (200 microM) did not desensitize the vascular responses to UTP. 5. Preincubating the UDP stock solution and arterial preparation with hexokinase (10 and 1 uml-1, respectively) did not change the vasoconstrictor responses to UDP. 6. The Ca channel blocker diltiazem (1 microM) inhibited the vasoconstrictor responses to UTP but not those to ATP and UDP. Incubation in a Ca(2+)-free solution containing 1 mM EGTA inhibited the vascular responses to ATP, UTP and UDP. 7. Removal of the endothelium by an intraluminal injection of saponin (1 mg) inhibited the vasodilator responses to UTP. Indomethacin, a cyclo-oxygenase inhibitor (1 microM), inhibited the vasodilator responses to UTP, but NG-nitro-L-arginine, a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor (300 microM), did not have an inhibitory effect. 8. The results suggest that (1) UTP induces vasoconstriction via UTP-preferring P2Y receptors on the smooth muscle and vasodilatation via receptors different from those mediating the vasoconstriction induced by UTP and mediating the vasodilatation by ATP on the endothelium, through mainly the release of prostacyclin in the canine epicardial coronary artery; (2) UDP induces vasoconstriction via UDP-preferring P2Y receptors; and (3) L-type Ca ion channels are involved in the vasoconstriction induced by UTP, but not in that induced by UDP. 相似文献

The present study aimed to examine the effect of melatonin on naloxone-induced luteinizing hormone (LH) secretion in ovariectomized estrogen-primed rats. A single intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) injection of naloxone (mu opioid receptor blocker, 15 micrograms) or an intravenous (i.v.) injection of LH-releasing hormone (LHRH, 50 ng/kg) elicited a transient and significant increase in the serum LH concentration within 10 min. While an i.c.v. injection of 100 ng melatonin by itself did not change the basal LH release, it almost completely inhibited the naloxone-induced LH release. Melatonin (10 ng) also significantly reduced the effect of naloxone. However, an i.c.v. injection of 100 ng melatonin did not affect the LHRH-induced LH release. In separate experiments, the effect of melatonin on naloxone-induced pulsatile LH secretion was studied in estrogen-treated rats. A continuous i.v. infusion of naloxone (20 mg/kg/h) induced LH pulses in rats treated i.c.v. with saline. An i.c.v. administration of 100 ng melatonin, which by itself did not affect basal LH secretion, significantly reduced the frequency, but not the amplitude, of LH pulses induced by the naloxone infusion. These results show that melatonin has a suprapituitary site of action to inhibit naloxone-induced LH release, and suggest that melatonin has an effect in inhibiting the activity of the hypothalamic LHRH pulse generator, either directly or indirectly, in female rats. 相似文献

The hydrolysis of glucosidic linkage catalyzed by every carbohydrate-hydrolase is a reaction in which the product retains (alpha-->alpha or beta-->beta) or inverts (alpha-->beta or beta-->alpha) the anomeric configuration of the substrate. alpha-Glucosidase and glucoamylase are essentially distinguished by releasing alpha-glucose and beta-glucose, respectively, from the common substrates having alpha-glucosidic linkage. The distinction in the substrate specificities of the two enzymes was explained by the subsite affinities in their active sites. The amino acid sequences of the regions containing the catalytic sites were compared in alpha-glucosidases and glucoamylases from various sources. alpha-Glucosidases were suggested to be grouped into two families by their primary structures. The catalytic reaction mechanisms of carbohydrate-hydrolases were discussed in the two significant models of a nucleophilic displacement mechanism and an oxocarbenium ion intermediate mechanism. 相似文献
