The present study systemically decolorized soy sauce using a membrane process to analyze the separation mechanism. An ultrafiltration (UF) membrane (NTU-2120) exhibited only slight decolorization ability. A nanofiltration (NF) membrane with a lower molecular weight cut-off and produced by sulfonated polysulfone (NTR-7400 series) rather than polyvinyl alcohol/polyamide (NTR-7250) had higher decolorization ability. The NF membranes rejected total nitrogen by 17–24%, unsalted soluble solid content by 24–32%, reducing sugar by 25–43%, and amino acids by 10–25%. The NTR-7400 series membrane rejected lactic acid by 6–9%, and pyroglutamic acid by 11–21%; other quality indexes were maintained. In the NF membrane processes, higher rejection of acidic amino acids than neutral and base amino acids was observed. The separation performance was governed by the electrical effect as well as the sieve effect. Soy sauce color could be controlled by blending NF membrane-processed soy sauce with feed soy sauce. Color can be matched to preference in accordance with dishes by suitably blending NF membrane-processed soy sauce with feed soy sauce. 相似文献

This paper reviews the synthesis and characterization of several transparent glass-ceramics with optical active nanocrystals. Glass-ceramics containing ferroelectric SrxBa1-xNb2O6 nanocrystals with an ellipsoidal shape show optical phase modulations in the presence of alternative electric fields. In the glass-ceramics with Ba2TiSi2O8 (BTS) nanocrystals, BTS crystalline layers with a thickness of approximately 120 nm are formed at the surface and ellipsoidal-shaped crystallites with a diameter of 100–200 nm are dispersed in the glass matrix. Some TeO2-based and GeO2-based glasses show a prominent nanocrystallization. RE-doped CaF2 nanocrystals are patterned in a spatially selected region by laser irradiations. The size, morphology, and dispersion state of nanocrystals should be carefully checked in each glass system and composition. The basic concept for the design of glass system and composition is also discussed. Some data on optical active performances in transparent glass-ceramics with nanocrystals were introduced. 相似文献

Rare-earth-doped Ca-α-SiAlON phosphors, with the compositions of (Ca1−3/2 x RE x ) m /2 Si12− m − n Al m+n O n N16− n (RE=Ce, Sm, and Dy, 0.5≤ m =2 n ≤3.0), were prepared by sintering at 1700°C for 2 h under 10 atm N2 . The concentration of rare earths varied from 3 to 30 at.% with respect to Ca. The photoluminescence (PL) properties were investigated as functions of the composition of the host matrix (i.e., m ) and the concentration of rare earths (i.e., x ). The results show that the emission properties can be optimized by tailoring m and x . The Ce3+ luminescence originating from the 4 f –5 d interconfigurational transitions is greatly affected by the environment surrounding the Ce3+ ions, which differs from the Sm3+ or Dy3+ luminescence arising from the 4 f –4 f intraconfigurational transitions. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used to explain the composition and concentration dependence of PL properties. 相似文献

The glass formation region, crystalline phases, second harmonic (SH) generation, and Nd:yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) laser-induced crystallization in the Sm2 O3 –Bi2 O3 –B2 O3 system were clarified. The crystalline phases of Bi4 B2 O9 , Bi3 B5 O12 , BiBO3 , Sm x Bi1− x BO3 , and SmB3 O6 were formed through the usual crystallization in an electric furnace. The crystallized glasses consisting of BiBO3 and Sm x Bi1− x BO3 showed SH generations. The formation of the nonlinear optical BiB3 O6 phase was not confirmed. The formation (writing) region of crystal lines consisting of Sm x Bi1− x BO3 by YAG laser irradiation was determined, in which Sm2 O3 contents were∼10 mol%. A process for electroplating amorphous gold-nickel alloy with the atomic ratio of unity was developed. The plating bath was prepared by adding potassium cyanoaurate(I) into a known plating bath which produces amorphous nickel-tungsten alloy. At a sufficiently high gold concentration, the alloy deposit did not contain any tungsten. The amorphous nature of the Au-Ni alloy produced in the new bath was confirmed by using TEM and THEED. Hardness, resistivity, and contact resistance of this new alloy were determined, and the results are discussed for applications as an electrical contact material. 相似文献

A fluorous micellar system in water has been created to produce a large interfacial area between these media that retains substrates, effectively facilitating intermolecular Diels–Alder reactions due to repulsion effects from both media. Because LiFOS functioned not only as a surfactant but also as a supporting electrolyte, an electrochemical approach could be introduced to evaluate the rate acceleration effects. Two pairs of raw and acid-washed coal samples were prepared from Yallourn and Loy Yang brown coals, and subjected to rapid pyrolysis in a drop-tube reactor at 1073-1173 K in a stream of N2 or H2O/N2 mixture. Examinations were made on the roles of the inherent metallic species in the secondary reactions of nascent tar and char that were formed by the intraparticle primary reactions. The experimental results revealed that the inherent metallic species were essential for vary rapid steam reforming/gasification of the nascent tar/char and simultaneous suppression of soot formation. In the absence of the metallic species, the soot formation from the tar accounted as much as 15-19 and 6-13% of the carbon in coal in N2 and H2O/N2, respectively. The metallic species reduced the yield of soot to 6-8% in N2 by enhancing the reforming of tar by H2O generated from the pyrolysis of coal. In the H2O/N2 stream, instead of soot formation, a net gasification conversion up to 17% within 4.3 s was observed in the presence of the metallic species as a result of catalytic gasification of the nascent char. Moreover, the metallic species catalyzed the steam reforming of the nascent tar, giving its conversion up to 99%. Over the range of the conditions employed, a one-to-one stoichiometry was established between the steam consumption and the yield of carbon oxides formed by the steam reforming/gasification and water-gas-shift reaction. 相似文献

The work presented here discusses a new technique for preparing silk fibers and films with persistent antimicrobial activity through use of metallic dyestuffs during the fiber dyeing process. The length of the silk fibers investigated contracted when the fibers were immersed in concentrated neutral salt solutions, such as calcium or potassium nitrate, at elevated temperature levels. The birefringence and molecular orientation of the silk fibroin molecules became less ordered by the action of the neutral salt solutions, resulting in increased dyestuff absorption. Subsequently, contracted silk fibers were dyed with metallic dyestuffs containing Cr or Cu for the purpose of obtaining silk fibers with antimicrobial activity. Silk fibers dyed with metallic dyestuffs showed significant antimicrobial activity against the plant pathogen Cornebacterium and the human pathogen Coli bacillus. Tensile strength of the silk fibers after the salt shrinking and dyeing processes did not show a significant change, whereas the elongation at break was increased slightly. The techniques described here for preparing significantly active antimicrobial silk fibers are effective and economic ways of providing new materials for industrial and biomedical applications. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The structural relaxation kinetics at the glass transition in tellurium oxide (TeO2 )-based glasses has been examined from viscosity and heat-capacity measurements to clarify the features of the structural relaxation in fragile oxide glass-forming liquids. A large decoupling between enthalpy relaxation and viscous flow, i.e., a large discrepancy between the activation energies for the enthalpy relaxation (recovery), Δ H , and viscous flow, E η , has been demonstrated in TeO2 -based glasses. The values in x K2 O· x MgO·(100 − 2 x )TeO2 glasses, for example, are ∼919–1051 kJ/mol for Δ H and ∼ 577–701 kJ/mol for E η , given the ratio of Δ H/E η ≈ 1.44–1.59. Some viscosity and heat-capacity data (all data have been reported previously) obtained from similar experiments in Sb2 O3 –B2 O3 glasses belonging to the category of strong glass-forming liquids have been reanalyzed in this paper for comparison; a strong coupling was found to exist between Δ H and E η , i.e., Δ H/E η ≈ 0.98–1.18. An origin of decoupling between Δ H and E η in fragile glass-forming systems such as TeO2 -based glasses has been discussed by considering the glass structure model for fragile glasses; strongly bonded correlated (highly constrained) regions are surrounded or connected by weakly bonded noncorrelated (unconstrained) parts. 相似文献

A novel vitamin E derivative, (6″-hydroxy-2″,5″,7″,8″-tetramethylchroman-2″-yl) methyl 3-(2′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)propionate
(TM4R), which has a chromanoxyl ring and 4-substituted resorcinol moieties, was synthesized; and its inhibitory effects on
tyrosinase, antioxidant ability, and lightening effect of ultraviolet B (UVB)-induced hyperpigmentation were estimated. TM4R
showed potent inhibitory activity on tyrosinase, which is the rate-limiting enzyme in melanogenesis. The scavenging activities
of TM4R on 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and hydroxyl radicals were found to be nearly the same as those of α-tocopherol.
Furthermore, an efficient lightening effect was observed following topical application of TM4R to UVB-stimulated hyperpigmented
dorsal skin of brownish guinea pigs. These results suggest that TM4R may be a candidate for an efficient whitening agent,
possibly by inhibiting tyrosinase activity and biological reactions caused by reactive oxygen species. 相似文献
