The present study attempts to develop a flow pattern indicator for gas–liquid flow in microchannel with the help of artificial neural network (ANN). Out of many neural networks present in literature, probabilistic neural network (PNN) has been chosen for the present study due to its speed in operation and accuracy in pattern recognition. The inbuilt code in MATLAB R2008a has been used to develop the PNN. During training, superficial velocity of gas and liquid phase, channel diameter, angle of inclination and fluid properties such as density, viscosity and surface tension have been considered as the governing parameters of the flow pattern. Data has been collected from the literature for air–water and nitrogen–water flow through different circular microchannel diameters (0.53, 0.25, 0.100 and 0.050 mm for nitrogen–water and 0.53, 0.22 mm for air–water). For the convenience of the study, the flow patterns available in literature have been classified into six categories namely; bubbly, slug, annular, churn, liquid ring and liquid lump flow. Single PNN model is unable to predict the flow pattern for the whole range (0.53 mm–0.050 mm) of microchannel diameter. That is why two separate PNN models has been developed to predict the flow patterns of gas–liquid flow through different channel diameter, one for diameter ranging from 0.53 mm to 0.22 mm and another for 0.100 mm–0.05 mm. The predicted map and their transition boundaries have been compared with the corresponding experimental data and have been found to be in good agreement. Whereas accuracy in prediction of transition boundary obtained from available analytical models used for conventional channel is less for all diameter of channel as compared to the present work. The percentage accuracy of PNN (~94% for 0.53 mm ID and ~73% for 0.100 mm ID channel) has also been found to be higher than the model based on Weber number (~86% for 0.53 mm ID and ~36% for 0.05 mm ID channel). 相似文献

The lipid content and the composition pattern of the lipid class including fatty acid composition in the eggs of two different Indian silurid cat fishes Ompok pabda and Wallagu attu have been examined. The lipid content of O. pabda and W. attu (on dry basis) are about 14.7% and 17.8% respectively. The major lipid classes are phospolipid (PL) and triacylglycerol (TAG). The O. pabda egg lipid contains more PL while the W. attu egg lipid contains more TAG. Phosphatidylcholine (PC) constitutes the major phospholipid followed by phosphatidylinositol (PI). PI represents in about 31.7% and 21.3% of total PC in O. pabda and W. attu respectively while phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) (about 28.0%) is significantly higher in the egg of W. attu than O. pabda (9.6%). Cholesterol content in egg of O. pabda is also higher (about 9.6%) than W. attu (4.1%). The lipids are rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and they are mainly concentrated in the respective PL fractions. Among PUFAs the arachidonic acid (20:4 n-6 AA) is present at about 9.3% in both egg PL. Eicosapentaenoic acid (20:5 n-3 EPA) is significantly lower in egg lipids of both W. attu (1.8%) and O. pabda (3.2%), whereas docosahexaenoic acid (22:6 n-3 DHA) is predominantly higher (14.6% and 18.1% in W. attu and O. pabda respectively) in their PL fractions. 相似文献

An extensive indoor experimental characterisation program to investigate the heat loss from a point focus Fresnel lens PV Concentrator (FPVC) with a concentration ratio of 100× was performed for a range of simulated solar radiation intensities between 200 and 1000 W/m2, different ambient air temperatures, and natural and forced convection. From the experimental program it was found that the solar cell temperature increased proportionally with the increase in simulated solar radiation for all experimental tests, indicating that conductive and convective heat transfer were significantly larger than the long wave radiative heat transfer within and from the FPVC system. For the simulated worst case scenario, in which the FPVC system was tested under a simulated solar radiation intensity of 1000 W/m2 and ambient air temperature of 50 °C with no forced convection, the predicted silicon solar cell efficiency in the FPVC system was reduced to approximately half that at standard test conditions. 相似文献
