Safety performance of MOX fuel based PbBi cooled small fast power reactors has been analyzed and discussed. Though the thermal conductivity of MOX fuel is not large relative to that of nitride or metal fuel, but by proper combination of relatively small power density and relatively large natural circulation it can compensate fuel temperature decrease with coolant temperature increase smartly during unprotected loss of flow accident. Under such condition, accident analysis discussed in this paper show that under unprotected total loss of flow (ULOF) accident the reactor can survive inherently using combination of reactivity feedback. For unprotected rod run out transient over power (UTOP) accident the MOX reactor can overcome external reactivity by smaller power increase compared to that of nitride fueled reactors case. In this case doppler feedback plays much more important role compared to radial expansion component. So the MOX fueled small power reactors discussed here can survive both UTOP and ULOF accident with still enough temperature margin.  相似文献

No Heading We have measured responses of vibrating wire resonators in superfluid 4He at millikelvin temperatures. We find evidence for turbulence generation above a critical velocity on the order of a few cm/s. At the critical velocity for the onset of turbulence, the resonator velocity abruptly decreases and shows hysteretic behavior. Surprisingly we find that the resonant frequencies of the resonators increase in the turbulent regime. We also find that the critical velocity may be reduced by the presence of turbulence generated by a neighboring vibrating wire resonator, allowing the detection of existing turbulence in the low temperature regime.PACS numbers: 67.40 Vs, 67.40 Pm  相似文献

Management of program data to improve data locality and reduce false sharing is critical for scaling performance on NUMA shared memory multiprocessors. We use HPF-like data decomposition directives to partition and place arrays in data-parallel applications on Hector, a shared-memory NUMA multiprocessor. We describe a compiler system for automating the partitioning and placement of arrays. The compiler exploits Hectors shared memory architecture to efficiently implement distributed arrays. Experimental results from a prototype implementation demonstrate the effectiveness of these techniques. They also demonstrate the magnitude of the performance improvement attainable when our compiler-based data management schemes are used instead of operating system data management policies; performance improves by up to a factor of 5.  相似文献

The traditional association rule mining framework produces many redundant rules. The extent of redundancy is a lot larger than previously suspected. We present a new framework for associations based on the concept of closed frequent itemsets. The number of non-redundant rules produced by the new approach is exponentially (in the length of the longest frequent itemset) smaller than the rule set from the traditional approach. Experiments using several “hard” as well as “easy” real and synthetic databases confirm the utility of our framework in terms of reduction in the number of rules presented to the user, and in terms of time.  相似文献

This paper describes the design, implementation, and experimental evaluation of a modular and extensible Java? Virtual Machine (JVM) infrastructure, called Jupiter. The infrastructure is intended to serve as a vehicle for our research on scalable JVM architectures for a cluster of PC workstations, with support for shared memory in software. Jupiter is constructed, using a building block architecture, out of many modules with small, simple interfaces. This flexible structure, similar to UNIX® shells that build complex command pipelines out of discrete programs, allows the rapid prototyping of our research ideas by confining changes in JVM design to a small number of modules. In spite of this flexibility, Jupiter delivers good performance. Experimental evaluation of the current implementation of Jupiter using the SPECjvm98 and the EPCC Java Grande single‐threaded and multithreaded benchmarks reflects competitive performance. Jupiter is on average about 2.5 times faster than Kaffe and about 2 times slower than the Sun Microsystems JDK (interpreter versions only). By providing a flexible JVM infrastructure that delivers competitive performance, we believe we have developed a framework that supports further research into JVM scalability. A series of symmetrical optical brighteners based on stilbene-oxadiazole derivatives were prepared by the simple synthetic route of a condensation reaction between 4,4′-dicarboxystilbene and N,N′-carbonyldiimidazole reagent, forming stilbene 4,4′-ethene-1,2-diyldibenzohydrazide as a key intermediate. The obtained compounds were characterised by analysis of nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis data. The absorption maximum wavelength, fluorescence emission wavelength, and fluorescence quantum yield were measured in N,N-dimethylformamide solution at room temperature, and the fluorescence properties of the prepared compounds in the solid state were observed and measured. The compounds exhibited bluish and greenish fluorescence emission, with the fluorescence quantum yield in the range 0.2–0.8; the effects of substituents on the emission spectra of these compounds were interpreted. The prepared compounds were applied as optical brighteners to polyester and polyamide-6 fabrics at various concentrations, and their CIE whiteness index and fastness properties were studied.  相似文献

Sorption-enhanced-steam-reforming (SESR) is a thermochemical conversion technology that produces a high-purity hydrogen stream by utilizing in-situ removal of CO2 with a sorbent. In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of CaO based sorbents, alkali-metal based sorbents (Na2ZrO3, Li2ZrO3 and Li4SiO4), hydrotalcite based sorbents, bifunctional materials and sorbents prepared from wastes are briefly discussed, and the techniques to improve the sorption properties of these CO2 sorbents are summarized. In the process of hydrogen production by sorption-enhanced-steam-reforming, the selection of suitable high-temperature CO2 sorbent is the key to produce high purity hydrogen. Furthermore, the hydrogen-production performance of the above-mentioned sorbents in the SESR process is investigated and summarized. Finally, a future perspective and some suggestions regarding these five types of sorbents are put forward.  相似文献

A side-chain type benzoxazine-functional cellulose has been developed using click chemistry via the reaction of ethynyl-monofunctional benzoxazine monomer and azide-functional cellulose. The synthesis, crosslinking, and thermal properties of the benzoxazine-functional cellulose are studied by NMR, FTIR, DSC, and TGA. The crosslinking reaction of the benzoxazine side-chain unusually takes place at low-temperatures in comparison to an ordinary benzoxazine resins. Upon crosslinking, the polymer shows high char yield of 40%, which is a marked improvement from a mere 4% of the unfunctionalized cellulose. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
