Technical and hygienic nonwovens, originating typically from fossil-based synthetic polymers, are the fastest growing applications in the textile industry. Recently developed thermoplastic cellulose fatty acid esters have polyolefin like rheology properties and therefore the suitability of these cellulose esters for fiber production was evaluated. In this study, the melt spinning of textile fibers has been demonstrated using thermoplastic cellulose octanoate. The mechanical properties of melt spun fibers were analyzed by using tensile testing and both the surface and cross-section morphology of melt spun fibers were studied using the scanning electron microscopy. The surfaces of the fibers were very smooth and also the cross-section was very uniform and no porosity was observed. While mechanical properties of the produced fibers are not yet as good as those reported for commercial polypropylene (PP) monofilament fibers, they are somewhat more comparable to other cellulose ester-based fibers. The melt spinning results indicate that the novel cellulose-based fibers can provide a renewable and recyclable alternative, for example, spun-laid PP in several hygienic textile and fully oriented in technical applications in future.  相似文献

Thermally promoted addition of undecylenic acid is studied as a method for modifying porous silicon optical reflectors that have been pre-treated with thermal hydrocarbonization. Successful derivatization of undecylenic acid is demonstrated and confirmed with Fourier transform infrared and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies. The results indicate that the hydrocarbonization pre-treatment considerably improves stability against oxidation and chemical dissolution in basic environments. The two-step treatment also does not cause an appreciable change on sample reflectance spectra, which enables the use of the functionalized structures in optical sensing applications.  相似文献

We consider a set of eight natural operations on formal languages (Kleene closure, positive closure, complement, prefix, suffix, factor, subword, and reversal), and compositions of them. If x and y are compositions, we say x is equivalent to y if they have the same effect on all languages L. We prove that the number of equivalence classes of these eight operations is finite. This implies that the orbit of any language L under the elements of the monoid is finite and bounded, independent of L. This generalizes previous results about complement, Kleene closure, and positive closure. We also estimate the number of distinct languages generated by various subsets of these operations.  相似文献

Fluid handling systems such as pump and fan systems are found to have a significant potential for energy efficiency improvements. To determine the energy-saving potential, there is a need for easily implementable methods to monitor the system output. This essential information provides an opportunity to identify inefficient operation of the fluid handling system and to control the output of the pumping system according to process needs. Model-based pump or fan monitoring methods implemented in variable-speed drives have proven to be able to give information on the system output without additional metering; however, the present model-based methods may not be usable or sufficiently accurate in the whole operation range of the fluid handling device. To apply model-based system monitoring in a wider selection of systems and to improve the accuracy of the monitoring, this paper proposes a new method for pump and fan output monitoring with variable-speed drives. The method uses a combination of already known operating point estimation methods. Laboratory measurements are used to verify the benefits and applicability of the improved estimation method, and the new method is compared with five previously introduced model-based estimation methods. According to the laboratory measurements, the new estimation method is the most accurate and reliable of the model-based estimation methods.  相似文献

An integrated receiver consisting of RF front ends, analog baseband (BB) chain with an analog to digital converter (ADC) for a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) implemented in 130 nm CMOS technology is presented in this paper. The circuits are integrated on a single chip with a size of 10.88 mm2. The RF front end consists of three parallel signal channel intended for L, C and X-band of the SAR receiver. The BB is selectable between 50 and 160 MHz bandwidths through switches. The ADC has selectable modes of 5, 6, 7 and 8 bits via control switches. The receiver has a nominal gain of 40 and 37 dB and noise figure of 11 and 13.5 dB for 160 MHz BB filter at room temperature for L-band and C-band, respectively. The circuits, which use a 1.2 V supply voltage, dissipate maximum power of 650 mW with 50 MHz BB and 8 bit mode ADC, and maximum power of 800 mW with 160 MHz BB and 8 bit mode ADC.  相似文献

Chalk rivers have been identified as providing an important habitat for a number of species; however, there are no formal defining criteria, and designation is problematical. This paper defines a chalk river and describes a methodology for identification, using information which is routinely collected by the Environment Agency. The general approach is suitable for a variety of areas within the UK and, for illustrative purposes, has been applied to LincoInshire. To demonstrate an application of this method, the nature-conservation value of Lincolnshire chalk rivers was assessed. Compared with other chalk-river systems in the UK, the Lincolnshire rivers were found to contain fewer species of macrophytes, invertebrates and mammals but a comparable diversity of fish.  相似文献

Evolving video coding standards demand functional flexibility for implementations, not only at design time but also after fabrication. This paper presents a System-on-Chip design approach with a feasible combination of performance, scalability, programmability, area efficiency, and design time effort for a video encoder. The encoder is based on a homogeneous master-slave processor architecture. Each slave encodes a part of the frame in the Single Program Multiple Data (SPMD) data parallel model. Both shared and distributed memory architectures are presented. Design effort is reduced by identical program codes, automated assembly of software and hardware modules independent of the number and type of processors, as well as our flexible on-chip communication network called Heterogeneous IP Block Interconnection (HIBI). A case study implementation with two to ten simple ARM7 processors, 32-bit HIBI bus and non-optimized processor-independent software gives the performance from 6 to 53 fps for QCIF. The whole encoder area ranges from 173 to 770 kgates excluding the memories. The relation scales reasonably well to systems with more powerful processors and optimized code. The optimization of the communication network shows that with more than six slaves even a serial HIBI connection with 100 MHz speed is feasible. HIBI and the parallelization approach allow exploration and optimization of the communication both at the application and architecture layers.
