The photoalignment process to align semiconductor quantum rods (QRs) in the liquid crystal monomer (LCM) matrix is a flexible technology; however, the optical quality of the resulting enhancement films drops at high concentrations of the QRs. The compatibility between the ligand shell on the QRs and the LCM plays an important role in avoiding this issue. Herein, several kinds of ligand shells on the rod‐in‐rod CdSe/CdS QRs are designed, without affecting the optical properties of QRs, and their compatibility with LCM molecules is studied. Promesogenic dendritic ligands in combination with relatively short alkylphosphonic acids are found to provide the highest optical quality, without QR aggregation, and so the high brightness of the resulting enhancement films, even at higher concentrations of QRs in LCM, which is perfectly suitable for the application in liquid crystal displays.  相似文献

Phenolic compounds constitute a group of secondary metabolites which have important functions in plants. Besides the beneficial effects on the plant host, phenolic metabolites (polyphenols) exhibit a series of biological properties that influence the human in a health-promoting manner. Evidence suggests that people can benefit from plant phenolics obtained either by the diet or through skin application, because they can alleviate symptoms and inhibit the development of various skin disorders. Due to their natural origin and low toxicity, phenolic compounds are a promising tool in eliminating the causes and effects of skin aging, skin diseases, and skin damage, including wounds and burns. Polyphenols also act protectively and help prevent or attenuate the progression of certain skin disorders, both embarrassing minor problems (e.g., wrinkles, acne) or serious, potentially life-threatening diseases such as cancer. This paper reviews the latest reports on the potential therapy of skin disorders through treatment with phenolic compounds, considering mostly a single specific compound or a combination of compounds in a plant extract.  相似文献

We report the development of Cd‐free buffers by atomic layer deposition for chalcopyrite‐based solar cells. Zn(O,S) buffer layers were prepared by atomic layer deposition on sequentially grown Cu(In,Ga)(Se,S)2 absorbers from Bosch Solar CISTech GmbH. An externally certified efficiency of 16.1% together with an open circuit voltage of 612 mV were achieved on laboratory scale devices. Stability tests show that the behavior of the ALD‐Zn(O,S)‐buffered devices can be characterized as stable only showing a minor drift of the open circuit voltage and the fill factor. In this study, chemical transformations of benzyl ester of О-(phenyl-2-acetamido-2,3-dideoxy-1-thio-β-d-glucopyranoside-3-yl)-d-lactoyl-l-alanyl-d-isoglutamine (SPhMDPOBn) on the fumed silica surface were examined, and the surface complex structure was characterized by temperature-programmed desorption mass spectrometry (TPD-MS), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and electrospray ion trap mass spectrometry (ES IT MS). Stages of pyrolysis of SPhMDPOBn in pristine state and on the silica surface have been determined. Probably, hydrogen-bonded complex forms between silanol surface groups and the C = O group of the acetamide moiety NH-(CH3)-C = O…H-O-Si≡. The thermal transformations of such hydrogen-bonded complex result in pyrolysis of SPhMDPOBn immobilized on the silica surface under TPD-MS conditions. The shifts ∆ν of amide I band (measured from 1,626 to 1,639 cm−l for SPhMDPOBn in pristine state) of 33 and 35 cm−l which occurred when SPhMDPOBn was immobilized on the silica surface may be caused by a weakening of the intramolecular hydrogen bonding of the SPhMDPOBn because the interaction with the silica surface as hydrogen bond with silanol groups is weaker than that in associates.  相似文献

The biomechanical parameters of muscle soleus contraction in rats and their blood biochemical indicators after the intramuscular administration of water-soluble C60 fullerene at doses of 0.5, 1, and 2 mg/kg 1 h before the onset of muscle ischemia were investigated. In particular, changes in the contraction force of the ischemic muscle soleus, the integrated power of the muscle, the time to achieve the maximum force response, the dynamics of fatigue processes, and the parameters of the transition from dentate to smooth tetanus, levels of creatinine, creatine kinase, lactate and lactate dehydrogenase, and parameters of prooxidant–antioxidant balance (thiobarbituric acid reactive substances, hydrogen peroxide, and reduced glutathione and catalase) were analyzed. The positive therapeutic changes in the studied biomechanical and biochemical markers were revealed, which indicate the possibility of using water-soluble C60 fullerenes as effective prophylactic nanoagents to reduce the severity of pathological conditions of the muscular system caused by ischemic damage to skeletal muscles.  相似文献

Nanoparticles tend to aggregate once integrated into soft matter and consequently, self‐assembling nanoparticles into large‐scale, regular, well‐defined, and ultimately chiral patterns remains an ongoing challenge toward the design and realization of organized superstructures of nanoparticles. The patterns of nanoparticles that are reported in liquid crystals so far are all static, and this lack of responsiveness extends to assemblies of nanoparticles formed in topological singularities and other localized structures of anisotropic matter. Here, it is shown that gold nanoparticles form spiral superstructures in polygonal fields of cholesteric liquid crystals. Moreover, when the cholesteric liquid crystals incorporate molecular photoswitches in their composition, the pitch of the nanoparticulate spirals follows the light‐induced reorganization of the cholesteric liquid crystals. These experimental findings indicate that chiral liquid crystals can be used as chiral and dynamic templates for soft photonic nanomaterials. Controlling the geometry of these spirals of nanoparticles will ultimately allow modulating the plasmonic signature of hybrid and chiral systems.  相似文献

The paper describes the experiments aimed at the extension of the method early proposed for the uniaxial fatigue monitoring to the multiaxial modes of loading. The common denominator for both methods approach is based on the possibility of computer‐aided optical analysis of extrusion/intrusion structure, called often surface deformation relief, to be used for quantitative assessment of accumulated fatigue damage and remaining life. Experimental data obtained under the different modes of loading are presented and described as well as some objectives for the future activities are outlined.  相似文献
