The growth of semiconductor (SC) nanowires (NW) by CVD using Au-catalyzed VLS process has been widely studied over the past few years. Among others SC, it is possible to grow pure Si or SiGe NW thanks to these techniques. Nevertheless, Au could deteriorate the electric properties of SC and the use of other metal catalysts will be mandatory if NW are to be designed for innovating electronic. First, this article's focus will be on SiGe NW's growth using Au catalyst. The authors managed to grow SiGe NW between 350 and 400°C. Ge concentration (x) in Si1-xGex NW has been successfully varied by modifying the gas flow ratio: R = GeH4/(SiH4 + GeH4). Characterization (by Raman spectroscopy and XRD) revealed concentrations varying from 0.2 to 0.46 on NW grown at 375°C, with R varying from 0.05 to 0.15. Second, the results of Si NW growths by CVD using alternatives catalysts such as platinum-, palladium- and nickel-silicides are presented. This study, carried out on a LPCVD furnace, aimed at defining Si NW growth conditions when using such catalysts. Since the growth temperatures investigated are lower than the eutectic temperatures of these Si-metal alloys, VSS growth is expected and observed. Different temperatures and HCl flow rates have been tested with the aim of minimizing 2D growth which induces an important tapering of the NW. Finally, mechanical characterization of single NW has been carried out using an AFM method developed at the LTM. It consists in measuring the deflection of an AFM tip while performing approach-retract curves at various positions along the length of a cantilevered NW. This approach allows the measurement of as-grown single NW's Young modulus and spring constant, and alleviates uncertainties inherent in single point measurement.  相似文献

The article deals with the effect of processing procedures and conditions on structural, morphological, and rheological properties of ternary blends composed of polyethylene (PE), polyamide (PA)‐12, and organically modified montmorillonite nanoclay with selective affinity. Samples were prepared from PE/PA and PA/PE blends, either by simultaneous mixing or from a polymer/clay masterbatch, using two processing conditions. The results have shown the existence of a weight fraction threshold, above which no significant processing effect was observed. Below this weight fraction threshold, the results tend to underline the significant role of two parameters that depend on processing procedures and/or conditions: the contact time between PE and PA phases and the contact time between clay and PA. Clay structure, blend morphology, and rheological properties were all shown to depend on these two parameters, and also on the nature of the matrix (PE or PA), because of the selective affinity of clay toward polymer phases. This work is part of a project aiming to develop a renewable fuel for gasification purposes, through convective drying of sludge/wood mixtures. The first step consists of characterizing the behavior of sawdust/sludge mixtures during the application of convective drying. The influence of the mixing step (no mixing versus 30 s at 40 rpm), as well as the sawdust : sludge ratio (1:9, 2:8, 3:7, and 4:6 on a dry basis) and the effect of drying temperature (50, 80, and 110°C) were investigated. In this study, X-ray tomography, a noninvasive imaging technique, is used to assess changes in the volume, void, and exchange surface at the beginning and the end of the drying process. Results first confirm the importance of the mixing step on the drying behavior: the drying rate of the mixed sludge is lower than that of the original sludge. Nevertheless, the addition of sawdust is shown to have a positive impact on the drying process from a mass ratio of 2:8, with drying rates higher than that of the original sludge. With increasing amounts of sawdust, the initial and final bed volumes, initial and final total exchange surfaces, and initial void fraction increase linearly, but the bed volume shrinkage and final void fraction decrease linearly.  相似文献

The aim of the present work is to study the effect of conventional textile treatments of woven flax on the mechanical properties and the water sorption of flax/epoxy composites. The flax fabrics are standard 2/2 twills. Various treatments are carried out on fabric such as mercerization, bleaching, and leaching for long fibers or on yarn such as leaching for short fibers. A model, based on a modified rule of mixture applied to composite reinforced with woven fabric, is developed to include the effect of fiber and porosity volume fractions on composite stiffness and strength. Most treatments improve tensile stiffness and strength of flax/epoxy composite and reduce composite water sorption. We prove by X‐ray fluorescence analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, and tensile tests of dry fabric that it is due to an improvement in the interfacial bonding between fibers and matrix. The best performances are achieved with bleaching and mercerization treatment. The weakest performances are obtained with the composites made with leached yarns. POLYM. Oxidation of solid gold was studied in chloroform solutions of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). We observed that, upon sonication, solid gold is oxidized and cetyltrimethylammonium tetrabromo aurate is formed. The Br ions act as a nucleophile that lowers the reduction potential of gold and molecular oxygen from the air acts as an oxidant. Addition of hydrazine to the sonicated solution leads to the formation of gold nanoparticles dispersed in chloroform.  相似文献

Abstract

Stoichiometric thin films of lead titanate (PbTiO3) have been grown “in situ” without postannealing on (0001) sapphire substrates by rf magnetron sputtering technique. X-ray diffraction scans have revealed that as-grown films consist of the perovskite phase and are polycrystalline with a high (111) orientation. The structure, the microstructure and the optical properties have been studied as a function of the process parameters i.e., substrate temperature, gas pressure and the target composition, in particular the lead content. We report the dependence of the deposition conditions on the optical constants. The optimum experimental conditions (100m Torr and 600°C) to produce thin films with high transparency and refractive indices (n = 2.61 at 633 nm), similar to values for bulk materials, are given in this paper.  相似文献

The spreading phenomena of particles during thermal spraying are quite difficult to observe given the kinetics of the process. In this work, the splat formation of glass and alumina is theoretically compared, showing that glass transition and low-thermal conductivity yield a higher ratio between cooling and flattening times, which strongly modifies their spreading behavior. Wipe tests show that splash—splat transition temperature can be modified by the glass composition and its subsequent hydrodynamic properties. The detection of peculiar remaining objects, such as fibers and wavelets shows the possibility of “freezing” some phenomena that are totally unobservable with crystalline oxides, except with high-velocity observations.  相似文献

The structural, magnetic and electrical properties of (La0.70−xNdx)Sr0.30Mn0.70Cr0.30O3 perovskites (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.30) prepared by the usual ceramic procedure were investigated. Structural Rietveld refinement revealed that these compounds crystallize in a rhombohedral perovskite structure when x = 0, 0.10 and 0.20, while for x = 0.30 the structure becomes orthorhombic (Pbnm). It was found that the substitution of La by Nd reduces the Curie temperature (TC). The FC, ZFC, M(H) and AC susceptibility measurements show typical canted-antiferromagnetism for the Nd-doped samples, in which a ferromagnetic component coexists with predominant antiferromagnetic interactions. The values of the magnetization (M(H)) decrease very slightly when increasing the Nd content, compared to the undoped sample (MS values at 5 T and 2 K are, respectively, 47.9, 47.3 and 47.5 emu/g for x = 0.10, 0.20 and 0.30, compared to 48.2 emu/g for x = 0), indicating that the Nd3+ contribution is negligible compared to the total moment of the ferromagnetic (Mn/Cr) network. The resistivity increases by several orders of magnitude with Nd-doping and the semi-conducting behaviour persists in the whole temperature range. The interaction between Mn4+–O–Cr3+and Cr3+–O–Cr3+ is responsible for the semi-conducting state.  相似文献

为了控制粉末注射成形零件的最终尺寸精度和力学性能,对316L不锈钢粉末注射成形件的烧结致密化行为进行了试验研究,分析了烧结温度和升温速率对试件致密化行为以及烧结件力学性能的影响.试验结果表明,致密化过程始于1080℃左右,主要在1200~1300℃的升温过程中快速进行,致密化速率随着升温速率的升高而升高.烧结件的抗拉强度、抗弯强度以及延伸率,不但取决于致密化程度,而且与微观结构有关.分析表明,将基于扩散控制和强度控制的烧结理论结合,可以有效地解释316L不锈钢粉末的致密化行为,需在现有的烧结模型中考虑强度影响因素,才能更真实地模拟烧结过程.  相似文献
