The fundamental paradigm shift from traditional value chains to agile service value networks implies new economic and organizational challenges. As coordination mechanisms, auctions have proven to perform quite well in situations where intangible and heterogeneous goods are traded. Nevertheless, traditional approaches in the area of multidimensional combinatorial auctions are not quite suitable to enable the trade of composite services. A flawless service execution and therefore the requester’s valuation highly depends on the accurate sequence of the functional parts of the composition, meaning that in contrary to service bundles, composite services only generate value through a valid order of their components. The authors present an abstract model as a formalization of service value networks. The model comprehends a graph-based mechanism implementation to allocate multidimensional service offers within the network, to impose penalties for non-performance and to determine prices for complex services. The mechanism and the bidding language support various types of QoS attributes and their (semantic) aggregation. It is analytically shown that this variant is incentive compatible with respect to all dimensions of the service offer (quality and price). Based on these results, the authors numerically analyze strategic behavior of participating service providers regarding possible collusion strategies.  相似文献

Responses of many real-world problems can only be evaluated perturbed by noise. In order to make an efficient optimization of these problems possible, intelligent optimization strategies successfully coping with noisy evaluations are required. In this article, a comprehensive review of existing kriging-based methods for the optimization of noisy functions is provided. In summary, ten methods for choosing the sequential samples are described using a unified formalism. They are compared on analytical benchmark problems, whereby the usual assumption of homoscedastic Gaussian noise made in the underlying models is meet. Different problem configurations (noise level, maximum number of observations, initial number of observations) and setups (covariance functions, budget, initial sample size) are considered. It is found that the choices of the initial sample size and the covariance function are not critical. The choice of the method, however, can result in significant differences in the performance. In particular, the three most intuitive criteria are found as poor alternatives. Although no criterion is found consistently more efficient than the others, two specialized methods appear more robust on average.  相似文献

In this study, the underlying mechanism for improved spinnability when mixing lignin and cellulose in solution was investigated. Co-processing of lignin and cellulose has previously been identified as a potential route for production of inexpensive and bio-based carbon fibers. The molecular order of cellulose contributes to the strength of the fibers and the high carbon content of lignin improves the yield during conversion to carbon fibers. The current work presents an additional benefit of combining lignin and cellulose; solutions that contain both lignin and cellulose could be air-gap spun at substantially higher draw ratios than pure cellulose solutions, that is, lignin improved the spinnability. Fibers were spun from solutions containing different ratios of lignin, from 0 to 70 wt%, and the critical draw ratio was determined at various temperatures of solution. The observations were followed by characterization of the solutions with shear and elongational viscosity and surface tension, but none of these methods could explain the beneficial effect of lignin on the spinnability. However, by measuring the take-up force it was found that lignin seems to stabilize against diameter fluctuations during spinning, and plausible explanations are discussed.  相似文献

Direct injection of samples on high-resolving mass spectrometers is an effective way to maximize analytical throughput and yet allow analyte discrimination in complex samples by mass-to-charge ratio. We present a platform of flow injection electrospray-time-of-flight mass spectrometry to profile small molecules in >1400 biological extracts per day at native mass resolution. We comprehensively benchmark the performance with more than 5000 injections of chemically defined standards and Escherichia coli cellular extracts obtained from miniscale cultivations. For at least 90% of tested compounds, we attain a linear response over 3 decades of concentration, interday coefficient of variation of <20%, and a mass accuracy of <0.001 amu. In polar Escherichia coli fractions, we reproducibly detected >1500 distinct ions in each mode. The accurate mass and correlation analysis enabled one to assign with good confidence 400-800 ions to electrospray derivatives of metabolites listed in the genome-wide reconstruction of Escherichia coli metabolism. Hence, we attain a coverage of about one-quarter of the total number of compounds listed in the reconstruction. Finally, we present an exemplary screen with Escherichia coli deletion mutants to show the exquisite capacity of the platform to identify lesions in primary metabolism at high throughputs.  相似文献

Callus cell cultures of Arabidopsis thaliana exposed to hypergravity (8×g), 2D clinorotation and random positioning exhibit changes in gene expression (Martzivanou et al., Protoplasma 229:155–162, 2006). In a recent investigation we could show that after 2 h of exposure also the protein complement shows treatment-related changes which are indicative for reactive oxygen species being involved in the perception of/response to changes in the gravitational field. In the present study we have extended these investigations for a period of up to 16 h of exposure. We report on changes in abundance of 28 proteins which have been identified by nano HPLC-ESI-MS/MS, and which were altered in amount after 2 h of treatment. According to changes between 2 and 16 h we could distinguish four groups of proteins which either declined, increased from down-regulated to control levels, showed a transient decline or a transient increase. With regard to function, our data indicate stress relief or adaptation to a new gravitational steady state under prolonged exposure. The latter assumption is supported by the appearance of a new set of 19 proteins which is changed in abundance after 8 h of hypergravity. A comparative analysis of the different treatments showed some similarities in response between 8×g centrifugation and 2D clinorotation, while random positioning showed the least responses.  相似文献

Hierarchically structured poly(alkyl‐p‐xylylene) (alkyl‐PPX) nonwovens are prepared by specific parameter variation during the electrospinning process. The investigated parameters are changes in solutions properties and ambient humidity level, which lead to the formation of different fiber architectures and surface morphologies. The characterization of the nonwovens by scanning electron microscopy confirms the formation of hierarchically structured fibers, comprising bead‐on‐string architecture if spun from tetra­hydrofuran (THF) solutions, and porous surfaces at relative humidity (RH) levels > 30% for both chloroform and THF solutions. The wetting properties of nonwovens spun from THF and chloroform solutions are analyzed by water contact angle (CA) measurements, roll‐angle determination, and high speed imaging. PPX‐heptyl and PPX‐butyl fiber mats spun from 2.5 wt% THF and PPX‐heptyl spun from 3 wt% chloroform solutions at RH > 75% show superhydrophobic and self‐cleaning properties with CA > 153° and roll‐off angles of 10–15°. The nonwovens maintain their fiber morphology and water‐repellent properties after thermal and mechanical stress.

Sepsis is the most common cause of death in intensive care units and associated with widespread activation of host innate immunity responses. Ribonucleases (RNases) are important components of the innate immune system, however the role of RNases in sepsis has not been investigated. We evaluated serum levels of RNase 1, 3 and 7 in 20 surgical sepsis patients (Sepsis), nine surgical patients (Surgery) and 10 healthy controls (Healthy). RNase 1 and 3 were elevated in Sepsis compared to Surgery (2.2- and 3.1-fold, respectively; both p < 0.0001) or compared to Healthy (3.0- and 15.5-fold, respectively; both p < 0.0001). RNase 1 showed a high predictive value for the development of more than two organ failures (AUC 0.82, p = 0.01). Patients with renal dysfunction revealed higher RNase 1 levels than without renal dysfunction (p = 0.03). RNase 1 and 3 were higher in respiratory failure than without respiratory failure (p < 0.0001 and p = 0.02, respectively). RNase 7 was not detected in Healthy patients and only in two patients of Surgery, however RNase 7 was detected in 10 of 20 Sepsis patients. RNase 7 was higher in renal or metabolic failure than without failure (p = 0.04 and p = 0.02, respectively). In conclusion, RNase 1, 3 and 7 are secreted into serum under conditions with tissue injury, such as major surgery or sepsis. Thus, RNases might serve as laboratory parameters to diagnose and monitor organ failure in sepsis.  相似文献
