This paper presents a new solution to the expert system for reliable heartbeat recognition. The recognition system uses the support vector machine (SVM) working in the classification mode. Two different preprocessing methods for generation of features are applied. One method involves the higher order statistics (HOS) while the second the Hermite characterization of QRS complex of the registered electrocardiogram (ECG) waveform. Combining the SVM network with these preprocessing methods yields two neural classifiers, which have been combined into one final expert system. The combination of classifiers utilizes the least mean square method to optimize the weights of the weighted voting integrating scheme. The results of the performed numerical experiments for the recognition of 13 heart rhythm types on the basis of ECG waveforms confirmed the reliability and advantage of the proposed approach.  相似文献

This article presents a theoretical and experimental study of the design of a miniaturized wideband dielectric-filled waveguide (DFW) antenna. The operational frequency is X band, i.e., 9.0⩽f⩽10.5 GHz. The desired bandwidth is 1.5 GHz. The antenna uses an air-gap matching network to reduce its high aperture reflection. In order to ease the integration with antenna circuits and to increase the bandwidth, two E-plane steps are used. The antenna is designed to have -3 dB beamwidths of 60° and 100° for the E- and H-plane patterns, respectively. An input reflection of less than -10 dB for the desired bandwidth is observed. The gain of the antenna is 7 dBi. A cross-polar level of less than -25 dB is achieved. Compound document images contain graphic or textual content along with pictures. They are a very common form of documents, found in magazines, brochures, Web sites, etc. We focus our attention on the mixed raster content (MRC) multilayer approach for compound image compression. We study block thresholding as a means to segment an image for MRC. An attempt is made to optimize the block threshold in a rate-distortion sense. Also, a fast algorithm is presented to approximate the optimized method. Extensive results are presented including rate-distortion curves, segmentation masks and reconstructed images, showing the performance of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper, an architecture for real-time digital HDTV video decoding is presented. Our architecture is based on a dual decoding datapath controlled in a fixed schedule with an efficient write-back scheme for anchor pictures. The decoding datapath is synchronized at the block (8 × 8 pixels) level. Unlike other decoding approaches such as the slice bar decoding method and the cross-divide method, our scheme reduces memory access contention problem to achieve real-time HDTV decoding without a high cost in overall decoder buffers, architecture, and bus. In comparison to data-flow approaches, our method eliminates the complexity associated with tagged data operations. Our anchor picture storage is organized to minimize page-breaks during memory accesses. Simulation shows that with a relatively low rate 81 MHz clock, our decoder can decode MPEG-2 MP@HL HDTV in real-time, based on an ATSC video format of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels/frame at 30 frames/s, at a bit rate of 18 to 20 Mbps.  相似文献

A new /spl lambda//4 bias line combined by a dumb-bell shaped defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed to suppress harmonics in power amplifiers. The proposed DGS bias line maintains the required high impedance even after DGS is inserted, while the width and length of the /spl lambda//4 bias line are broader and shorter than those of conventional bias lines. When the DGS bias line is used in power amplifiers, the third harmonic components as well as the second harmonic are reduced, because of the increased slow-wave effect over wide harmonic band. It is shown that the reduction of the third harmonic component, the improvement of 1 dB compression point, and power added efficiency are 26.5 dB, 0.45 dB, and 9.1%, respectively.  相似文献

We demonstrate a kink and beam steering free operation of 0.98-μm GaInAs-GaInP high-power ridge waveguide (RW) lasers utilizing channel ion implantation. The ion-implanted regions along the both sides of the ridge effectively suppressed the excitation of higher order lateral modes, which causes beam steering and kink. The maximum power without beam steering and kink has been achieved over 250 mW for channel ion-implanted RW lasers with 1.8-3.7-μm ridge width, compared to 120-mW maximum power without the channel ion implantation  相似文献

A novel simplified fabrication method of a very high density p-channel trench gate power MOSFET using four mask layers and nitride/TEOS sidewall spacers is realized. The proposed process showed improved on-resistance characteristics of the device with increasing cell density and the cost-effective production capability due to the lesser number of processing steps. By using this process technique, a remarkably increased high density (100 Mcell/inch2) trench gate power MOSFET with a cell pitch of 2.5 μm could be effectively realized. In this paper, we analyze the performance of cognitive amplify‐and‐forward (AF) relay networks with beamforming under the peak interference power constraint of the primary user (PU). We focus on the scenario that beamforming is applied at the multi‐antenna secondary transmitter and receiver. Also, the secondary relay network operates in channel state information‐assisted AF mode, and the signals undergo independent Nakagami‐m fading. In particular, closed‐form expressions for the outage probability and symbol error rate (SER) of the considered network over Nakagami‐m fading are presented. More importantly, asymptotic closed‐form expressions for the outage probability and SER are derived. These tractable closed‐form expressions for the network performance readily enable us to evaluate and examine the impact of network parameters on the system performance. Specifically, the impact of the number of antennas, the fading severity parameters, the channel mean powers, and the peak interference power is addressed. The asymptotic analysis manifests that the peak interference power constraint imposed on the secondary relay network has no effect on the diversity gain. However, the coding gain is affected by the fading parameters of the links from the primary receiver to the secondary relay network. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We have systematically studied the well number dependence of the linewidth enhancement factor in strained quantum-well (QW) lasers and have demonstrated experimentally that the linewidth enhancement factor can be reduced from /spl sim/9.4 to /spl sim/2.0 by increasing the number of compressively strained QW's from 2 to 8. This behavior is primarily due to an increase in the differential gain with the number of QW's.  相似文献
