Energy minimization studies were carried out for a number of Cu clusters using binary and Gray-coded genetic algorithms along with real coded differential evolution, and their optimized ground state geometries are presented. The potential energy function is constructed using a two-body interaction methodology, involving both attractive and repulsive pair-potential terms. The results obtained through the evolutionary algorithms are compared against those obtained earlier using a Monte Carlo technique.  相似文献

The impacts of impregnation and bleaching on the varnish layer hardness of Oriental beech (Fagus orientalist L.) wood were investigated. A number of bleaching combinations {[NaOH−H2O2], [NaOH−Ca(OH)2−H2O2], [NaOH−MgSO4−H2O2] [NaHSO3−H2C2O4], [NaSiO3−H2O2], [KMnO4+NaHSO3+H2O3]} were applied at 18% concentration for bleaching to both impregnated and unimpregnated specimens of Oriental beech wood. Subsequently, water-based (WB) varnish was coated over the samples and the varnish layer hardness values were determined in accordance with ASTM D 4366-95. All of the chemicals used for bleaching reduced the surface hardness. However, after varnish coating, the hardness of most samples was similar to that of the varnish-coated natural (control) samples.  相似文献

Aquatic vegetation forms an essential component in freshwater ecosystems but due to changed environmental and anthropogenic conditions often needs management to reduce nuisance for human land‐use. In this paper, the authors looked at the regrowth of two macrophyte species (Potamogeton natans and Sparganium erectum) in two lowland rivers under different cutting treatments. After an initial cross‐sectional transect was manually removed from bank to bank at the beginning of the growth season, a monthly repetitive removal of biomass in plots on that transect was done during the rest of the growth season (testing frequency of mowing). Additional new transects were also cut in subsequent months (testing timing of mowing). Finally, biomass was repetitively removed in plots in those additional transects too (testing frequency of mowing × timing of mowing). The biomass at the end of the growth season was analysed for C, N, P, and Si. It was demonstrated that timing and frequency of vegetation cutting has an important effect on the capacity and rate of species' recovery and therefore on the efficiency of the applied management. Nutrient stoichiometry of the regrown biomass was directly affected by cutting. Caused by differences in the applied timing and frequency of the cutting, C/N and N/P ratios and BSi concentrations were highly variable. Yet, overall, there was a clear tendency towards a higher C/N ratio and BSi concentration and lower N/P ratio in biomass that recovered after cutting. This human impact on the quantity and quality of autochthonous organic matter may have knock‐on effects on the decomposers food web and mineralization process.  相似文献

This study aims to determine whether indirect touch device can be used to interact with graphical objects displayed on another screen in an air traffic control (ATC) context. The introduction of such a device likely requires an adaptation of the sensory-motor system. The operator has to simultaneously perform movements on the horizontal plane while assessing them on the vertical plane. Thirty-six right-handed participants performed movement training with either constant or variable practice and with or without visual feedback of the displacement of their actions. Participants then performed a test phase without visual feedback. Performance improved in both practice conditions, but accuracy was higher with visual feedback. During the test phase, movement time was longer for those who had practiced with feedback, suggesting an element of dependency. However, this ‘cost’ of feedback did not extend to movement accuracy. Finally, participants who had received variable training performed better in the test phase, but accuracy was still unsatisfactory. We conclude that continuous visual feedback on the stylus position is necessary if tablets are to be introduced in ATC.  相似文献

Set point tracking control of autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) via robust model predictive control (RMPC) is considered. Input-constrained RMPC with integral action, which has been developed in our previous work, is used to control the AUV in this study. In order to derive a RMPC control rule, non-linear dynamics of AUV with six degree of freedom is linearized at certain operating points. So, horizontal and vertical plane dynamics of system are represented by linear models which have polytopic uncertainties. Since the derived control rule will be used in real time, the computation time should be reduced. To overcome this computational time problem and get rid of trial–error step of Algorithm 1, a new algorithm is proposed here. The simulations are carried out using the control rule based on this algorithm and these results are presented.  相似文献

Tomographic reconstruction of a binary image from few projections is considered. A novel heuristic algorithm is proposed, the central element of which is a nonlinear transformation ψ(p)=log(p/(1?p)) of the probability p that a pixel of the sought image be 1-valued. It consists of backprojections based on ψ(p) and iterative corrections. Application of this algorithm to a series of artificial test cases leads to exact binary reconstructions, (i.e., recovery of the binary image for each single pixel) from the knowledge of projection data over a few directions. Images up to 106 pixels are reconstructed in a few seconds. A series of test cases is performed for comparison with previous methods, showing a better efficiency and reduced computation times.  相似文献

For photon emission tomography, the maximum likelihood (ML) estimator for image reconstruction is generally solution to a nonlinear equation involving the vector of measured data. No explicit closed-form solution is known in general for such a nonlinear ML equation, and numerical resolution is usually implemented, with a very popular iterative method formed by the expectation-maximization algorithm. The numerical character of such resolutions usually makes it difficult to obtain a general characterization of the performance of the ML solution. We show that the nonlinear ML equation can be replaced by an equivalent system of two dual linear equations nonlinearly coupled. This formulation allows us to exhibit explicit (to some extent) forms for the solutions to the ML equation, in general conditions corresponding to the various possible configurations of the imaging system, and to characterize their performance with expressions for the mean-squared error, bias and Cramér-Rao bound. The approach especially applies to characterize the ML solutions obtained numerically, and offers a theoretical framework to contribute to better appreciation of the capabilities of ML reconstruction in photon emission tomography.  相似文献

Platinum nanoparticles (n-Pt), over-grafted with 2-thiophenecarbonyl chloride are assembled on gold electrodes, by the Langmuir Blodgett (LB) technique using behenic acid (BHA) as promoting agent. These layers are electrochemically active without any preliminary activation. The [Fe(CN)6]3−/4− redox couple was used as electrochemical probe. This paper reports on the influence of the number of deposited LB layers, and the n-Pt density on the electrochemical response. n-Pt density was modified by the change of the “BHA/n-Pt” ratio. Cyclic voltammograms of “[Fe(CN)6]3−/4−” were observed whatever the coating conditions. As soon as the first layer was deposited the electrochemical response was associated to the n-Pt coverage, its response slightly increased up to a steady state for five or seven layers. As expected, the increase of the Pt density favored the increase of the current density. XPS analysis performed before and after electrochemical cycling showed that 4-mercaptoaniline capped platinum nanoparticles, and their over grafting were chemically and electrochemically stable. Analysis of influence of the number or the n-Pt density of the layers showed that the electrochemically active part of LB electrodes was provided by the last layer plus a part of the underlying one.  相似文献

Throughout the VEGETATION programme, the Flemish Institute for Technological Research (VITO) uninterruptedly hosted the prime user segment of both VEGETATION 1 and VEGETATION 2 multispectral instruments on board the Satellite Pour l’Observation de la Terre 4 (SPOT 4) and SPOT 5 satellites. Operational since the launch of SPOT 4 in March 1998, and foreseen to continue at least until the end of the SPOT 5 mission (anticipated in spring 2014), this user segment comprises a processing facility (PF), actively receiving, processing, correcting, archiving, and distributing the VEGETATION data and derived added-value products. First and foremost, the VEGETATION programme has been serving the needs of operational users – both institutional and commercial – requesting data in near-real time. However, scientific and educational users too benefited significantly, in particular from VEGETATION’s unique time series of the Earth’s land cover, and more specifically the vegetation cover. Over the years, the centralized archive houses processed data covering the equivalent of 11,000 times the Earth’s surface, and delivered more than 50 terapixels to around 10.000 users. As such, VEGETATION’s mission is a prime example of what Europe wants to achieve through the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) initiative: truly operational services providing reliable and up-to-date information.

This article describes the processing facility, the way the data and products are archived, the different dissemination channels as well as the data policy adopted and the users served. One of the recent evolutions, the development of an entirely new product distribution facility (PDF), implemented as part of the Project for On-Board Autonomy – Vegetation (PROBA-V) user segment is discussed.  相似文献

With the advent of wearable sensing and mobile technologies, biosignals have seen an increasingly growing number of application areas, leading to the collection of large volumes of data. One of the difficulties in dealing with these data sets, and in the development of automated machine learning systems which use them as input, is the lack of reliable ground truth information. In this paper we present a new web-based platform for visualization, retrieval and annotation of biosignals by non-technical users, aimed at improving the process of ground truth collection for biomedical applications. Moreover, a novel extendable and scalable data representation model and persistency framework is presented. The results of the experimental evaluation with possible users has further confirmed the potential of the presented framework.  相似文献
