Yogurts made with 80% milk retentate (MR) [Volume Reduction Factor (VRF) = 1.5] and 20% cheese whey retentate (WR; VRF = 8.0) (yogurt 1) and yogurts made with 100% MR through ultrafiltration have been evaluated as to flow, texture profile analysis (TPA) and syneresis index. As with MR and WR, their physico‐chemical composition was also determined. The yogurt to which WR had been added showed; less apparent viscosity and greater tixotrophya; less firmness and adhesiveness and greater cohesiveness; higher syneresis index, less protein and mineral content, and greater lipid content in comparison with the yogurt made only with MR.  相似文献

The surface properties of biomaterials, such as wettability, polar group distribution, and topography, play important roles in the behavior of cell adhesion and proliferation. Gaseous plasma discharges are among the most common means to modify the surface of a polymer without affecting its properties. Herein, we describe the surface modification of poly(styrene) (PS) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) films using atmospheric pressure plasma processing through exposure to a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). After treatment the film surface showed significant changes from hydrophobic to hydrophilic as the water contact angle decreasing from 95° to 37°. All plasma-treated films developed more hydrophilic surfaces compared to untreated films, although the reasons for the change in the surface properties of PS and PMMA differed, that is, the PS showed chemical changes and in the case of PMMA they were topographical. Excellent adhesion and cell proliferation were observed in all films. In vitro studies employing flow cytometry showed that the proliferation of L929 cells was higher in the film formed by a 1:1 mixture of PS/PMMA, which is consistent with the results of a previous study. These findings suggest better adhesion of L929 onto the 1:1 PS/PMMA modified film, indicating that this system is a new candidate biomaterial for tissue engineering.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was the development and characterization of wheat gluten microspheres for use as controlled release devices, and the evaluation of the effect of the addition of poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG). Diltiazem hydrochloride was used as the model drug in the in vitro release essay. The physical–chemical and morphological properties of the microspheres were evaluated, as well as their encapsulation efficiency. Porosity varied with the presence or absence of PEG. The diltiazem encapsulation efficiency was 72.8% and 96.7% for wheat gluten and gluten/PEG 95/05 microspheres, respectively. The DSC and FTIR results indicated interactions between the microparticles and additives used. In the in vitro release tests it was observed that, for all the studied systems, the burst effect occurred in the first 2 h of release and the microspheres prepared with PEG had a faster release rate. In the attempt to elucidate the release mechanism, the systems were treated based on two well known mathematical models: the Higuchi and the power law. It was found that the microsphere release mechanism is not exclusively diffusion-controlled and, probably, the release occurs through a combination of partial diffusion through the swelling matrix and hydrophilic pores.  相似文献

We report the electrochemical oxidation of rutin in acetonitrile-sodium phosphate (4:1 (v/v); pH 2.0) in the presence of p-toluenesulfinic acid. Cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential electrolysis were used to study rutin electro-oxidation and to prepare the sulfone derivatives. Chromatographic methods were employed to separate the products and IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS and microanalysis to their characterization. Data from cyclic voltammetry allow the identification of three rutin oxidation processes in the presence of p-toluenesulfinic acid (E pI = 0.56 V, E pII = 0.81 V and E pIII = 1.32 V). Only the electrode process around peak I was exhaustively studied. The first oxidation step leads to the formation of the corresponding o-quinone, which participates in a Michael addition reaction with the p-toluenesulfinic acid, forming the 6′(4-methylphenylsulfonyl)rutin and 6′(4-methylphenylsulfonyl)quercetin as majority products.  相似文献

For the last 20 years, countless countries have been carrying out structural reforms in the natural gas industry, trying to achieve efficiency and economic rationality with the introduction of competition. The objective of the paper is to present an approach to the development of competition and infrastructure of the Brazilian natural gas industry. This approach is based on a market projection to 2011, on the international experience and on the characteristics of the Brazilian market, infrastructure and regulatory framework. Possible impacts of the proposed measures are also provided. According to the market projection carried out in this paper, in 2011 there will be a possible surplus of natural gas in the country, which includes a dependence diminishing of the Bolivian gas supply. This gas surplus, allied to an upcoming Gas Law and the trade liberalization in the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, can stimulate the development of competition, if some changes that proposed in this paper are made in the current Gas Bills. The approach proposed herein seeks to stimulate non-discriminatory open access, focused on information transparency and tariff regulation to help the development of infrastructure and competition.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Baru (Dipteryx alata Vog.) is a fruit distributed throughout the Brazilian savanna and contains a seed with a high protein content, whose properties have been rarely explored. The purpose of this study was to characterize this protein, especially by isolation and quantifying its fractions and measuring some of its molecular properties. RESULTS: Baru seeds contain 244 g kg?1 protein on a dry weight basis. Solubility profiles showed a preponderance of globulins. This fraction dominated the seed composition, with 61.7 wt% of the total soluble proteins. Albumins and glutelins accounted for 14 and 3.3 wt%, respectively. SDS‐PAGE resolution of albumin and globulin showed main bands with molecular weights of 84 kDa and 64, 66 and 73 kDa, respectively. The total protein of the flour and the globulin showed values of in vitro digestibility of 85.59% and 90.54%, relative to casein. Total globulin produced only one chromatographic peak, both on Sepharose CL‐6B gel filtration and on DEAE‐cellulose ion‐exchange columns, eluted at a concentration of 0.12 mol L?1 NaCl. CONCLUSION: The baru seed had high protein content with large quantities of storage proteins. The Zika virus protease NS2B-NS3 has a binding site formed with the participation of a H51-D75-S135 triad presenting two forms, active and inactive. Studies suggest that the inactive conformation is a good target for the design of inhibitors. In this paper, we evaluated the co-crystallized structures of the protease with the inhibitors benzoic acid (5YOD) and benzimidazole-1-ylmethanol (5H4I). We applied a protocol consisting of two steps: first, classical molecular mechanics energy minimization followed by classical molecular dynamics were performed, obtaining stabilized molecular geometries; second, the optimized/relaxed geometries were used in quantum biochemistry and molecular mechanics/Poisson–Boltzmann surface area (MM-PBSA) calculations to estimate the ligand interactions with each amino acid residue of the binding pocket. We show that the quantum-level results identified essential residues for the stabilization of the 5YOD and 5H4I complexes after classical energy minimization, matching previously published experimental data. The same success, however, was not observed for the MM-PBSA simulations. The application of quantum biochemistry methods seems to be more promising for the design of novel inhibitors acting on NS2B-NS3.  相似文献

The Belgian reactor 1 fuel cladding is made of aluminium. If disposed of in a geological disposal repository, aluminium could come into contact with ordinary Portland cement and is going to corrode to form hydrogen gas and aluminium hydroxide. In this study, the long-term corrosion was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy on metal embedded in cement paste immersed in saturated calcium hydroxide solution under anaerobic conditions. Mass transfer effects were investigated by embedding aluminium in cement paste with two different porosities. LiNO3 was also added to the systems to study its corrosion inhibiting effect. After high initial values, the corrosion rate rapidly declined to reach a steady state after a few days. After ~100 days, the corrosion rate was the lowest when cement paste possessing a low porosity with the addition of LiNO3 was used and the highest when cement paste with high porosity without LiNO3 was used. Finally, scanning electron microscopy–energy X-ray dispersive spectroscopy revealed that the corrosion product layer was thicker than expected by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements, while it is only composed of aluminium and oxygen. Aluminium was found to diffuse into the cement paste close to this corrosion product layer.  相似文献
