Target-in-the-loop (TIL) wave propagation geometry represents perhaps the most challenging case for adaptive optics applications that are related to maximization of irradiance power density on extended remotely located surfaces in the presence of dynamically changing refractive-index inhomogeneities in the propagation medium. We introduce a TIL propagation model that uses a combination of the parabolic equation describing coherent outgoing-wave propagation, and the equation describing evolution of the mutual correlation function (MCF) for the backscattered wave (return wave). The resulting evolution equation for the MCF is further simplified by use of the smooth-refractive-index approximation. This approximation permits derivation of the transport equation for the return-wave brightness function, analyzed here by the method of characteristics (brightness function trajectories). The equations for the brightness function trajectories (ray equations) can be efficiently integrated numerically. We also consider wave-front sensors that perform sensing of speckle-averaged characteristics of the wave-front phase (TIL sensors). Analysis of the wave-front phase reconstructed from Shack-Hartmann TIL sensor measurements shows that an extended target introduces a phase modulation (target-induced phase) that cannot be easily separated from the atmospheric-turbulence-related phase aberrations. We also show that wave-front sensing results depend on the extended target shape, surface roughness, and outgoing-beam intensity distribution on the target surface. For targets with smooth surfaces and nonflat shapes, the target-induced phase can contain aberrations. The presence of target-induced aberrations in the conjugated phase may result in a deterioration of adaptive system performance.  相似文献

Quantified Boolean formulae (QBF) allow compact encoding of many decision problems. Their importance motivated the development of fast QBF solvers. Certifying the results of a QBF solver not only ensures correctness, but also enables certain synthesis and verification tasks. To date the certificate of a true formula can be in the form of either a syntactic cube-resolution proof or a semantic Skolem-function model whereas that of a false formula is only in the form of a syntactic clause-resolution proof. The semantic certificate for a false QBF is missing, and the syntactic and semantic certificates are somewhat unrelated. This paper identifies the missing Herbrand-function countermodel for false QBF, and strengthens the connection between syntactic and semantic certificates by showing that, given a true QBF, its Skolem-function model is derivable from its cube-resolution proof of satisfiability as well as from its clause-resolution proof of unsatisfiability under formula negation. Consequently Skolem-function derivation can be decoupled from special Skolemization-based solvers and computed from standard search-based ones. Experimental results show strong benefits of the new method.  相似文献

We develop a coarse-grained model to investigate the influence of nanoscale particles on the phase separation and the morphology of symmetric AB diblock copolymer melts. The microphase separation is modeled by the cell dynamical systems (CDS) equations, while the particle dynamics is described by a Langevin equation. We assume that the particles have a selective affinity to the A block and thus, can self-assemble and form clusters within A-domains. By varying the particle volume fraction, φp, we study the coupling between the microphase separation of the diblocks and the cluster formation for the particles. We also estimate the percolation threshold, φ, for the particles and find that the presence of diblocks decreases φ by a factor slightly greater than two relative to the case of particles in a homopolymer (φ∗≈9% in a diblock vs. 22% in a homopolymer). This result can be useful in designing new composites with increased electrical conductivity and/or mechanical strength.  相似文献

Obtained specimens were investigated with X-ray powder diffraction, infrared and impedance spectroscopy. Compositions of fields of homogeneity with NASICON-like structure were discovered. This paper presents an application of formal methods for validation of flexible manufacturing systems controlled by distributed controllers. A software tool verification environment for distributed applications (VEDA) is developed for modeling and verification of distributed control systems. The tool provides an integrated environment for formal, model-based verification of the execution control of function blocks following the new international standard IEC61499. The modeling is performed in a closed-loop way using manually developed models of plants and automatically generated models of controllers.  相似文献

The problem of adaptive laser beam projection onto an extended object (target) having a randomly rough surface in an optically inhomogeneous medium (atmosphere) is analyzed. Outgoing beam precompensation is considered through conjugation of either the target-return wave phase or the complex field. It is shown that in the presence of "frozen" turbulence, both phase-conjugate (PC) and field-conjugate (FC) precompensation can result in a superfocusing effect, which suggests the possibility of achieving a brighter target hit spot in volume turbulence than in vacuum. This superfocusing effect is significantly more distinct for FC precompensation. In the quasi-stationary case (slowly moving turbulence or target), PC and FC beam control lead to enhanced intensity fluctuations at the target surface associated with intermittent formation and disintegration of bright target hit spots that sporadically attach to the extended target surface. This intensity fluctuation level exceeds intensity fluctuations in the absence of beam control and is higher for FC precompensation. In the nonstationary case, both PC and FC lead to an increase of beam width and centroid wander at the extended target surface compared with conventional projection of a collimated or focused beam.  相似文献

Causal coherence and generalized synchronization (GS) index were extracted from beat-to-beat mean intracranial pressure (ICP) and intervals between consecutive normal sinus heart beats (RR interval) that were recorded from 12 patients undergoing normal pressure hydrocephalus diagnosis. Data were organized into two groups including an ICP B-Wave group and a baseline control group. Maximal classic coherence (CC) between ICP and RR interval within [0.04, 0.15] Hz was found to be significantly greater than zero for both B-Wave and control groups with B-Wave CC greater than that of the baseline group. Causal coherence analysis further revealed that feedforward coherence due to RR interval's effect on ICP always exists for both B-Wave and baseline ICP state and no significant difference exists between two groups. On the other hand, feedback coherence from ICP to RR interval was enhanced during the occurrence of B-Wave. This finding regarding the enhanced directional, from ICP to RR interval, coupling between ICP and RR interval was also confirmed by a modified GS measure.  相似文献

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative joint disease treated mostly symptomatically before approaching its definitive treatment, joint arthroplasty. The rapidly growing prevalence of OA highlights the urgent need for a more efficient treatment strategy and boosts research into the mechanisms of OA incidence and progression. As a multifactorial disease, many aspects have been investigated as contributors to OA onset and progression. Differences in gender appear to play a role in the natural history of the disease, since female sex is known to increase the susceptibility to its development. The aim of the present review is to investigate the cues associated with gender by analyzing various hormonal, anatomical, molecular, and biomechanical parameters, as well as their differences between sexes. Our findings reveal the possible implications of gender in OA onset and progression and provide evidence for gaps in the current state of art, thus suggesting future research directions.  相似文献

Methane and carbon dioxide hydrates are one of the possible forms in which these gases exist in natural coal (for more detailed discussion see Refs [1,2]). In this work, the decomposition of carbon dioxide hydrate in five samples of natural coal differing from each other in metamorphism degree was investigated experimentally. Carbon dioxide hydrate dispersed in coals was synthesized from water adsorbed in these coals. During a linear temperature rise in an autoclave with the coal + hydrate sample the hydrate decomposition manifests itself as a step of increase in gas pressure, accompanied by a decrease/stabilization of the temperature of coal sample. The dependencies of the amount of hydrate formed on initial coal humidity and on gas pressure during hydrate formation were studied. It was demonstrated that each coal sample is characterized by its own humidity threshold below which hydrate formation in natural coal is impossible. With an increase in gas pressure, the amount of water transformed into hydrate increases. For the studied coal samples, the decomposition of carbon dioxide hydrates proceeds within a definite temperature and pressure range, and this range is close to the curve of phase equilibrium for bulk hydrate.  相似文献

Copolymers of polyguanidines with various lengths of hydrocarbon radicals were obtained by polycondensation. The biocidal action of water‐soluble, guanidine‐containing copolymers on the pathogenic microorganisms Escherichia coli and Bacillus cereus by the method of agar diffusion was evaluated. The results indicate that the ratio of hydrophobic methylene groups to ionogen guanidine groups influenced the copolymer biocidal action. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym.
