An ion beam facility is described which can produce intense beams of very highly charged ions with variable energy in the keV and MeV regime. This facility consists of an electron cyclotron resonance ion source (ECR) and a radiofrequency quadrupole accelerating structure (RFQ). It provides a relatively cheap and compact device for material research with highly charged ions at surfaces as well as for deep-lying solid layers.  相似文献

The major loss mechanism of photogenerated polarons was investigated in P3HT:PCBM solar cells by the photo-CELIV technique. For pristine and annealed devices, we find that the experimental data can be explained by a bimolecular recombination rate reduced by a factor of about 10 (pristine) and 25 (annealed) as compared to Langevin theory. Aided by a macroscopic device model, we discuss the implications of the lowered loss rate on the characteristics of polymer:fullerene solar cells.  相似文献

The impact of cosmic neutron induced 10B fission in production submicron SRAM devices is reported for the first time. Using a cold neutron beam to accelerate soft error rate events, we unambiguously demonstrate that neutron induced 10B fission can be a significant source of soft errors in deep-submicron SRAMs fabricated with borophosphosilicate glass.  相似文献

An electric spalling furnace, heated by means of a graphite resistor and holding twelve test brick at a time, is part of the equipment for the routine testing of refractories in the Research Laboratory of The Carborundum Company at Niagara Falls, N. The feline kidney cell line CrFK is used extensively for viral infectivity assays and for study of the biology of various retroviruses and derived vectors. We report a case of cavernous sinus thrombosis in an 8-year-old boy, following a neglected and untreated nasal furuncle. This rare entity is manifested by hyperthermia, with headache, vomiting and involvement of the III-IV & VI cranial nerves. It is usually a complication of a facial infection. The diagnosis is established by CT-Scan or MRI. Without appropriate and early treatment, the prognosis is poor, with a fatal outcome or severe sequelae.  相似文献

Three experiments are reported that examined conceptual negative priming effects in children 5 to 12 years of age. Experiment 1 used a negative priming variant of a flanker task requiring the naming of a central color blob flanked by irrelevant distractors. Experiment 2 used a negative priming variant of the Stroop color-word task. Experiment 3 used a same-different matching task with novel 3-D shapes. Results revealed significant and equivalent magnitudes of negative priming across the tested age groups for all 3 tasks. It is concluded that the inhibitory mechanism underlying conceptual (i.e., identity or semantic) negative priming in visual selective attention tasks is intact in young children. Because the findings and conclusions diverge from the developmental literature on negative priming, the authors attempt to reconcile the contradictions by pinning down the reasons for the discrepancies.
