Directives and policies increasingly call for more integrated management of land and water. Frameworks such as integrated catchment management may address these calls, and yet their implementation requires decisions to be taken under conditions of extreme complexity and uncertainty. This paper summarises a participatory framework through which decision‐makers, experts and system modellers can collaboratively develop an integrated model to support such decisions. A feasibility study showed the potential of the framework. An operational version of the model, able to analyse the effects of 50 management options on 20 indicators, is estimated to require in the order of 225 man‐months from system modellers, alongside substantial inputs from stakeholders. The significant technical challenges confronting such an exercise may be overshadowed by the institutional challenges, including the fundamental question of whether organisations are truly committed. However, the reward for overcoming such challenges is the opportunity to achieve genuine improvements in the social, economic and environmental quality of our catchments.  相似文献

3-D molecular dynamics (MD) analyses of SiC–Si3N4 nanocomposite deformation and SiCO nanocomposite deformation are performed at 300 K, 900 K, and 1500 K. In SiC–Si3N4 nanocomposites, distribution of second phase SiC particles, volume fraction of atoms in GBs, and GB thickness play an important role in temperature dependent mechanical behavior. The deformation mechanism is a trade-off between the stress concentration caused by SiC particles and Si3N4–Si3N4 GB sliding. The temperature increase tends to work in favor of GB sliding leading to softening of structures. However, microstructural strength increases with increase in temperature when GBs are absent. In the case of SiCO nanocomposites, findings indicate that temperature change dependent amorphization of nanodomains, the nanodomain wall placement, the nanodomain wall thickness, and nanodomain size are important factors that directly affect the extent of crystallinity and the strength against mechanical deformation.  相似文献

As device dimensions continue to shrink, multilevel (>8) interconnects are required to efficiently implement complex logic device designs in a single silicon chip. When the number of metal interconnect levels increases, the available depth-of-focus budget of lithographic tools imposes stringent planarity requirements that can only be met currently by chemical-mechanical planarization (CMP). Improved speed and performance are extracted from such devices by switching to copper from Al/Cu as the interconnect metal and to lower dielectric constant inner layers. Use of copper also requires the simultaneous introduction of diffusion-barrier/adhesion-promotion layers of tantalum or TaN. This paper reviews some of the recent advances in the fundamental understanding of the interplay between the mechanical and chemical components of the material-removal process during CMP of copper and tantalum films. The emphasis will be on the role of different process variables in slurries containing silica or alumina abrasives in hydrogen peroxide/glycine solutions. For more information, contact S.V. A liquid chromatographic procedure for the analysis of Rifampicin (RIF) and Isoniazid (INH) in pharmaceutical dosage forms utilizing reverse phase chromatography was developed. Isolation of analytes was carried out under isocratic conditions with a octadecylsilane column and an aqueous mobile phase containing Methanol (75%) and 0.02 M Disodium Hydrogen Orthophosphate (25%) with pH 4.5 adjusted with orthophosphoric acid. The detection was done at 254 nm.

The method is unique in analysing Rifampicin precisely in combination with Isoniazid particularly in liquid formulation. The method is specific and can distinctly isolate the degradation product in suspension.  相似文献

Cyclins are essential proteins in cell cycle control, and their deranged expression has been reported to be associated with malignant transformation. Involvement of cyclins in the development of endometrioid carcinomas of the endometrium was studied immunohistochemically using antibodies against both cyclin A and tumor suppressor gene product p53, and their expression was compared with that of Ki-67 antigen. Sixty-two cases of endometrial endometrioid carcinoma and 20 cases of normal endometrium (10 proliferative and 10 secretory phase) were examined. Of the 62 endometrioid carcinomas, atrophic endometrium and hyperplasia were found adjacent to the cancers in 30 and 19 cases respectively. Cyclin A was expressed in < 1% of the glandular cells of normal endometrium in the proliferative phase and in hyperplasia, but was negligible in normal secretory phase and atrophic endometrium. p53 was almost always negative in normal endometrium and hyperplasia. Of the 62 endometrioid carcinomas, 12 tumors (19.4%) overexpressed cyclin A and 21 tumors (33.8%) overexpressed p53 (positive cells > 1%). Cyclin A and p53 were more frequently expressed in poorly differentiated tumors than in well differentiated tumors (cyclin A, p = 0.002; p53, p = 0.016). In addition, cyclin A-positive cells were topographically related to those cells positive for p53 as well as Ki-67. In conclusion, the abnormal expression of cyclin A and p53 is associated with high-grade endometrial endometrioid carcinomas.  相似文献

Exchange of data in the form of text and image on internet is in fast progression and it is spawning new compression and encryption algorithms for bandwidth and security respectively. We have proposed a new kind of joint algorithm using discrete fractional transforms for compression–encryption of image. In this algorithm, the discrete fractional Fourier transform which is discrete version of fractional Fourier transform, is used to compress the images with variation of its parameter ‘α’ (order of transform). The compressed image is encrypted using discrete fractional cosine transform to provide security. The advantage of this method is its feasible implementation in practice, superior, robustness, security and sensitivity of keys, which has a good prospect and practicability in information security field. Results of computer simulations are presented to verify the validity of the proposed method such as mean square error (MSE) and peak signal to noise ratio between the original image and decrypted image. Sensitivity for right decryption key is proved with respect to MSE.  相似文献

We derive the capacity region and optimal power allocation scheme for a slowly fading broadcast channel in which minimum rates must be maintained for each user in all fading states, assuming perfect channel state information at the transmitter and at all receivers. We show that the minimum-rate capacity region can be written in terms of the ergodic capacity region of a broadcast channel with an effective noise determined by the minimum rate requirements. This allows us to characterize the optimal power allocation schemes for minimum-rate capacity in terms of the optimal power allocations schemes that maximize ergodic capacity of the broadcast channel with effective noise.
