This paper is devoted to show the impact of nonwhite chopping on the offset compensation in time-interleaved analog-to-digital converters. We develop a theoretical framework allowing the selection of optimal chopping sequences. We show that, on the one hand, the adoption of these (generally nonwhite) sequences allows to achieve faster offset compensation (thus increasing the signal-to-noise ratio) and, on the other hand, a better spectral shaping (thus increasing the spurious-free dynamic range). As a byproduct of our analysis, we prove that the average offset estimation which is used in many ADC implementations is asymptotically the best available linear estimation of offset that, in turn, is the best estimation when the signal to be converted can be assumed to be a Gaussian process.   相似文献

The parallel beta helix structure found in the pectate lyase superfamily has been analyzed in detail. A comparative analysis of known structures has revealed a unique sequence profile, with a strong positional preference for specific amino acids oriented toward the interior of the parallel beta helix. Using the unique sequence profile, search patterns have been constructed and applied to the sequence databases to identify a subset of proteins that are likely to fold into the parallel beta helix. Of the 19 families identified, 39% are known to be carbohydrate-binding proteins, and 50% belong to a broad category of proteins with sequences containing leucine-rich repeats (LRRs). The most striking result is the sequence match between the search pattern and four contiguous segments of internalin A, a surface protein from the bacterial pathogen Listeria monocytogenes. A plausible model of the repetitive LRR sequences of internalin A has been constructed and favorable 3D-1D profile scores have been calculated. Moreover, spectroscopic features characteristic of the parallel beta helix topology in the pectate lyases are present in the circular dichroic spectrum of internalin A. Altogether, the data support the hypothesis that sequence search patterns can be used to identify proteins, including a subset of LRR proteins, that are likely to fold into the parallel beta helix.  相似文献

A series of heterocyclic compounds containing a spiro-fused pyrrolo[3,4-a]pyrrolizine and tryptanthrin framework have been synthesized and studied as potential antitumor agents. Cytotoxicity of products was screened against human erythroleukemia (K562) and human cervical carcinoma (HeLa) cell lines. Among the screened compounds. 4a, 4b and 5a were active against human erythroleukemia (K562) cell line, while 4a and 5a were active against cervical carcinoma (HeLa) cell line. In agreement with the DNA cytometry studies, the tested compounds have achieved significant cell-cycle perturbation with higher accumulation of cells in G2/M phase and induced apoptosis. Using confocal microscopy, we found that with 4a and 5a treatment of HeLa cells, actin filaments disappeared, and granular actin was distributed diffusely in the cytoplasm in 76–91% of cells. We discovered that HeLa cells after treatment with compounds 4a and 5a significantly reduced the number of cells with filopodium-like membrane protrusions (from 63 % in control cells to 29% after treatment) and a decrease in cell motility.  相似文献

Near-infrared (NIR) Raman microspectroscopy combined with advanced statistics was used to differentiate gunshot residue (GSR) particles originating from different caliber ammunition. The firearm discharge process is analogous to a complex chemical reaction. The reagents of this process are represented by the chemical composition of the ammunition, firearm, and cartridge case. The specific firearm parameters determine the conditions of the reaction and thus the subsequent product, GSR. We found that Raman spectra collected from these products are characteristic for different caliber ammunition. GSR particles from 9 mm and 0.38 caliber ammunition, collected under identical discharge conditions, were used to demonstrate the capability of confocal Raman microspectroscopy for the discrimination and identification of GSR particles. The caliber differentiation algorithm is based on support vector machines (SVM) and partial least squares (PLS) discriminant analyses, validated by a leave-one-out cross-validation method. This study demonstrates for the first time that NIR Raman microspectroscopy has the potential for the reagentless differentiation of GSR based upon forensically relevant parameters, such as caliber size. When fully developed, this method should have a significant impact on the efficiency of crime scene investigations.  相似文献

The pinning of superconducting vortices in type-II superconductors has been studied for a long time due to the wide variety of unusual flux flow phenomena and more importantly, for its relevance in applications, since vortex pinning is one of the essential parameters controlling the enhancement of critical currents. A case of particular interest is the use of artificial magnetic pinning centers, since they can be fabricated to match well the characteristic length scales relevant for superconductivity and their magnetization offers another degree of freedom to influence the pinning properties. This article reviews our work on the role of the size and separation of the magnetic dots. Furthermore, we also show that the magnetic configuration can influence significantly the pinning strength, through the magnetic stray fields penetrating the superconductor, which can be drastically different.  相似文献

Many segmentation algorithms in medical imaging rely on accurate modeling and estimation of tissue intensity probability density functions. Gaussian mixture modeling, currently the most common approach, has several drawbacks, such as reliance on a Gaussian model and iterative local optimization used to estimate the model parameters. It also does not take advantage of substantially larger amount of data provided by 3D acquisitions, which are becoming standard in clinical environment. We propose a novel and completely non-parametric algorithm to estimate the tissue intensity probabilities in 3D images. Instead of relying on traditional framework of iterating between classification and estimation, we pose the problem as an instance of a blind source separation problem, where the unknown distributions are treated as sources and histograms of image subvolumes as mixtures. The new approach performed well on synthetic data and real magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of the brain, robustly capturing intensity distributions of even small image structures and partial volume voxels.  相似文献
