We propose an experimental methodology to determine the secondary Bjerknes force between rigid particles. Measurements done for different particles sizes showed acoustical inter particles interactions. We use and extend the methodology presented in a previous work. The determination of this force will lead us a better understanding of the aggregation process in acoustic resonators. The basic formulation of an acrylic bone cement has been modified by the addition of a block copolymer, Nanostrength® (NS), in order to augment the mechanical properties and particularly the fracture toughness of the bone cement. Two grades of NS at different levels of loading, between 1 and 10 wt.%, have been used. Mechanical tests were conducted to study the behaviour of the modified cements; specific tests measured the bend, compression and fracture toughness properties. The failure mode of the fracture test specimens was analysed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of NS addition on the thermal properties was also determined, and the polymerisation reaction using differential scanning calorimetry. It was observed that the addition of NS produced an improvement in the fracture toughness and ductility of the cement, which could have a positive contribution by reducing the premature fracture of the cement mantle. The residual monomer content was reduced when the NS was added. However this also produced an increase in the maximum temperature and the heat delivered during the polymerisation of the cement. 相似文献

Spina bifida aperta are complex congenital malformations resulting from failure of fusion in the spinal neural tube during embryogenesis. Despite surgical repair of the defect, most patients who survive with spina bifida aperta have a multiple system handicap due to neuron deficiency of the defective spinal cord. Tissue engineering has emerged as a novel treatment for replacement of lost tissue. This study evaluated the prenatal surgical approach of transplanting a chitosan–gelatin scaffold seeded with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in the healing the defective spinal cord of rat fetuses with retinoic acid induced spina bifida aperta. Scaffold characterisation revealed the porous structure, organic and amorphous content. This biomaterial promoted the adhesion, spreading and in vitro viability of the BMSCs. After transplantation of the scaffold combined with BMSCs, the defective region of spinal cord in rat fetuses with spina bifida aperta at E20 decreased obviously under stereomicroscopy, and the skin defect almost closed in many fetuses. The transplanted BMSCs in chitosan–gelatin scaffold survived, grew and expressed markers of neural stem cells and neurons in the defective spinal cord. In addition, the biomaterial presented high biocompatibility and slow biodegradation in vivo. In conclusion, prenatal transplantation of the scaffold combined with BMSCs could treat spinal cord defect in fetuses with spina bifida aperta by the regeneration of neurons and repairmen of defective region. 相似文献

To develop adriamycin (ADM)-encapsulated poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles in a porous nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen scaffold (ADM–PLGA–NHAC). To provide novel strategies for future treatment of osteosarcoma, the properties of the scaffold, including its in vitro extended-release properties, the inhibition effects of ADM–PLGA–NHAC on the osteosarcoma MG63 cells, and its bone repair capacity, were investigated in vivo and in vitro. The PLGA copolymer was utilized as a drug carrier to deliver ADM–PLGA nanoparticles (ADM–PLGA–NP). Porous nano-hydroxyapatite and collagen were used to materials to produce the porous nano-hydroxyapatite/collagen scaffold (NHAC), into which the ADM–PLGA–NP was loaded. The performance of the drug-carrying scaffold was assessed using multiple techniques, including scanning electron microscopy and in vitro extended release. The antineoplastic activities of scaffold extracts on the human osteosarcoma MG63 cell line were evaluated in vitro using the cell counting kit-8 (CCK8) method and live-dead cell staining. The bone repair ability of the scaffold was assessed based on the establishment of a femoral condyle defect model in rabbits. ADM–PLGA–NHAC and NHAC were implanted into the rat muscle bag for immune response experiments. A tumor-bearing nude mice model was created, and the TUNEL and HE staining results were observed under optical microscopy to evaluate the antineoplastic activity and toxic side effects of the scaffold. The composite scaffold demonstrated extraordinary extended-release properties, and its extracts also exhibited significant inhibition of the growth of osteosarcoma MG63 cells. In the bone repair experiment, no significant difference was observed between ADM–PLGA–NHAC and NHAC by itself. In the immune response experiments, ADM–PLGA–NHAC exhibited remarkable biocompatibility. The in vivo antitumor experiment revealed that the implantation of ADM–PLGA–NHAC in the tumor resulted in a improved antineoplastic effect and fewer adverse side effects than direct intraperitoneal injection of ADM. The ADM–PLGA–NHAC developed in this study exhibited excellent extended-release drug properties, bone repairing and antineoplastic efficacy, which make it a promising osteoconductivity material with the capability to inhibit osteosarcoma. 相似文献

One of the major challenges in tissue engineering of small-diameter vascular grafts is to inhibit intimal hyperplasia and keep long-term patency after implantation. Rapid endothelialization of the grafts could be an effective approach. In this study, QK, a peptide mimicking vascular endothelial growth factor, was selected as the bioactive substrate and loaded in electrospun membranes for enhancement of vascular endothelial cell growth. In detail, QK peptide was firstly introduced with poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate into a thiolated chitosan solution that could transfer into hydrogel. Then, suspensions or emulsions of poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(l-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone) (PELCL) containing QK peptide (with or without chitosan hydrogel) were electrospun into fibrous membranes. For comparison, the electrospun PELCL membrane without QK was also fabricated. Results of release behaviors showed that the electrospun membranes, especially that contained chitosan hydrogel prepared by suspension electrospinning, could successfully encapsulate QK peptide and maintain its secondary structure after released. In vitro cell culture studies exhibited that the release of QK peptide could accelerate the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells in the 9 days. It was suggested that the electrospun PELCL membranes loaded with QK peptide might have potential applications in vascular tissue engineering. 相似文献

This paper demonstrates a multi-source energy harvester that is able to utilize simultaneously both piezoelectric and pyroelectric effects in lead magnesium niobate-lead titanate (PMN-PT) single crystal. The paper presents a study of PMN-PT single crystal with a (67:33) composition grown in our laboratory via a vertical gradient freeze method without any flux. The performance of the piezoelectric and pyroelectric energy harvester using unimorph device structure was evaluated via modeling and experiment. The theoretical study was implemented based on a distributed parameter electromechanical model and the modelling procedure was approximated using finite element analysis to predict the electromechanical behavior of the harvester. The maximum power density at a resonance frequency of 50 Hz and optimum resistance of 2 MΩ was 16.7 nW/(g2 cm3) under a 1 g acceleration of vibration. The measured values of electrical output parameters were in good agreement with theoretical and modelling results using MATLAB and COMSOL Multiphysics, respectively. By using the pyroelectric effect along with the piezoelectric effect, the output voltage of the energy harvester was found to be enhanced at the optimum resistance and specific frequency values. It was noticed that the output voltage was increased monotonically with temperature-difference (ΔT) and reaches up to 180 % of its original value under temperature difference of 1.7 °C at a frequency value of 49 Hz. 相似文献

High-Q dielectric materials ilmenite MgTiO3, columbite MgNb2O6 and cubic perovskite Ba3NiTa2O9 with negative temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (τ f ) were selected as candidates for compensating the τ f of hexagonal perovskite Ba8ZnTa6O24. X-ray diffraction data shows that Ba8ZnTa6O24 coexists with Ba3NiTa2O9 but is not compatible with MgTiO3 and MgNb2O6 at high temperature. The τ f for the mixed hexagonal/cubic perovskite Ba8ZnTa6O24–Ba3NiTa2O9 system is tunable via the temperature compensation effect and its quality factor may be improved via annealing the ceramics at high temperature to enhance the cation ordering in the cubic component. Permittivity ε r ~ 22–25, Q×f > 30,000 GHz and tunable τ f within ±10 ppm/°C were achieved in the range of about 50–80 wt% Ba3NiTa2O9 for the hexagonal/cubic perovskite composite Ba8ZnTa6O24–Ba3NiTa2O9 ceramics, which is suitable for the application as dielectric resonators and filters. 相似文献

Films of indium selenide was deposited onto glass and indium tin oxide coated glass substrates in acidic medium using chemical bath deposition at room temperature. Indium sulphate and sodium selenosulphate were used as precursors of In3+ and Se2?, respectively. The structural, surface morphological and optical properties of the deposited films were studied. Diffractograms in structural study revealed the deposited material is In2Se3 films. Controlled bath conditions resulted in the evolution of the In2Se3 microrod-like morphology. Pb(Zn1/3Ni2/3)c(Ni1/3Nb2/3)a(ZrxTiy)bO3 (PZN–PNN–PZT, the ratios of PNN/PZT a/b were 0.88, 1 and 1.136) piezoelectric ceramics were prepared by a traditional solid-state reaction method. The effects of PNN/PZT ratio on phase structure, microstructure and electric properties as well as the relaxation behaviors of PZN–PNN–PZT ceramics were investigated. The XRD patterns showed that all ceramics samples had a pure perovskite phase structure. Meanwhile, it was found that the phase structure undergoes a tetragonal, tetragonal-rhombohedral to rhombohedral transition as ratios of PNN/PZT increased. With the increasing of a/b from 0.88 to 1.136, the dielectric constant and diffusive phase coefficient decreases, it was indicated that relaxation behaviors also decreased. When ceramics with a/b was 1.136, the dielectric relaxation γ reached the minimum and electrical properties were poor. The electric properties of ceramics with a/b was 1.00 have an excellent properties, it was indicated that ceramics reached an optimization at the MPB structure. 相似文献

ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized by liquid-phase pulse laser ablation of a Zn foil target immersed in deionized water. Nanosecond Q-switched Nd:YAG laser pulses of 532 nm were applied to the Zn foil target at a perpendicular and inclined (θ = 45°) angles. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that both cases feature a ZnO nanostructure with a hexagonal wurtzite structure and that the particle size increases with the inclined target angle. Field emission scanning electron microscopy results of a colloidal drop cast on a glass substrate showed the ZnO has a nanorod structure in the case of a perpendicular target angle and an interlaced tattered nanosheet structure in the case of an inclined target angle. Photoluminescence spectra showed emission peaks in the UV, violet, blue, and green spectral regions, which correspond to excitonic and various defects resulting in an enhancement of emissions at inclined target angle. 相似文献
