Fe doping effect on EuTiO3: The magnetic properties and giant magnetocaloric effect

The magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect for EuTi_1-xFe_xO₃ (x = 0.05, 0.1) compounds are investigated. When a part of Ti⁴⁺ions were substituted by Fe ions, the AFM ordering can be significantly changed to be FM. The EuTi_1-xFe_xO₃ (x = 0.05, 0.1) compounds exhibit a PM to FM transition with decreasing temperature and the Curie temperature is 6 K. Under the field changes of 1 T, and RC are valued to be 10.1 J/kg K and 50.2 J/kg for EuTi_0.95Fe_0.05O₃; 9.6 J/kg K and 47.7 J/kg for EuTi_0.9Fe_0.1O₃, without magnetic and thermal hysteresis. RC is almost twice as much as EuTiO₃ (27 J/kg) as substitution of Fe³⁺ ions for Ti⁴⁺ions, which may be attributed to the magnetic transition (AFM to FM). Therefore, the giant and large RC suggest the EuTi_1-xFe_xO₃ compounds are good materials for magnetic refrigerant.

Corner forming of AZ61A magnesium alloy tube within warm hydroforming

The corners with small radii on cross sections are crucial for forming hydroformed components with polygonal sections.In this paper,warm hydroforming experiments of AZ61A magnesium alloy tubes were carried out to study the forming regularity of round corners by using a demonstration part with square sections.Effects of temperature on radius forming,thinning ratio distribution and microstructure were revealed and a component with relative outer corner radius of 3.0 was obtained by warm hydroforming at 240℃.The minimum thickness of the formed square section was located in the transition position between the corner and the straight wall.The thinning ratio of the round corner increased with the increase of forming temperature.Formability of the magnesium tube was improved by raising temperature under the effect of dynamic recrystallization at 240℃.

地月系共线平动点Halo轨道族的运动稳定性研究

地月系共线平动点附近的Halo轨道族,能够提供从L1点至月球再至L2点的广泛空间的多种轨道应用需要,但2个轨道族内轨道的稳定性差异较大。文章引入稳定系数和线性稳定阶数2个指标来判断轨道的稳定性,并用数值模拟分别分析了百米和千米量级的初始轨道误差在数天后所引起的轨道偏差,得出结论：两轨道族内接近平动点的部分轨道稳定性较差,其余部分轨道稳定性相差不大,L1点附近Halo轨道族内轨道较为稳定的是0.85~0.92之间的轨道,L2点较为稳定的是1.02~1.1之间的轨道。

The electrical properties and snow melting of graphite slurry infiltrated steel fiber concrete

The conductivity property of graphite slurry infiltrated steel fiber concrete (GSIFCON) was investigated by the four-probe method. The experimental results show that the electrical resistivity of GSIFCON decreases significantly at a specific concentration of graphite, i e, the percolation concentration. A model was accordingly developed to explain its conductive mechanism, where graphite particles could be served as bridge for conductive network between unconnected fiber chains. For an application, snow melting test of GSIFCON was carried out and a simple heating power analysis was performed. The results reveal that the thermal energy produced by GSIFCON makes snow melting effectively and the electrothermal efficiency can reach approximately 20%.     

Axial bearing capacity of short FRP confined concrete-filled steel tubular columns

The bearing capacity of FRP confined concrete-filled steel tubular (FRP-CFST) columns under axial compression was investigated. This new type of composite column is a concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) confined with fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) wraps. Totally 11 short column specimens were tested to failure under axial compression. The influences of the type and quantity of FRP, the thickness of steel tube and the concrete strength were studied. It was found that the bearing capacity of short FRP-CFST column was much higher than that of comparable CFST column. Furthermore, the formulas for calculating the bearing capacity of the FRP-CFST columns are proposed. The analytical calculated results agree well with the experimental results.
