The crystal structure of an Fe-superoxide dismutase from the hyperthermophile Aquifex pyrophilus at 1.9 A resolution: structural basis for thermostability

The incidence of stress fractures is increasing among competitive and recreational athletes as well as among children and the elderly. By understanding the continuum of bone's response to stress and maintaining an appropriate index of suspicion, the health care provider can diagnose these injuries appropriately. An accurate history and examination is essential and will differentiate stress fractures from other stress reactions. The more common stress fractures are discussed.     

Analysis of adaptive routing schemes in multirate loss networks

As technology evolves, it is now feasible to implement sophisticated adaptive routing schemes on networks which support different kinds of services with heterogeneous bandwidth characteristics. Adaptive routing can increase the network throughput by routing calls to less congested paths. It can also be used to bypass transmission facility failures. In this paper, we analyze and compare two adaptive routing schemes. The first is called theMaximum mean time to blocking (MTB) routing which is based on themean time to blocking measure of a link. This measure captures the traffic rates, bandwidth characteristic and link capacity information and reflects more accurately the congestion status of different paths. The second is theM ² routing, which is a modification of the least loaded routing (LLR). Aggregation of link status information can significantly reduce signalling traffic. We show in this paper that with properly designed aggregation, the aggregatedM ² and MTB routings can have performance that approach that of the non-aggregated schemes. The use of complete sharing and restricted access policies together with trunk reservation control in multirate loss networks are also studied.     

Al,Ga取代Bi：DyIG薄膜的磁和磁光特性的研究

本文报道用热分解法在玻璃衬底上制备了Ａｌ和Ｇａ取代的Ｂｉ：ＤＹＩＧ薄膜，对其磁和磁光特性做了详细研究．Ａｌ和Ｇａ取代的薄膜均可获得好的矩形比和高的矫顽力．对于Ｂｉ１．２Ｄｙ１．８Ｆｅ５－ｘＭＸＯ１２（Ｍ＝Ａ１，ＧＺ）薄膜，Ａ１和Ｇ２的最佳替代成份分别为１．０和Ｇ．７；最佳晶化温度分别为７００ｏ℃和６７５℃．在波长５１０ｎｍ附近，法拉第旋转角可达８°／ｕｍ左右．光学吸收和品质因子的研究结果表明，Ａｌ和Ｇａ取代能够影响光学吸收和品质因子，其中Ｇａ取代对光学吸收和品质因子的影响较大．     

Si_（1－x）Ge_x／Si定向耦合器的研制

在运用ＳｉＧｅ脊形波导单模条件和有效折射率法分析ＳｉＧｅ／Ｓｉ定向耦合器结构参数的基础上，采用分子束外延和各向异性腐蚀技术制备出Ｓｉ１－ｘＧｅｘ／Ｓｉ（ｘ＝０．０５）单模定向耦合器．在波长为１．３μｍ时，平均串音小于－１８．１ｄＢ，输出功率耦合效率达到９８．１％

Air bearing design, optimization, stability analysis andverification for sub-25 nm flying

Three sub-25 nm fly height sliders are presented for near contact recording. The designs are geared towards the goal of achieving 10 Gb/in ² areal density. The optimization procedure presented shows promise for facilitating achievement of this goal. The dynamic simulations show the stability of these designs when disturbed from their steady state conditions

排样问题是一种总体资源分配问题，这里根据矩形件排样的工艺要求，提出了矩形件排样的一种近似算法，将一块板材分成三部分，每部分排一种零件，使得减料方便，提高了劳动生产率。     

港口起重机金属结构裂纹的诊断与维修

起重机金属结构常见的故障有裂纹、变形、严重锈蚀、刚度不够等。其中裂纹是门机最为常见的故障，占金属机构故障的80％以上。虽然金属结构的设计都符合常规设计的强度要求，但往往还是不可避免有裂纹产生。这是因为材料内部总难免在夹渣、气孔，加工的过程中可能有毛刺、划伤，焊接过程中存在未焊透等。在变应力的作用下，存在缺陷的部位或者应力最大部位往往最先出现疲劳裂纹，随着应力循环次数的增加，裂纹缓慢扩展直至达到临界尺寸而破坏。     

A Novel Athermal 40-Channel DWDM Multi/Demultiplexer Based on the Combination of AWGs and Interleaver

An athermal 40-channel dense wavelength-division-multiplexing multi/demultiplexer using a novel combination technology is proposed. It consists of one 1times4 100- to 400-GHz spacing interleaver filter and four sub-arrayed-waveguide gratings (AWGs). The temperature-dependent wavelength shift of the combined device is successfully suppressed to 0.058 nm in the -20degC to 70degC temperature range. Moreover, the combined device's adjacent crosstalk (typically -35 dB) is much better than conventional AWGs (typically -25 dB).
