Morphology development during the crystallization of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) blends was investigated at various crystallization temperatures (TC) by means of time-resolved light scattering measurements and atomic force microscopy (AFM). A coarse spherulite obtained at a high TC of 162 °C was found to be developed with a two-step crystallization process. The ordering in the spherulites (Pr) increased with time at the early stages and then decreased at the later stages. The rate of spherulite growth started to decrease when Pr started to decrease. In contrast, in the compact spherulite obtained at a low TC of 148 °C, Pr decreased monotonously with time while the growth rate was constant. AFM observation revealed that such characteristic crystallization behavior is attributed to the exclusion of PMMA from the crystal growth during the crystallization; i.e., the amount of excluded PMMA becomes larger as the distance from the spherulite center increases and the crystallization temperature rises.  相似文献

A transparent wound dressing sheet was obtained by forming a complex between β-glucan and chitosan (CS). These materials were chosen for their biocompatible, bioabsorbable, and biodegradable properties, and they were expected to promote the therapeutic efficacy of the dressing by increasing the wound healing response. The therapeutic efficacy of the β-glucan–CS complex sheet as a wound dressing was evaluated in wounds created on the dorsal surfaces of mice. β-glucan–CS complex sheets demonstrated therapeutic efficacies comparable or superior to that of Beschitin®W, a commercial wound dressing made from CS. Additionally, the β-glucan–CS complex sheet did not dissolve during the application period, did not adhere to wounds, and was easy to remove. Cumulatively, these results indicate that β-glucan–CS complex sheets are a promising new wound dressing product.  相似文献

In search of an efficient transdermal drug delivery system (TDDS), a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA)-based system with a polyamidoamine dendrimer was examined. Tamsulosin was used as the model drug. The dendrimer was found to act as the weak enhancer. By adding the dendrimer, the dendrimer-containing PHA matrix achieved the clinically required amount of tamsulosin permeating through the skin model. This is also the first report of the application of PHA and dendrimer to the TDDS.  相似文献

Adhesive strength of the plasma-sprayed thermal barrier coating is one of the most important parameters which influence their durability and reliability during service. While many methods exist to measure the adhesive strength, in general, they require cumbersome and time-consuming specimen preparation. Furthermore, considerations of the adhesion strength from the point-of-view of fracture toughness or for that matter, their systematic correlation to both processing variances are limited. Consequently, there is an opportunity to both simplify the measurement procedure and establish correlations among methods and linkages between processing parameters and interfacial fracture toughness. In this paper, we report results on adhesion strength of plasma-sprayed yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) coating on aluminum substrates based on both interfacial indentation test (to measure interfacial fracture toughness) and the modified tensile adhesive test. Carrier gas flow for powder injection into the plasma torch was systematically varied to introduce variances in particle melting with concomitant impact on the measured adhesive strength. The results indicate the correlation between the particle melting index and the measured interfacial fracture toughness.  相似文献

We successfully treated a feline case of cryptococcosis with itraconazole (ITZ) at a lower dosage. The patient was a 2-year-old castrated male Abyssinian cat weighing 4.1 kg and with two masses on the head. Clinical signs were sneezing and nasal discharge. The plasma cryptococcal antigen titer measured by the latex agglutination test was proved to be high (512). The biopsy specimen from the masses disclosed yeast cells which were cultured and identified to be Cryptococcus neoformans. The cat was treated with ITZ 5 mg kg-1 given orally once a day with food. After 4 weeks, treatment of ITZ discontinued, because the cat was clinically normal and the antigen titer was low (128). However, about 7 months later, a subcutaneous nodule was detected on the same area. The nasal discharge appeared again, and the cryptococcal antigen titer was 256. ITZ treatment was continued again at the same dosage for 3 months until the antigen titer was negative (< 8). Four months after discontinuation of ITZ, the cat did not relapse and the antigen titer was in the negative range. No side-effects of ITZ were detected by physical and laboratory examination.  相似文献

A new search method over (x,y,&thetas;), called position-orientation masking is introduced. It is applied to vertices that are allowed to be separated into different bands of acuteness. Position-orientation masking yields exactly one &thetas; value for each (x,y) that it considers to be the location of a possible occurrence of an object. Detailed matching of edge segments is performed at only these candidate (x,y,&thetas;) to determine if objects actually do occur there. Template matching is accelerated dramatically since the candidates comprise only a small fraction of all (x,y,&thetas;). Position-orientation masking eliminates the need for exhaustive search when deriving the candidate (x,y,&thetas;). Search is guided by correlations between template vertices and distance transforms of image vertices. When a poor correlation is encountered at a particular position and orientation, nearby positions at that orientation and nearby orientations at that position are masked out. Electric vehicles (EVs) are inherently suitable for two‐dimensional vehicle motion control. To utilize EV's advantages, body slip angle β and yaw rate γ play an important role. However, as sensors to measure β are very expensive, we need to estimate β from only variables to be measurable. In this paper, an improved estimation method for body slip angle β for EVs is proposed. This method is based on a linear observer using side acceleration ay as well as γ information. We especially considered the design of gain matrix and succeeded in exact and robust estimation. We performed experiments by UOT March II. This experimental vehicle driven by four in‐wheel motors was made for research on advanced control of EVs. Novel system of electro-catalysts was developed for methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) in direct methanol fuel cells. Mixture of platinum tetraammine complex with cobalt quinolyldiamine complex with various mixing ratio was supported on graphite powder, and heat treated at 400-1000 °C in argon atmosphere. Powder thus obtained was put on a graphite disk electrode, and tested for electrochemical MOR in acid media. Although the cobalt complex itself showed almost no catalytic ability for MOR, it enhanced the activity of Pt more than several 10-fold when it was mixed with Pt. MOR performance was best exploited at about equal mixing ratio of platinum and cobalt complexes. Compared with platinum-ruthenium alloy catalysts, the new catalysts exhibited promising catalytic ability. The present investigation revealed good potentiality of organic complex catalysts in combination with metal catalysts for MOR, which opens the way to synthesize and develop a new class of electro-catalysts of low cost through wide range of molecular designing.  相似文献

This paper describes fabrication of Si nanograins through allotropic phase transformation by concurrent application of high pressure and intense straining using high-pressure torsion (HPT). Single-crystalline Si(100) wafers were processed by HPT under a pressure of 24 GPa at room temperature. X-ray diffraction and Raman analysis revealed that the HPT-processed samples were composed of metastable Si-III and Si-XII phases and amorphous phases in addition to the original diamond-cubic Si-I phase. It was found that nanograins formed because the Si-I diamond phase had transformed to high-pressure phases (Si-II, Si-XI, and Si-V) having metallic nature, and it then became easier to generate a high density of dislocations to form grain boundaries. The high-pressure phases were further transformed to the Si-XII and Si-III phases via the Si-II phase upon unloading and they existed as metastable phases at ambient pressure. Subsequent annealing at 873 K gave rise to reverse transformation to Si-I but with nanograin sizes. Although no appreciable photoluminescence (PL) peak was observed from the HPT-processed sample, a broad PL peak centered around 600 nm was detected from the annealed sample due to quantum confinement in the Si-I nanograins.  相似文献
