Diamondlike carbon (DLC) films show high hardness, high electric resistivity, and the self‐lubricant characteristic, and many applications and synthesis methods have been reported. Pulse plasma chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is one of the synthesis methods suitable for DLC films on complicated form work, such as molding and extruding die. Ordinary, microsecond‐order pulse is used in this method. This paper describes the development of the synthesis method using nanosecond‐order pulse plasma CVD for DLC films. To realize this process, a static induction (SI) thyristor with an inductive energy storage (IES) circuit was used. Compared with microsecond, nanosecond‐order pulse plasma CVD method shows the characteristics of high electron temperature and exponential relationship between pulse frequency and growth rate. The characteristics of the thus‐obtained DLC films show two broad peaks of the disordered band at 1360 cm?1 and the graphitic band at 1580 cm?1 by Raman spectroscopy and hardness of 16.0 GPa and elastic modulus of 170 GPa. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new multiple scanning method is developed and applied to detect cosmic heavy nuclei. The plastic track detectors CR-39 exposed to cosmic heavy nuclei are over-etched in 8.0N NaOH for 94 h at 80°C. We found that the etched cones can easily be scanned on the plastic plates without using an optical microscope. The trajectories of heavy nuclei can be reconstructed with the naked eyes by superposing four or more over-etched plates. The charge detection threshold is obtained by this method, and appears to be 10. The charge resolution is estimated to be 1.0 charge units for iron nuclei. By adopting this method, the scanning time is much shortened and CR-39 plastic chamber size can easily be scaled up. The method is very useful for detecting particles with low flux intensity, like for searching magnetic monopoles or for measuring the high energy spectra of cosmic heavy nuclei.  相似文献

Crystal structure, and electrical conducting and magnetic properties of a radical cation salt of EDO-TTFVODS with magnetic FeCl4? ion, (EDO-TTFVODS)2FeCl4 (EDO-TTFVODS = ethylenedioxytetrathiafulvalenoquinone-1,3-diselenolemethide) are reported. In this salt, there are two independent donor molecules formed two different layers A and B, and the counter FeCl4? ions layer is sandwiched between two donor layers A and B along the b-axis. The donor molecules form the one-dimensional columns along the a-axis in both donor layers. This salt shows high conductivity at room temperature (σRT = 25 S cm?1) and a metallic behavior down to ca. 80 K, where a metal–insulator transition however occurs. The magnetic susceptibility obeys a Curie–Weiss law (Curie constant C = 4.42 emu K mol?1 and Weiss temperature Θ = ?1.5 K), without any magnetic ordering down to 1.8 K. This result suggests the weak antiferromagnetic interaction between the d spins of FeCl4? ions.  相似文献

The daily variation in an intensity of kaolin-induced writhing reaction was examined in mice kept under conditions of light; 07:00 - 19:00 and dark; 19:00 - 07:00. The number of writhes was counted for 30 minutes after a single intraperitoneal injection of kaolin at 00:00, 02:00, 04:00, 06:00, 08:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00, 20:00 and 22:00. The number of writhes showed a daily variation with a peak at 18:00 and a trough at 06:00. The intensity of writhing reaction was significantly reduced by pretreatment with the bradykinin B1 (Des-Arg9-[Leu8]-BK) and B2 (icatibant) receptor antagonists. Significant daily variation in this parameter was still observed in the group with the B1 antagonist, but disappeared in the B2 antagonist-treated group. These results suggest that the kaolin-induced writhing reaction shows the daily variation with a peak at the end of the resting period and a trough at the end of the active period. The B2 receptor mediated stimuli appears to be involved in this phenomenon.  相似文献

Both visual and auditory information are important for songbirds, especially in developmental and sexual contexts. To investigate bimodal cognition in songbirds, the authors conducted audiovisual discrimination training in Bengalese finches. The authors used two types of stimulus: an "artificial stimulus," which is a combination of simple figures and sound, and a "biological stimulus," consisting of video images of singing males along with their songs. The authors found that while both sexes predominantly used visual cues in the discrimination tasks, males tended to be more dependent on auditory information for the biological stimulus. Female responses were always dependent on the visual stimulus for both stimulus types. Only males changed their discrimination strategy according to stimulus type. Although males used both visual and auditory cues for the biological stimulus, they responded to the artificial stimulus depending only on visual information, as the females did. Some tetracycline (TC) antibiotics, including TC and anhydrotetracycline, have been found to enhance specific binding of low density lipoprotein (LDL) to both LDL receptor-positive and-negative cells at relatively higher concentrations. When incubated at 37°C, the ability of LDL receptor-negative human fibroblasts to bind 125I-LDL was increased from<2 to 45 ng/mg by 170 μM TC. In normal human fibroblasts and Hep G2 cells, 125I-LDL binding was elevated 1.4- to 2-fold by 113 μM TC. The 125I-LDL binding in the presence of TC was diminished by both heparin and EDTA. The enhancement by TC was not observed when 125I-LDL binding was assayed at 4°C. TC enhanced LDL binding to paraformaldehyde-fixed Hep G2 cells, excluding LDL receptor induction in the mechanism. These results demonstrated that TC enhanced cellular LDL binding through a process not involving functional LDL receptors.  相似文献

The mechanism controlling the fatigue life of a precipitation-hardened Al–Mg–Si alloy (6061-T6) at a high-cycle fatigue (HCF) regime of over 107 cycles was investigated in detail. It was found that over 90% of the total fatigue life was occupied by the growth process of a microstructurally small crack at relatively low stress amplitude. The small crack was often found to be arrested and halted for a long period (more than 106 cycles) before it began to grow again, which resulted in a significantly slow growth process. The small crack was then analyzed not only by the conventional fractography but also by the cross-sectional observation of the crack tip region using a focused ion beam and transmission electron microscopy. These observations, supplemented also by a grain orientation analysis using electron backscattered diffraction, explicitly revealed the following points: (i) the small crack growth observed on the specimen surface is primarily related to facet-type cracking that occurs exclusively at the specimen surface; (ii) the growth direction of the small crack has strong anisotropy (i.e. surface-induced growth); (iii) the facet-type cracking is related to the formation of persistent fine slip bands that accompany no structural change of the matrix. On the basis of these results, the micromechanism of small crack growth and its relation to the concept of fatigue limit at the HCF regime is discussed in detail.  相似文献
