Lubrication performance of finite journal bearings considering effects of couple stresses and surface roughness 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
To inspect the performance characteristics of finite journal-bearing systems, the combined effects of couple stress due to a Newtonian lubricant blended with additives and the presence of roughness on journal-bearing surfaces are studied in this article. Basing on the Stokes theory and Christensen’s stochastic model, the stochastic generalized Reynolds equation is deduced. The film pressure distribution equation is numerically solved by using the conjugate gradient method of iterations. According to the results, the couple stress effects can raise the film pressure of the lubricant fluid, improve the load-carrying capacity and reduce the friction parameter, especially at high eccentricity ratio. The surface roughness effect is dominant in long bearing approximation and the influence of transverse or longitudinal roughness to the journal bearing is in reverse trend. Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS), a therapeutic type of ultrasound, is known to enhance bone fracture repair processes and help some tissues to heal. Here, we investigated the therapeutic potential of LIPUS for the treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in two CKD mouse models. CKD mice were induced using both unilateral renal ischemia/reperfusion injury (IRI) with nephrectomy and adenine administration. The left kidneys of the CKD mice were treated using LIPUS with the parameters of 3 MHz, 100 mW/cm2, and 20 min/day, based on the preliminary experiments. The mice were euthanized 14 days after IRI or 28 days after the end of adenine administration. LIPUS treatment effectively alleviated the decreases in the body weight and albumin/globulin ratio and the increases in the serum renal functional markers, fibroblast growth factor-23, renal pathological changes, and renal fibrosis in the CKD mice. The parameters for epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT), senescence-related signal induction, and the inhibition of α-Klotho and endogenous antioxidant enzyme protein expression in the kidneys of the CKD mice were also significantly alleviated by LIPUS. These results suggest that LIPUS treatment reduces CKD progression through the inhibition of EMT and senescence-related signals. The application of LIPUS may be an alternative non-invasive therapeutic intervention for CKD therapy. 相似文献

Factors affecting the separation of gamma-globulins from porcine plasma using reversed micelles were screened based on a fractional factorial design. The optimal processing conditions for obtaining the maximum yield of gamma-globulins under various constraints of product purity were determined using response surface methodology (RSM) and nonlinear programming. Results showed that the pH and sodium chloride concentration of the aqueous phase, and the concentration of surfactant (bis-(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate sodium salt, AOT) of the organic phase were the most important factors affecting the extraction performance. An eighty-five percent product purity and ninety-seven percent yield were obtained under the extraction conditions of 400 mM NaCl, 350 mM AOT, and pH 7.0. Rice bran was extruded at 130 °C and a screw speed of 140 rpm for 20 s to inactivate lipase and prevent lipid oxidation. Although the extrusion process induced further complex formation between phytic acid and protein as well as between phytic acid and starch, nearly 94% of phytic acid in the extruded rice bran could still be removed by solid/liquid extraction conducted at 25 °C for 30 min using hydrochloric acid at pH 2 as solvent and a solvent/rice bran ratio of 15. After the extract had been neutralised and phytic acid removed, it was added back to the rice bran solid to replenish the nutritional and functional components of the solid. The mixture was then dried in a drum dryer to yield a powdered product. The dephytinised rice bran product contained most of the protein, fat, dietary fibre and B vitamins and more than 50% of the oryzanol originally present in the raw rice bran. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry 相似文献

The chemical reactions at the interface between an anhydride-cured epoxy resin and an aminosilane treated fiber have been investigated using Fourier transform infrared methods (FT-IR). The results indicate that chemical bonds are formed in the interfacial region between the matrix and the coupling agents. Abstract The feasible region plays an important role in optimal power flow (OPF) problems. However, constructing the feasible region of general optimal power flow problems is a challenging task. In this paper, a trajectory-unified (TJU) method is developed to compute the feasible region of general large-scale OPF problems. This is the first attempt, to our knowledge, to develop a numerical method to compute feasible regions of OPF problems. In addition, the projection of the computed feasible region into a desired low-dimensional sub-space is presented. By employing the proposed TJU method, we compute the feasible region of a 9-bus and the IEEE 118-bus OPF problem. It is shown that the feasible region of a power system grows in size from light-loading conditions to medium-loading conditions while it shrinks in size from medium-loading conditions to heavy-loading conditions. This discovery of a geometric property of the feasible solution asserts the observations that OPF problems are generally easy to solve during medium-loading conditions but are generally difficult to solve during heavy-loading conditions. 相似文献

This study proposes a novel artificial immune system (AIS)-based clustering algorithm, which integrates with a K-means (AISK) algorithm for a customer clustering problem. Computational results using Iris, Glass, Wine, and Breast Cancer benchmark datasets indicate that the proposed AIS-based clustering algorithm is more accurate than some particle swarm optimization (PSO)-based clustering algorithms. In addition, the model evaluation results using a daily transaction database provided by a cyberstore also show that the proposed AISK algorithm is superior to PSO-based clustering algorithms. 相似文献

ABSTRACT: The recombinant goat lactoferrin (rGLF) was expressed in the methylotropic yeast Pichia pastoris using pGAPZαC vector, GAP as promoter, and Zeocin as the selective marker. After transformation of the GLF-pGAPZαC into Pichia pastoris X-33 expression host, the GLF-pGAPZαC vector was integrated into the GAP promoter locus of Pichia pastoris X-33 chromosome. The rGLF was expressed and secreted into the broth using α-factor preprosequence. SDS-PAGE and PAS staining analysis indicated that the rGLF could be purified to electrophoretic homogeneity by heparin-Sepharose 6 Fast Flow affinity chromatography and glycosylated by the expression host. The yield of purified rGLF was approximately 2.0 mg/L of culture broth. The N-terminal sequence was identical to the native goat lactoferrin (nGLF). The iron-binding behavior, papain-inhibiting property, and thermal stability of the purified rGLF were comparable to nGLF. This is the 1st report of intact goat lactoferrin expression using the P. pastoris system. 相似文献

Mycelia of Antrodia cinnamomea (AC), an edible fungus native to Taiwan, were produced by submerged fermentation with various fermentation times in 250 mL, 5 and 500 L fermentors and were evaluated for the effect of fermentation products on the viabilities of Hep3B and HepG2 hepatoma cells and normal primary rat hepatocytes. The results showed that the ethanolic extracts of AC mycelia (from 250 mL fermentation for 8 wk and 5 and 500 L fermentations for 4 wk) possessed high antihepatoma activity. The IC(50) of ethanolic extract of AC mycelia fermented for 8 wk in a 250 mL fermentor against Hep3B and HepG2 cells were 82.9 and 54.2 microg/mL, respectively. Furthermore, the IC(50) for Hep3B and HepG2, treated with ethanolic extract of AC mycelia fermented for 4 wk in the 5 L fermentor were 48.7 and 3.8 microg/mL, respectively. Those treated with ethanolic extract of AC mycelia fermented for 4 wk in the 500 L fermentor were 36.9 and 3.1 microg/mL, respectively. No adverse effects of all samples on normal primary rat hepatocytes were observed. 相似文献

Pullulan based films possess several advantages, including high transparency, low toxicity, good biodegradability, good mechanical properties, and low oxygen permeability, are preferable for food packaging. The application of pullulan films on food packaging, however, has inherent disadvantage of high water solubility. In this study, glutaraldehyde and glycerol were used as the cross‐linking reagent and the plasticizer respectively to improve water resistance and physical properties of the pullulan films. Effects of cross‐linking degree on physical properties, including water absorptions, swelling behaviors, water vapor permeability and tensile strengths of films were evaluated. FTIR results demonstrated that the pullulan films were successfully cross‐linked by glutaraldehyde. The tensile strength of pullulan films could be enhanced significantly (P < 0.05) when glutaraldehyde was between 1% and 5% (w/w); nevertheless, the amount of glutaraldehyde above 20% (w/w) led to films brittleness. With the addition of glycerol as a plasticizer enhanced the extensibility of films as well as the hydrophilicity, resulting in higher water vapor permeability. 相似文献
